First up in this video is the G-Shock GBD200 series, which came out at the end of 2021, with continued limited-editions at the beginning of 2022. Despite technically being a new release from last year, I discuss why it's still one of the most important watches in recent history, and how it could hold the secret to combating the ever mounting threat from smartwatches to the traditional watch industry. Next is my deliberation between the classic Squale 1521 "Azzurro" and the new COSC certified edition, and why it could be a game changer, not just for me-but for the brand. I then consider a highly overlooked, beautiful art deco inspired special edition from Rotary's aptly named Champagne Collection, and why it could perhaps be the perfect affordable dress watch. I also discuss several new releases from Omega, as they continue trying to outdo their nemesis Rolex, with some record-breaking deep divers, and some refined Aquaterras. Next up are some thoughts on the latest Speedmasters, especially the 321 Canopus Gold, which is not only the ultimate Speedmaster, but one that breaks my heart-and the reason I'll never buy it. Despite it being utter perfection, I explain the reason why I actually prefer the Moonshine Gold, green dial, and panda dial versions. Last but not least, is a watch very worthy of discussion. It's the Porsche Design 1972 Chronograph 1 reissue, which celebrates 50 years of this pioneering, trendsetting, racing watch. How did it revolutionize watches? And what made it so iconic that it inspired me to buy a Dan Henry tribute to it? I conclude this video with my thoughts on why Rolex predictions ultimately bore me, and why my eyes are ultimately fixed on Tudor and what they'll do next.
