Let me know in the comments your thoughts on the MEGACADE. It is very pricey but offers a lot of nice options if you can stretch your budget and fit it in your gameroom.

10k is insane but without knowing what an average arcade system goes for, that might not be that bad of a deal however I think the bigger issue is the 70k game selection - I have a hard time deciding what to play with 10 to 20 games, let alone 70k.

For us overkill on games. It’s just a good conversation piece . I’m going for more working system and game that’ll be played over numbers in my build. There’s a lot of ps1-ps2-/ps3 that are useless and will ever be played but take up a lot of HD space

Wood = 200 art= $100 Controls= $400 50 inch tv=%500 PC for emulation= $700 Assembly and shipping $8000 Really not worth it !!! Personally for my desktop gaming system I find anything over 27 inches too large to enjoy. On larger screens I have to turn my head to see my health or other stats and enemies can be out of my IRL field of view. Couch gaming is ok on larger screens as you are sitting back from them but the locations of the arcade controls puts you too close to a large screen! Let me put this into perspective, a $259 Atgames Legends gamer pro and a 50 inch TV and you can do everything this can do! Granted the controls on the Atgames are not full arcade quality. The Atgames controls aren't full arcade quality but they are close enough that even though I have replaced the controls on every other arcade system I have used in the past ( usually with Ultimarc controls) I have not bothered to replace the Atgames controls.

Not sure it's an investment. It's a nice piece but none of it is historical or original, so I don't think it would ever appreciate. That's not saying it's not worth it, just that I don't think it's an investment. Cars in general aren't investments either, they usually depreciate. Special edition cars is what you want to buy as an investment.

I just wanted to add in that I just bought one and it is amazing. I was on the fence for spending that kind of money for a game cabinet as I had been burned in the past with subpar build quality and customer service. 100% not the case. Extreme and David were 100% a pleasure to deal with. Super responsive on any question I had before I bought. And they were never pushy on upgrades or anything. I priced matched all of their accessories and extras and found that their pricing was actually better than what I could get. After I got the machine Extreme has been again super responsive on any questions I had or help I needed with a setting or config. And to say that their build quality is top notch is an understatement. Not only as a PC builder, but also as a cabinet builder these things are works of art. Cannot say enough good things about Extreme or their products.

This would be the ultimate mancave addition. The $10k (or even the base price) would be a little too much for me to swallow though, especially because I know I wouldn't end up playing it as much as I should. But, you can't deny the cool factor, every arcade era kids dream come true.

Bought mine in 2017. Best purchase I ever made . It’s more than an arcade , it’s a work of art. Also could have just done PC or things like that, but as an arcade kid, in the 80s,90s, the feel of it was what I wanted. The best part about it is Every person who sees it , I ask was there a game u loved or played as a kid? Even people who r non gamers always have something obscure or a fond memory . When u see the look in their eyes, the excitement of playing that again it’s amazing . Everyone asks , how much was it ? I ask them to guess. The lowest I’ve had it 15k, highest is 100k. Just got my omega upgrade yesterday, installing today. It the centerpiece of my man cave/ game room. Even my wife who was like..don’t u have an Xbox?? Was blown away…im sure u can take months or years building ur own, but doubtful it will look the way this does, and the ease of it . When u look at how much money on eating out daily , Starbucks etc each year …to own something like this is cheap imo. Great video:)

I don't mind pay $10k for EVERYTHING. Just replaced my roof last year and that cost $11k. You can spend $10k on the interest and property taxes on your home in one year. Need to replace my carpet soon... that will probably cost $6-8K. It's all about how you look at it. I've spent a lot of money on cheaper emulation (pandora, pi emulators, xbox, etc.) and other than a modded original Xbox that still works after 20 years, emulation is disappointing. Slow down, muddled audio, missing games, busted ROMs, etc. The video game magazine thing and marquee are nice touches. Honestly, what you've shown is perfection. I'll probably wait until I retire in a few years to get one.

Show-Me Retro, I'm glad you guys had a good experience with the machine. I bought a Tabletop version of this from Extreme Home Arcades, but my experience was quite different. The outer hardware and controls were great, but the PC parts and software were HORRIBLE. The WORST over $4,000 I ever spent. Just turning it on and having it work is a crap shoot (and this is from day one). I have to re-seat both the boot and game drives every time I want to play it and even then it takes multiple boots. Then you can't choose more than three games, or play it for more than 10 minutes (even less sometimes) before it randomly goes to a Windows screen. The experience is a total disaster. It's a pretty thing to look at if you just want to turn it on and not play it, just having the Hyperspin randomly show cool animations of games, but for over $4,000, that alone isn't worth it. I'm so glad Arcade1up and iiRcade came out. Sure, it's not 70,000 plus games, but at least the things work. Again, I'm glad you and your friend enjoyed it. Maybe you got a good one :) vgv

