NaturallyPhilo you get a like for consistency... a like for quality content here and on ig lol and I like for the giveaway.... the 4:45 minute ad for a real estate convention I’m not going to attend though almost caught this hands butttt we stand watching all ads here. 😝😜🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 I’m seriously in prayer for this giveaway I’m out of work awaiting a surgery so something positive happening would be a blessing
her: stop touching your hair me: already self diagnosed with hand-in-hair syndrome. Now, i just need my hands to touch the hem of Jesus' garment, so i can be delivered !
I think my hair grows on a fast pace... I big chopped 02 July 2019 and my hair is the same length as yours if I have to straighten them or blow dry... for those who cares to know how I retained my length... 1. Pre-poo every week. 2. Shampoo every week. 3. DIY deep conditioning every week (even if I buy deep conditioners, I will add natural ingredients) 4. Twist every week after LOC... repeat on Saturday again.... I moisturize and oil my hair mid week, that’s it.... I have never used any form of heat on my hair ever since I big chopped. Now that my hair is longer I hardly use combs as I wash my hair in twist and remove each twist to moisturize and I re-twist again.... #letsgrowthemhealthyhair
If we all just got into keeping out hair in twists all together our hair thrives. Avoiding manipulation and factors out of out control. Helps with moisture sooooo much. No extra hair added. Its liiit
I almost exclusively rocked mini twists in 2019 and everybody and they momma (including mine) keeps talking about my length and asking if they can have my hair 🤷🏽♀️ no sis you cannot have my hair 🤗
Exactly they always have something to say about my hair being in twist and wrapped up in cute scarfs.... the sad thing is it's always my mother talking about get a relaxer and I'm like no leave me alone . It's my hair 🙄😒
I’m so happy that you mentioned genetics. There are so many videos out there stating that genetics doesn’t matter. But that shouldn’t be a discouragement. Be gentle and do the steps that you mentioned will work. I wear my hair in twists 95% of the time and my hair is tail bone length.
I use SheaMoisture Raw Shea Butter Extra Moisture Detangler as my #1. Anything else I have used has never left my hair silky, shiny, and loaded with moisture for more than a week. I usually go 10 days before I feel the need to cowash my hair again. I have also used Camille Rose Fresh Curl a few times. It's lighter, but my hair still gives the same shine and it leaves my hair so soft. It doesn't last as long, maybe 4-5 days before I need to moisturize again. My two absolute favorites.
I can’t wait until I can afford this air dryer...is what I was about to say until you mentioned the GIVEAWAY!! Let me keep watching for more details. ❤️🙏 Thank you for the opportunity!!
I entered!!! The hardest part about being newly natural for me is keeping my hand outta my hair 😭 I’m obsessed and always trying SOMETHING! Thanks for the tips girl ❤️
I've been following your journey for god knows how long Philo! When I saw this I was like i have to watch this cuz I know how much you've struggled with your hair, and to see it this long and flourishing is amazing!!!!!!
The last few months of 2019 I wanna say starting in October. I noticed a whole bunch of growth like faster than the whole year. I normally keep my hair is twist, never was good at wash n go or twist outs. So I pretty much keep my twist in 24/7 just wash my hair in twist and retwist after. I noticed a bunch of growth after I took some braids out. When I had them in I was oiling my scalp every other night massaging my scalp and leaving the braids in a low bun for like 3 weeks I did this. Washed it after the second week. I'm still bad at playing in my hair tho sometimes I don't even realize I'm doing it. I think that's why the braids worked so well because my real hair was tucked away.
Girl I literally watched your African threading video and subscribed immediately 😍🤣 you are positivity and fam through the screen 😂😂 I'm here for it sis 👏
Done, done and done! Fantastic tips! I can't event remember the last time I did a wash & go. My hair is usually braided or cornrowed/under a wig. It grows better this way!
Finger coils is my go-to style. It lasts me two weeks and remains moisturized so I don't need to refresh between my biweekly wash days. I experience very good length retention with this style.
Okkkk Philo Maame I got Inches or Whateva!!!! Ugh this is most definitely needed 😩😭😍 let me get my notepad and take some notes from the twist God herself! Need at least 4 inches before prom this year haha! Lol love you 😘😘😘❤️❤️❤️❤️
So last year at the end of June I got some goddess locs... my hair grows slow....( I get that from my father.).. so I usually keep braids and stuff in for 3 months.. but I was able to keep it in till December..my hair grew a nice amount.. I would wash and moisturize my scalp while I had them in.. so I took my locs out for a week then got more. MY HAIR GREW SO FAST THE SECOND GO ROUND... I got them put in December 8th and it looked like it was time to take them out by February 8th.. not touching my hair made my hair really grow. since I've started my natural journey I've had a hard time finding what works to grow my hair out.. and I just realized I was touching it to much. So THAT DOES WORK!! And it has made it so healthy... I have 4c hair... really thick hair that seemed so rough.. I'm not having that rough feeling anymore.. ends are repairing and everything.. so now I just do twist or plaits and with this quarantine and me being out of a job I been just leaving it in far a while and my hairs doing great!! It really works..
"If pineapples work for you, dass you!" 😂😂😂 girl I used to try to force my hair to work w the pineapple method, it was like nah sis! Started twisting every night and saw a major difference in growth and retention 😭👏🏾😂
Girl Bella Curl coconut oil leave in is HEAVEN! They ONLY sell Bella Curls at Dollar general but honeyyyyyy! It has so much slip to be a leave in and so moisturizing.
