Thanks for making this video Melissa! It was neat to hear about your Sicilian heritage too. The great American melting pot had so many great people that came here with nothing but hope and prayer. They were some of the hardest working people that we could ever possibly know. I bet Joe could give them a run for their money though; he is a rare one!

It is always happiness when you are with family and friends, the children had fun with the snow. Nostalgia invades you when leaving your old house. It was a long trip but I'm glad you had a great time.

That kitchen is gorgeous. It's much warmer in Louisiana though no freezing temperatures. I've been watching house restoration in Natchez Mississippi. I love those old houses they're redoing and restoring down there oh my goodness.
I'm in Colorado and I'm not in near the cold you all are in MN. Woah. I'm really over THIS cold here. Louisiana sounds all to good most days of our winter 🥶 lol I have visited Minnesota I know that cold there's frozen tundra up there for a very long time 😆

May have to consider flying with the price of gas/diesel. My son’s flying out to Wisconsin from Virginia roundtrip & it’s less than $300. It would cost more in driving with fuel, oil, tires, & wear & tear on his body. Haha. Great video to see your family. Grandkids are very well- behaved and respectful to each other. I found a big smile on my face when they were playing with the snow. Would love to see them on the tractor at the farmhouse in a BIG snow! Thank you.
When I went to view this video I thought I was going to see Joe doing his beef jerky, what a nice surprise to hear about your trip to Louisiana and your stops along the way! Loved hearing about your side of the family! The King cakes looked fantastic when you brought them home!

I know you enjoyed your stay here. After all those hurricanes we gain new neighbors on my block and in the neighborhood. Since Katrina up to Ida some 23 families has called my area of Shreveport home. Sad part I actually saw where you passed alone my area. I open my front door and I see I-49 no more than 105 feet from front porch. Hope you enjoyed your time here.

You were right about the trees. Storm pushed salt water in and killed a lot. And beetles. there are a lot of Sicilian families that live in the town of Independence. East side of Louisiana, north New Orleans. You are more central.
That's quite the road trip Melissa. It's been a long time since I have been in Missouri. My father's side of the family lives just south of Saint Louis.
A great show riding alone on utube. Now I don't need a vacation lol. Its nice to go but nice to go home again. Its all hot and sticky down south in the summer for me but winters are nice down south. I'm 2.5 hours north of you yet and a hour from the tent. Winters are to cold here but summers are nice most of the time. Great video thou. If you need more snow come to my house and take all you need. Its free. Lol

We actually met through RU-vid on one of his first crawfishing videos. I had to tell him the coonass way and we started chatting. A year later we met in person and the rest is history. Lol

I live in SW Louisiana and 1 1/2 years after Hurricanes Laura and Delta, an ice storm and a flood we are still in recovery. There are houses that still have trees on top of them and people living in tents on their property. My family of 5 is still living in a 5th wheel camper. Recovery is very slow.
I lived in our 5th wheel for a couple years and honestly grew to love living in it, I dont know how you do it with 5 people though. Sorry you all are going through this
Talk about a sore butt by the time I got there...LOL Wish I could just travel around the country, I would have liked to have seen more of Arkansas and Missouri

Yes Missouri is beautiful my son used to live there . Love Tennessee as well, especially the mountain area. Got to say Melissa your braver than I driving all that way then back home and here I thought driving 6 hours to see my kids and grandkids was more than I wanted to drive🤪. Glad you had a wonderful time with your family and you made it safely home, oh yeah, Wow that kiss on Joe's channel between you two, didn't miss each other much did you 😀.