Wow, that's unfortunate to hear. Have you contacted EHA? I called the number they give out and the owner answered on the second ring and game me some info on the pc.i would hope they would back up their product especially if it's software related?
@videogamevegasYeOldeAccount
Show-Me Retro, Yeah, I did back in the day. So many phone conversations and the re-seating trick was their biggest solution. Could this still be fixed? Maybe, but I lost confidence with so much back and forth troubleshooting that there just came a time where I had to cut my losses. Believe me, A LOT of phone conversations. Extreme Home Arcades was just not the solution for me. I just need something that works, and for $4,000+, I thought this would be it. Instead, I got something I have to continually troubleshoot (from day one out of the box). I'll tell you, I almost cry every I turn it on, which I rarely do now that I have other machines that work from other companies. I've spent more time fixing the Extreme Home Arcades machine than playing it. And others who have bought this product have had similar issues as I watched videos from people, even when the company was called Dream Home Arcades. Such a huge money mistake for me. And that's why I was wary when Arcade1up then came into the market. Thank goodness it was a lower risk financial investment, and thankfully Arcade1up eventually made some decent machines. I'm so glad we now have other companies like Arcade1up and iiRcade that make true plug n' play solutions and that work. I just want to game :) Thanks for your message (and video) and I hope continued working condition for your friend's machine :) vgv

@@videogamevegasYeOldeAccount You should have sent back the drives back and had them look at it. I know you can mail the drives back to them if you have issues. Why didn't you do that?
@videogamevegasYeOldeAccount
tom11zz884, Thank you for your interest. The mention of sending drives back did come up several times, but what I got back every time was, "let's see if this works, let's see if that works, we can always replace the drives if need be," and I was willing to send them back, and let them know I'd send them back, but they kept telling me, "we don't understand how could it be both drives, it must be something else." After months of back and forth, I just got to the point of frustration and couldn't personally deal with it any more. The head of the company was always professional, but it didn't seem like anyone knew a solution. I had to come to the realization that I got a bad one, which was an over $4,000 mistake. And even down to so many simpler things (and I won't list them all): - Like having duel spinners installed to play pong, letting them know that game specifically, only to have both spinners only work for player one and being told "here's how to make the change" going into make the change that didn't end up working and then being told, "I know there's a setting to change that somewhere and you just need to search around." - Or question if something could be set a certain way and hearing "I'm sure you can try something to make it work," - Or the coin buttons added to the front of the machine not working for each applicable emulator and being told, "yes they do, we made sure they work for all games." It's clear to me that Extreme Home Arcades are a hardware company, sans the PC parts, and know how to make a decent cabinet shell and control placement. However, from my long laundry list of troubleshooting, they don't understand the software side or the PC hardware side. It feels to me they got an incomplete Hyperspin build and tried to make it work, or tried to build something from scratch with a huge rom dump, and couldn't translate it to the controls. Because I spent so much money, I took the time, SO MUCH TIME, to work with them. But I think there's a breaking point in everyone, and I feel I fought tooth and nail to get everything to work and never got solutions to any issue that cropped up. I have toyed with the possibility of getting with a 3rd party who knows the software side of things to build me a decent Hyperspin build to put into this machine, but I'm afraid it's more than a drive problem, could be cabling, or even the motherboard itself, and not to mention the nightmare of configuring the so many controls I have on the thing, myself. I don't know if I want to spend more months troubleshooting the thing, when there are now companies out there that have figured it out and aren't charging a small fortune on a single machine; companies like Arcade1up, iiRcade, and Unico, make me feel like they have my back (at least more than Extreme Home Arcades) and are actual plug and play solutions. Thanks again for your query and I hope this helps. vgv

Cons: 1) Price. (No SSDs for 10 grand? come on...) 2) Takes up too much physical space (when was the last time you had 4 people playing co-op on your couch?) 3) Tech support will not be there forever. AFTER the company closes/shuts down, YOU and only you will be left with updating the software and hardware to make sure it runs smoothly. My solution and I know it's not for everyone, was to buy the best gaming laptop I could get to play the latest PC games, install Hyperspin, and setup the retro consoles and ROMS I actually play on a 1TB SSD (let's be honest you wont be playing Atari games every single day). So far I'm half-way through the 1TB memory and have MAME, PS1, PS2, N64, NES, SNES, TG16, Dreamcast, Wii U, and the best Switch ROMS, yes the laptop handles even the latest Switch games via emulation with no problem (I don't even think I saw Wii U or Switch games on the gaming setup in the video which again at 10 grand is NOT worth it). Lastly, I built myself a 2 player joystick on a pedestal which I can set in place in front of the large TV mounted on the wall, and when I am done I just move it over to the closet. Probably not even $2K with all said and done.

