I would describe as taking bubblegum pop from the late 90s and early 2000s and making it about 10x more bubblegum. Reminds me of songs like Better Off Alone. But that's just how it sounds to me.

Dude I loved those episodes that apparently got hated on. Besides, you're job is introduce obscure media to your (adoring) fans; there's no way you can get absolutely in depth into all of them, especially not in a ~8 minute time frame. And honestly, yours is my favorite show of this sort. Also as a sidenote, thank you for not introducing me to TheNeedleDrop. I will now marathon his videos. c:

I just wanted to come back to this video months later and thank you for posting it. I've been listening to almost nothing but my PC Music playlist on Google Play Music for a couple months now and I just love it. It's so weirdly infectious, and some of it, I really wanted to hate, but found it growing on me. It's weird now to come back to this video and be able to sing along to every song featured in it. Yes, even "Wannabe" by Lipgloss Twins, which is definitely not only the weirdest song in this video, but probably the weirdest song from the label. For people who are curious, QT's "Hey QT" is a ridiculously catchy place to start, and as was said in the video, she's now signed by XL, which I think speaks to the viability of that song as a "real" pop song. SOPHIE is also a good starting place because his music is actually good to dance to (my favorites are "BIPP" and "VYZEE"). Kero Kero Bonito is also really cool, mixing video game samples with Japanese and English vocals to get some fun results ("Sick Beat" and "Picture This" are my faves from them). Once you're past them, though, just explore what the label has to offer. It's pretty interesting. If anyone wants, I'll recommend my favorite songs from most of the other acts on the label, but I'll leave with those recommendations for now.

I don't think PC music could ever become the majority of what I listen to, but Snow Globe rocked.

I guess PC music raises eyebrows because it does not conform to tried and tested musical standards that we are most comfortable with, like a solid percussion track. I really think it serves as a counter-culture to most current music genres that may have become so standardized that they all sound similar once you boil down the extras. A satire of sorts. Even the faux adverts seemed to make a statement against celebrity sponsorship. Me myself, I don't really like it. It's odd, and unfamiliar. Music serves as a source of comfort for me with its inherent rules, and having that thrown out is like a balloon without a string: free to fly up, but will pop and come down eventually.

I like PC music only because of how futuristic it is. I can JUST imagine a society where there is maybe only one or two famous celebrities and they use them for everything. From hair commercials "____ gets her silky hair by washing her hair with ____ Shampoo! Get yours now!" then a small video of ____ playing with her hair as her latest song plays for 6 seconds, to government propaganda even "___ votes every year and supports our military. Be like QT and support your military!" and then a short video of ___ nodding and smiling, agreeing with the narrator. There would even be a guy, basically doing the same thing except to attract women. The ads would be everywhere, brainwashing the people slowly. Pretty weird, I know, but the music gives me writing inspiration for sci fi movies.

I immediately liked it, but satire is my happy place.

Seven years ago this video introduced me to the world of PC Music and what it’s evolved into today, thanks for that.

First off, I'll stay with my Hardstyle Second, this sounds like English J-Pop. Like if someone dubbed J-Pop songs into English but kept the the original voice.

For me PC music is the perfect counterpart to the wave of "minimal" German house music coming out of the Berghein scene that's devoid of fun, happiness and euphoria.

I think PC music seems to be intended to make a point about the lack of effort put in to some commercially successful pop and edm, emphasizing the shallow nature of it's lyrics, the modulation of the voice and the need for marketability and sponsorship in every song

This video was the one that introduced me to PC music and I found one of the best groups from it. Check out Kero Kero Bonito, it's the guy responsible for Kane West. It's pretty dope.

I'm a fan of pc music. It feels like its Formulaic to the point of being Experimental. A good example is SOPHIE - HARD. Someone who likes generic pop would think its trash, but it it's kind of taking pop elements and shoving them in a blender.

I'm really not gonna say anything about PC music, at least not yet, because what's being said about it now has been said about Dubstep before and Dubstep got HUGE!!! Though, admittedly, it's seen a bit of a decline in recent years. PC just needs to find its Skrillex! I'll give it another, mmm, three years!

Just listened to "Snow Globe" by Dux Content. The song is simply perfect. It is so unbelievably tacky and so completely straight faced and sincere about it, the whole experience of listening to it becomes hilariously surreal.

This feels like satire to me. It's so empty sounding, like, if you described pop music to a robot and asked it to make a pop song, this would be it.

Funny how Anthony was pretty skeptical of this genre, but he put a PC Music song at number 4. Hey, I probably shouldn't talk though, if you were to pitch (heheh, *pitch*) this idea to me, I would have thought that it was some kind of joke, but I really enjoy it.

I feel like the whole PC music thing might have some roots in an episode of Nathan Barley about a woman who pretends to be a 13-year old popstar/sex worker with a coke habit for a magazine, and sings a very PC music-like song about having a 'bad uncle' who abused her. Weirldy performance art but also just commercial gain for a magazine spot and 50 quid.

I kinda like it, it's like a tongue in cheek approach to early 2000's (golden) era pop that I feel like needs to happen.

Too much hinges on concept over actual enjoyment; like vaporwave, it's an interesting refraction of sounds we've all heard that would otherwise just be cast off as artless background noise. But it still sounds really bad to me - if you were to play the latest dance pop single and then a PC Music single, I'd think both were part of the same Big-EDM machine. But what do I know. I guess I just don't 'get it'

Now, whenever I hear the outro, I think of the Long T.V. episode. Where he loops him saying "Be excellent to each other," for 10 minutes.

A lot of people keep trying to say that this is some "statement" and a satire of corporate pop music, without realizing that it probably is corporate pop music.

Thank you both so much for the video! Now I've found PC music and bubblegum bass, which are my new favourite things ever, just wow, such a fresh sound! To me it is a perfect mix of 90's dance pop (that I listened to as a child), the sounds of early console games and a futuristic, experimental take on it all :) And I just love how the vocals often have humane imperfections. Also, I dare you all to check my channel for poppy electronic tracks that lately have been greatly inspired by PC music :D

I remember a comment coming from a comment section of a PC Music track that basically said that it's the same extremism that Death Grips provides, but it's the other way. Instead of super raw and guttural it's incredibly bright and saccharine and grossly sweet. Music to disorient and disconcert and frankly creep the fuck out and attached to some sort of musical politics. It's actually a pretty good way to think about it I believe. Also, for people wanting to get into PC Music, probably the easiest entry is SOPHIE - NOTHING MORE TO SEE, and then go from there.

The problem with trolls and butthurt fans is, even though you may not completely get the genre, you still show it to us in an understandable matter. I'd never know of vaporwave or soundclown as a specific genre if it wasn't for this channel. So keep doing what you do and fuck the trolls :D