7:17 I LITERALLY had my hand on my head and I just alerted them down to my cheek. Coz gurl, I’m finna grow my hair in quarantine and I’m doing plaits for the next three months for growth sisssss
I so enjoy your videos!!! My girls and I watch your videos!! They’re asleep🙌🏾🙌🏾so it is just me now!! THANK YOU SO MUCH for giving those of us that don’t have IG, still an opportunity to enter!! Another good video!!
Philo,I have been waiting on you!❤ from Jamaica🇯🇲 EARLY KINK FOLK GANG, PERIODT Bruh when you said take your hands out your hair you frightened me thats what I was doing while scratching,Im the QUEEN OF PROTECTIVE STYLE legit i be wearing 4 big pigtail plaits to school,my friends be like why you come out the house like that or add some gel im just like are u doing my hair or helping it to grow no,PERIODT
I started twisting my hair up and wearing a wig. I moisturize midweek and twist it back up. My hair has grown so much. This also helped with my shedding and single knot strands.
My favorite moisturizers are Cantu Daily Oil Moisturizer and ORS Olive Oil Moisturizing Hair Lotion. I’m guilty of not always twisting my hair before bed, and as a result I’ve dealt with really bad tangling. I learned my lesson quick! I can’t really do wash-n-go’s either, my hair performs a lot better in a stretched state.
You are so right about training your hair I’ve been natural for 20+ years wore my hair shaved low grew out my hair last year and my hair failed to cooperate 😂 twist out would unravel I was tempted to cut my hair finally my hair started to respond and behave I’m ole school and grease and water work for me
Great tips! I stopped doing wash and gos too. I’m currently on a healthy hair/length retention challenge. I’ve been wearing my hair (real hair) in twists/braids for the last few weeks. Hopefully I see some good growth 🤞🏾
So excited for the giveaway!! i have been dying to try this blow dryer 🙏🏾I always struggle when blowing out my hair bc I'm clumsy lol so this tool would help so much! Training your hair is such an important tip. I've noticed that my hair behaves so much better when i follow a routine week after week compared to when i go weeks (ok sometimes months 🙊) letting it do whatever hahaha 😂
My cousins friend had this rev air and tried it on me and let me tell you revolutionary. I really plan on having one myself because I’m one of four girls in the house and three of which that are natural so yea.
If you haven't tried TGIN (Thank God Its Natural) products, I do like their Green Tea Leave In Moisturizer and Sweet Honey Hair Milk. Love their whole product line! Also love your videos girl! Stay fly!
I unintentionally rocked mini twists for two years and most times under wigs and now I'm waist length from arm pit so tail bone here we come, moisturizing and little manipulation with clean ends, i keep it simple
Girl I love your energy! I can watch u all day, I hope u have high porosity hair like myself so I can look at some of those, because this is my 2nd video of urs n I'm going to subscribe now😉
My favorite moisturizer of all time is the mane choice 3 in 1 conditioner, I also like the soultanicals knot sauce, and the kinky curly knot today... but sis that mane choice will always have my heart.
I guess I’m the weirdo, wash n gos have been a staple for my length retention, the key is to stretch the hair and separate the curls at the ends so they aren’t making single strand knots 😌... Melanin Haircare’s line is my all time favorite 💛
Corey J when you have kinkier hair, like 4c, your hair doesn’t stay stretched after a wash and go. After an hour or so shrinkage starts to set in and then knots start forming
I entered the giveaway but do not currently have an ig account.. Loved the video! I wore twists under my wigs for most of 2019 and my hair grew so much! I think about 4-5 inches which is amazing. I will definitely have to stop touching my hair. It's a sickness! lol
Oh gosh, I’m crossin my green bananas for this giveaway. This dryer would change washday for my daughter, she HATES it. Kin folk, thanks for the content. I especially love your latest 2 hair types 1 product videos.
I'm 53 yrs. old, been natural for 3 yrs., and never had a wash and go. I wear twists ALWAYS, I just put them in different styles if I don't want them hanging down. I'm almost waist length when I stretch it with my fingers.
Exactly how I grew my hair down my back in like 6 months after my last big chop...twists and flat twist under my wigs until my hair got long enough to cornrow under the wigs, still taking care of my natural hair it was down my back full and healthy...until I tried to loosen my curl pattern with a texturizer and it all damaged all of my hair and I was back at square one with another big chop smh 😔
YASSSSSSS, for the consistent videos. Keep em coming girl!!! I love witnessing your journey. Im entering the giveaway, but I don't have IG. 🤷🏾♀️🤞🏾🙏🏾🤩💖
All facts sis. Esp the last. I stopped doing wash n go's now and noticed the growth fr. Told myself I will reserve wash n go's for summer if I'm not braided up 🤷
Good steps.i have never done wash and go since I started my natural hair journey . Good video your hair is soo pretty it’s my natural hair goal .🇬🇭🇬🇭 🎉🎉🎉
Ok but your hair looks sooo good! I’m glad you’re doing this giveaway, I can’t afford the product because I’m an international university student so I’d be really happy if I won. Thanks for the opportunity queen.
I entered the giveaway. I think my biggest issue is consistency. My schedule is different every week so I its really hard to have set time to do my hair. I've been watching you for years, and your growth is amazing💕