Is it allot of money? Yes… But I’ve done allot of research and watched allot of videos. And this machine has allot that other machines don’t. #1. The marquee that changes to the game your playing (well that’s just freaking AWESOME!! ) #2. a nice computer inside not just a raspberry pi. #3. The build which is not cheap material. #4. the artwork. #5. you have to factor in the cost of each and every component building it, and shipping it. Oh and let’s not forget the insane amount of games that’s inside. If I had the money to buy it, I would buy one in a second, unfortunately I don’t have that type of money laying around. But who knows maybe one day I get lucky and I’m able to own this beautiful machine.

Very balanced approach to this topic. I had an issue with doorway size, which was the main reason I went with 43" GRS for the cab/art (modular). Being as how I am expert level at wiring/soldering/electronics/computers, it was a no brainer for me to build my own. But once you talk adding guns, LCD marquees, and other options, 10K isn't even that bad. I have a bit more beef under the hood, but I'm talking just under 5K with: No LCD Marquee, no guns, GTX1650 from my kid's PC (he got upgraded to GTX3070, yes he's a spoiled brat always complaining about frame rates to his CIO/CTO grandpa), 1 car amp plus a powered subwoofer I already had (have two car amps in there total), and a shitload of wiring (and troubleshooting) of both AC & DC circuits. 10K for that system, is not only fair, it seems like the margins are pretty damn low for the work it takes to assemble.

Follow up idea: Show FROM START TO FINISH: Booting up the MegaCade, selecting XBOX GAMEPASS or directly selecting and Xbox Gamepass Game and actually LAUNCHING that game to the point where you're actively playing it. Theoretically it COULD be possible via the browser interface (but not the native app interface, which will mean no force feedback/rumble) with a combination of a RocketLauncher backend and AutoHotkey Scripts, and I've gotten my HyperSpin Console pretty close to being able to achieve it without navigating a third party interface (but still need to manually select "play" which I'm working on fixing)... but as far as I know most people and NO COMMERCIAL COMPANY has shipped a device capable of doing so (turn on, select game from your front end, fade and game comes up without any extra windows popping on the screen and requiring further navigation/selection/configuring) Please let me know if I'm wrong and they shipped an arcade capable of directly launching gamepass games as I would LOVE to see their method/workaround/macros/autohotkeyscripts/rocketlauncher settings for doing so!
@show-me-retro
@show-me-retro Год назад
Well, I obviously could not test everything since I was only there for an evening but my friend plays gamepaas on it, not sure what else to tell you. O mean, I was playing Super Mario Odyssey on it with no Switch attached so why is it hard to believe gamepass isn't possible?
@davejay6855
@davejay6855 Год назад
@@show-me-retro yes, my console plays Switch games just fine as well, that's extremely easy because the makers of programs like YUZU allow for Command-Line-Functionality (the frontend system sends a string of commands and the game directly opens after a fade without any popups or other windows needing to be opened) but the Gamepass app does NOT allow for command-line-functionality which is problematic as that's how BigBox and HyperSpin open games. Yes, you can open the Gamepass app on here just like any other PC can, but was the developer actually able to integrate the individual games directly into Bigbox? If so, what does it look like when they're opening? I've been working on adding the gamepass games to HyperSpin for months, and it was impossible to do it via the native app, the only way to use it was to open the app and quit the HyperSpin system entirely (at which point you're just using it like a PC and not a "select and play arcade"). However, I have been able to integrate the games successfully using the Browser version, but even then I still manually need to launch the game, as it won't just automatically open/start like every other system (including Switch Games). I'm still working on the autohotkey script in rocketlauncher so it will automatically launch the game once selected without opening other windows or requiring anymore user input, but even if I succeed, the browser versions of the games have issues (the largest being no rumble/feedback) while the app versions don't usually have those problems.

Love your video and presentation. I bought one of these as well from the same company. I remember when I first got the mega Cade the delivery guy was so happy and nervous about the delivery and couldn’t wait for my signature so I would take responsibility of the delivery. It’s built beautifully, so no complaints there. However I sold mine for a loss after a couple years of ownership and never looked back. I’m not a computer nut, so my story may be different than others, but please understand a ton of those games on my mega Cade stand was unplayable. I had a real difficult time in trying to set up the controls of many of the games, which was aggravating. Several of the games crashed on me and wouldn’t load and whenever I called the owner of the company to see if he could help I could tell he got frustrated with me and my newbie questions. But to be fair, prior to ordering the machine from him I told him I wasn’t a computer guru and I wanted to be able to play ALL the games right out of the box and he assured me this would be the case. I remember having some friends over and I showed them the machine. They were so impressed with it and immediately asked how much it was. However, after they tried to play some of the games on it ( such as PAC Man), the game wouldn’t play right and was difficult to control. Afterwards they all left unimpressed, which left them uninspired to buy one. If you know how to program the controls and can work around a computer pretty well, then one of these should be fine for you. But if you’re one of the guys who just wants to sit down with the belief you’ll be able to play ALL of the games straight out of the box, then I wouldn’t recommend it unless you know someone close who can help you and show you how to get it up and running. BTW I did send off my old board and got the newest updated board from the company, but same results. Thanks for listening and for posting this video.

