Have you ever heard the term "Paint Jail" very common on complete paint jobs. Typically, complete paint jobs are not the bread and butter of paint shops so they tend to take back seat to the day to day in and out jobs. Throw in the fact the advertising the shop gets by having an exotic sitting in their shop and not surprised by your story. I have heard this story many times and 90% of the time the car is only returned when the owner gets fed up.

No, it's chassis shop jail, where they keep your car for YEARS while they sell parts off of it, spend your money on other people's projects(because they're doing the same thing to other people, too), and otherwise screw you out of every dime you spend. Then they call you up needing another 10k to 'continue' on your project or it'll get "put on hold until you send a payment". This keeps happening as long as the owner continues to pay or finally gets fed up and goes and gets their car that's now missing half the stuff it went there with, has had no work done, and all your money was spent so there's nothing to refund to you, either. Yea. It happens all the time. It's a common story in the drag racing world and I'm sure it's common in other forms of motorsports as well.

I had the pleasure of riding in a purple lp640 6-speed 9 years ago. Ive told myself ever since that happened that if I hit the lotto or get a dream job its the 1st car im buying as soon as its possible. I can see why this man has/had multiple.

I just wanted to take a second to mention that I discovered your channel roughly 3 months ago or so. Since then I’ve gone all the way back to the very beginning and watched every single video you have uploaded to this day. And today as of right now I have caught up with all videos and I have been able to connect and relate to many videos and it has truly been awesome to watch them all. You have no idea how much this channel means to me, so therefore I would like you to keep going and keep up the excellent work and the awesome stories. Hopefully one day I can be on here and share a bunch of car stories that I have myself. I have owned a few cars myself, and I used to have a RU-vid channel that had 8000 subscribers. I had to abandon it and start fresh. But anyway thank you so much and hello to everyone at Vinwiki and those who have shared stories on here.

Ouchh this Verde Draco, as I said in other VinWiki videos is the most beautiful high end paint and color for a Murci, and the fact they did an astonishing job is worth the wait, because exotic cars, especially the high end models, like the V12 Lamborghini high end model at the time was the Murcielago, they get the best paint job in the factory, layers on layers of expensive paint sprayed. the car looks stunning, the color is the rarest, like Top Gear test Murci was crashed, and a few others only have it, and I guess in person it is just fabulous, since Ed says they did a great job, it should be as good as the factory Lamborghini paint job. Congratulations.

"Body Shop Hell" You drop your car off, the techs immediately disassemble and start the process. This very common step keeps the owner from picking the car up and taking it to another shop. Process continues as the body shop pushes your car off in the corner and continue to repair collisions (insurance=bread and butter). Your car sits there as "fill in" work and gets ignored for months. Finally after threats and legal consultation the body shop gets busy on the car. Discovers missing parts and tacks on $$$ to the bill; I.e. "Body Shop Extortion".

When I saw the Top Gear episode on the Murcielago I thought if I ever had the money to buy one, I'd want one in that color. I'm surprised that no one ordered a Murcielago in that color in the US. This is by far the best looking Murcielago coupe in the country. Thanks.

It may have taken longer than expected, Ed, but it looks like it was totally worth it! It's classy, elegant, unique, and bad to the bone! I find it hard to believe that nobody in the States ordered a Verde Draco LP640! It looks SO appropriate for the car! I would have the interior done with diamond-pattern stitching in the same colored thread, as well! Cheers!

Hey Ed I have a cool story for you. When my uncle was a teenager he bought himself a Trans Am (I believe it was his first car), but eventually he decided to sell it. Years and years later he saw a Trans Am on the side of the road that looked just like his old one, with a for sale sign on it. He stopped to check it out and low and behold it was HIS old car. So he bought it and has been working on fixing it up ever since He and my aunt actually collaborated on a kids book about it

thats an incredible paint job, definately the right company for the job, i understand the time was a little nutz but you cannot put a price on qualityof that standard, considering its a complete color change. congrats on the accomplishment.

Ed, I had similar experience with a recommended indi Audi (VAGen) garage, but it was a mechanical engine work on my Audi. Recommended as far as they work only on these brands, but I saw some negative things on the Audi forum. Left the car, and it took 3 months , all the bad things I read online happened, and it was a headache. Finally car was fixed properly, and in your case, I can say the LP640 looks stunning, it is siiik, insane color. Congrats on the choice, not only it is rare, but is looks amazing, and since it is done perfectly in and out, the car will look just like out of the factory (whatever green) Murci. I love it, it was worth it 100%

Ed, I drove an original Verde Draco Murcielago back in 2007 when the LP640 came out. At the time, I was living and studying in London and was working as a vallet at a luxury department store during the weekends. I actually found out a few years ago an old video on RU-vid of the same car I drove being crashed. I couldn't believe it. Great color choice ...stunning!.Kind of reminds me of the storyline of “the Money Pit”every time contractor was asked how long...2 weeks!!Sounds like a house renovation project...starts out like a new marriage ...everyone’s excited in the beginning and as project progresses it goes overtime and over budget.by the end you and your contractor are like an old married couple who can’t wait to part ways.You just hope that the finished product was worth it...I’m glad that your finished product was worth all the stress...Enjoy!!

Verde Draco is my all time favorite color for the Murcie. It really sucks how few there are in manual in that color (-> $$$) so in the event that I somehow manage to gain possession of a stick LP640, I would do EXACTLY what you did Ed. Awesome video! Gave me some inspiration today

Have you heard of Simon George and his orange manual Murcielago? Which has approaching 300,000 miles on it! It sometimes features in Evo magazine. He is based in the Uk and runs 6th gear (a supercar driving experience company). You should look him up as he's into epic journeys and recently travelled through Scandinavia in his Lambo. He also ran a white manual LP640 and put 40,000 miles on that too!

That color is absolutely spectacular on the LP640...reminds me of my first new car, 1999 mercury cougar in Spruce Green. Damn near exact match!! This was Well worth the wait, money well spent!! 👍🏽 Kudos!
