Me and my wife had a nissan rogue transmission, which started going out less than a hundred K, and yes, we were the original owners who kept up all the maintenance and everything . Then, we purchased a toyota, never looked back .

I got a 2016 Xtrail since is made in japan... everything is done different then that Rogue... metal is better and the CVT work great. So in my case no complain on it. The Xtrail is the same as the Rogue
Had a 2004 Nissan Quest that had many expensive problems. The last one was a bad timing chain. Traded it in before it got noisy for a Rav 4 and never looked back. The Rav 4, a 2009, still running strong.
got to tell you i owned to 85 Nissan 200 sx vehicles they were very good one was blue the other black, both loaded and even had voice messaging for a coupe it was super spacious and both cars were made in Japan both cars had over 250k when i stopped driving them
I had both a RAV4 and a Rogue as rentals for work. I had each of them for a month. Although they were the same size, with comparable equipment, there was no comparison. The Rogue had a much rougher ride, the fit and finish were far inferior to the RAV4. Yes, it costs more, but there is a reason the RAV costs much more. It's both quality and demand.
Nissan vs Toyota, yep big difference. If you don't have 11K you don't have 11k, but you should have $2k for an extended warranty built in there somewhere.
In that category I would rather have an HRV the sporty version because all they are is commuter cars while the civic doesn't have the quality that it used to.The Pilot doesn't have as many recalls for sure.
I had a Nissan Murano long ago. Same concept and issues with the Rogue. One of the worst cars I've ever purchased. I think a high number of these were sold because they were priced dirt cheap at dealerships and car lots. That's how they got me. Never again!

I have unfortunately have owned a 2010 Nissan Rogue luckily paid close to nothing for it god it was a cheaply made piece of junk the Transmission CVT to be exact is a piece of junk. In the future only thing I would ever buy from Nissan is the Frontier or the Titan.
I have a Nissan qashqai which is the European equivalent. Better build quality than the rogue, Smaller engines but pretty bulletproof compared to the Korean crap you have there.
After Renault bought Nissan, Nissan's quality went down as they started to use cheaper plastics to save money. So Nissan's quality is not as good as Toyota & Honda

Still my favorite brand till my end of life, every brand have something afterall, I own a sentra 2016 but manuel transmission, fun perfectly. It need some love like every car but most people own a Nissan didnt care about it like those Hyundai Elantra owner. Still struggle everyday with my girlfriend yelling Toyota are one 😆 Just dont get a CVT Nissan and everything ok!