Well, the average price of a singular regular old school arcade game that usually play one game, is about $4k to $6k, depending on the type of game. For example, Pac-Man arcade being one of the cheapest to Street Fighter being one of the more expensive one. Some other arcades have their own unique design, like Daytona USA, Time Crisis, Etc that come in pairs of two monitors and can connect to a network of up to 6 arcade to make the game more enjoyable, but those arcase used to cost up to $20k back in the days. Of course they were built to make profits, therefor you get your investment back and much more. Just that coin box itself made the machine cost way more money because it ment business. Like a home wash & dryer that cost $2k a set, but the commercial ones at the laundry cost $15k to $20k due to the commercials grade built & that coin box that ment business. Keep in mind that old school arcades were entertaining commercials machine. The game were straight forward simple and weren't too long with an average level of difficulty, so you keep putting money to finish it in about 10 mins or so, so that the next player takes over. As console game slowly were improving their graphics capabilities and the games became more intimate & way longer, arcades started to fade away. Now a day the concept of having a home arcade is to play all the old school games & a collection of all consoles in one big unit. I thought about buying myself a Pinball machine, but then I realized it would have been a very bad decision and waste of $$$ because Pinballs only plays one kind of game and most likely I was gonna get bored in few days. Then it just would have been collecting dust just like another piece of furniture in a corner of the house, taking space, just to brag about that I have a Pinball machine at home.

I am using a tank stick added a spinner, There support to get you up and running if you have any problems is top notch and for a product out the box it is one of the most polished and the fact he has been doing it for years means he has mastered it. A lot of people sell hyperspin but IMO nobody's support can match his I hooked up Sinden guns followed Video instructions and all is good. Remember Nothing is perfect, Here is the thing with emulation there is always work and tweaking but the rewards are amazing. I love the extreme home polished product though.

I imagine the majority of people that can afford to buy it don’t really need to worry if the price is worth it. It’s mainly aimed at wealthy people or enthusiasts willing to spend that kind of money for an arcade cabinet.

Yes, they paying a lot of money for a piece of wood and a monitor, that's it. Those games are free, you can download them into your PC and make your own arcade machine on your PC. But yeah they are way overpriced. 1,000 to 1,500 might be a fair price for the cost of woods, monitor, labor work. But no way in hell it's worth 5,000 and up. They are crazy greedy people.

Great video, everything was presented very well. I have on order a beast machine from xtreme gaming cabinets - a competitor overseas.

Dyno, I was contemplating the exact same thing. 8k + the shipping is like 2k to the states, so works out about the same cost as Megacade after racing kit and Sinden guns. My worry was more about filling out all the correct customs paperwork. How did you go about that if you don't mind me asking?

@@Pinseeker01 i have not gotten to that point yet, unfortunately the waiting list is extremely long for xtreme gaming cabinets. I have heard it isn't too bad though.

Oof, this is the fuckin dream. From what I saw, 10k seems worth it as long as I get a lifetime warranty on it.

Looks great. 10 G is definitely too steep for me. 2-3 grand is the most I would pay. Buying the big box or whatever sounds like a great lower price option ( then building the rest on your own).

What is the "big box" you mentioned that's the lower cost option?
@doro626
@doro626 Год назад
@@ultraspinalki11 It's been so long that I'm not completely sure, but I suspect I was talking about the launch box big box emulation. You buy the software for a couple of hundred dollars, then you build a cheaper arcade cabinet using different services. It runs on PC, so basically you have a pc running the games. Not sure if they provide the roms or not.
@doughnut101

@@ultraspinalki11 Launchbox/Big Box is what's called a front end software. It merely allows you to organize your games and access the emulators in a clean single location. You need to install individual emulators to play the actual games. BigBox automates most of those emulator downloads. The roms (game files) you have to go find yourself. (Mostly super easy)

10k for a custom cabinet, good build quality, nice display, peripherals and emulator front end all pre-configured, and it's American made? Worth it IMO. Would take a couple hundred hours of labor to do it yourself at that caliber.

Like u said, it’s all in how u look at it. How long would it take to download all these games and set this thing up. Also, if u were to purchase each game separately, it’s WAAAAY over $10,000. Knowing that this same build years ago was almost half the price makes it a tough pill to swallow but, still the cost for all the games makes it more than worth it. Too bad I ain’t got the money.😢
