Yeah it’s an issue that happens with certain aftermarket remote start system. I would reach out to the manufacturer of the remote start. Could be the module or another component need replacing. One of the reasons I stay away from aftermarket remote systems. They seem not to play well with the Tundra. I don’t use the stock system because I hate it but when it comes to aftermarket parts, I stay away from parts that do not play well with the onboard computer.
I have a 2014 Platinum. No remote start with factory fobs. That immobilizer light has never been on until recently. Only time its off is when the key is in the ignition. Strange that this has never been on an all the research i can find says its supposed to be flashing 24x7 unless the key is in. Supposedly normal.

I too have the 12v remote starter and it does have a few gremlins ..... Everything is intermittent: dash board lights flash, exterior lights will pulse, unlock feature won’t work and forced to use key ..... again, not always ..... but often enough .....
I have an aftermarket remote start and it works perfectly. I have had that light come on before but goes away after its been turned off then restarted. I haven't found it to be a problem.
I have a factory installed remote starter on my 2016 Tundra. First let me say that the flashing lock symbol that you are seeing will flash when the truck is off. So since you are seeing it while you are driving, and you have an aftermarket remote starter, the problem is likely due to that. Now I did experience this problem only once. I tried starting the truck remotely in -20°F temperatures. The truck failed to start after three attempts. I went outside and attempted to start the truck with the key. After several failed attempts that symbol began flashing and the computer locked me out from any further attempts to start the truck. I removed the ground cable from the battery for a minute then reinstalled it to reset the computer. The truck did start then. Long story short, the fuel pump was failing (remember the massive recall?). I took the truck into the dealership the next day and was told the fuel pump had to be replaced and the ECM recalibrated. Since the repairs were made, that symbol has never come on again. Only when the truck is shut off as an indicator of the security feature for antitheft protection. I would try removing the ground cable from the battery as I described and see if the computer resets and corrects the issue. If it doesn't, I'd be inclined to say its either a problem with your remote starter or possibly the start of a fuel pump issue.
When I cut the truck off and restarted it it never did it again. I will definitely keep an eye out for it again and if it happens I’ll take it to the dealership and get my fuel pump checked out.
My original battery when bad. Now i have a new one, and just a few days ago i wouldn’t start, so i jump it. I feel like i really drains the battery. DON’T LIKE THAT.
That is the light that indicates you paid to much for your wife's SUV . On my 2017 Tundra I was on my third battery when I traded for my 2019 on both I had a dead cell.
I installed the Start X plug and play remote start on my 2015 tundra limited a couple months ago. This same thing just happened to me for the first time while driving. Once I got home I tried to get it to do it again and it won’t. Must just be a weird random bug with after market remote starts
I still really like mine. This one single incident is the only issues I’ve had. It ran fine just that light flashed. It hasn’t done it since this one time. No issues at all now.
