@@ravenbagchair3257 which is funny since Rebecca's Mystique is one dimensional and doesn't really do much than a sexy naked female fighter. These simpletons
Yeah, but to be fair it's not the first time someone startled Emma in this. I guess after getting comfortable with the team she didn't feel the need to constantly scan their minds whenever they're around
not really.... cmon dude, emma isnt constantly scanning her closest friends and teammates to make sure they're the real deal. even if she was, it wouldn't matter, mystique is highly resistant to telepathy. even xavier struggles to perform basic telepathic functions on her. it's not that far fetched when you think about it.
Mystique: The man I love is gone. You could never be him. *leaves Seems like BS she tells herself just so she could be bad. She & Wolverine could almost make something like BatCat if she wasn't hung on fighting humans in the end.
That's pretty much the core of Mystique's character. She makes excuses for her actions at every turn with a classic narcissist's "that's just who I am" complex. She's so old that she's now almost completely set in her ways of distrust, and her hatred for humanity has extended to anyone who tries to protect them. She seems to apply this hate to Wolverine most crucially, because she thought he was dead after rescuing her from the Weapon X lab, which broke her. Then he suddenly shows up with no memory of their romantic history, and in the company of her bitter rivals, the X-Men. These traits and events are what make Mystique one of the greatest Marvel characters (as well as one of the most underrated). As these clips show, she still has some underlying feelings for Wolverine (a love-hate relationship in the truest sense), but she's so consumed by her cynicism and narcissism that she sees no future for them. And because we, the audience, would enjoy seeing them get back together, we're consistently interested in where their story will go. Really clever storytelling and characterisation from Marvel there.
The woman who voiced her here was pretty good, too bad she didn't do anything else afterwards. Anyone agrees or think i'm just blowing out nothing but hot air? Just feel free to tell me folks!
I know I never understood why the animation and everything was so good. This was one of the first marvel things I ever watched and I loved being introduced to all these characters
@@jakejosh3322 I'm pretty sure it's because the money ran out. More specifically, the money that the investment group that partnered with marvel to fund the project ran out. After that, Marvel tried to fund it as an in-house project, but the bad blood with fox at the time made it hard to get that decision approved.
Mystique absolutely has to be one of the top 10 femme fatales/henchwoman in pop culture. She’s the epitome of a sleuthing spy and she technically never was trained to be one, yet by her imitations, manipulation, and deception. She’s virtually all over the Marvel universe, always wrapped up on some plot or scheme of her own.
Same. As a kid whenever she was on screen I thought she was very pretty/hot. Coming back to this series via these clips, nothing has changed. I need to rewatch this show however. Also I think this version of her is hotter than the live action version, no dis to the live actress of course.
Mystique may be mysterious as an enemy to the X-Men but she can transformed into heroes, whatever she can. : ) Love her looks by the way. Did you know that Mystique is also Lady Illusion, voiced by Tamara Bernier Evans from "Ace Lightning" and the voice of Dr. Helen Spritz [Sharon's mom] "Braceface" ? : )
Mystique has so many lovers in her life. Some resulted in her having children like Nightcrawler and Graydon Creed, and some resulted in tragedy, like Destiny and Wolverine.
@@JUSHSH also this show is actually a lot darker and while it suits the show I don’t think it suits other shows like Avengers Earths Mightiest Heroes since people like to consider those two shows connected.
@@comicbookking3446 I mean even when Nightcrawler was around Mystique had little to nothing to do with him. If you had said Rogue it makes more sense but yall always bash the adopted kid
@@yotaotenki1228 She's Rogue's mother. It is annoying how you Nightcrawler fans always bash Rogue for being adopted when ironically she is Mystique's favorite kid
@@kisaragistation5220 Dude, I was just trying to make fun of the fact that Wolverine is Nightcrawler's friend in the comics and he already banged his mother, I know that Rogue is Mystique's daughter too, chill, I just wanted to do comedy
Mystique can't copy powers or enhance her body mass so when she became Colossus how did she do that heavy punch that sounded like her mass enhanced? She can sort of enhance herself to mimic abilities but that comes from her. For example when she wanted to pass a sabretooth once sabertooth is quite stronger than her physically so she briefly enhanced her own strength using her ability to sort of enhance her musculature a little but wolverine knew that it wasn't sabertooth because sabertooth is much stronger so her enhancements can only go so far since she can't straight up copy abilities .
@@pc2749 well here's an overview of her weaknesses: Weaknesses Appearance Limitation: Originally, it was clearly stated that Mystique's powers were limited to appearances only; she could not assume the powers of the people she morphed into or alter her body to adapt to different situations. Although Mystique's powers were enhanced, Mystique could never duplicate the powers of other superhumans, and she still cannot duplicate the powers of the person she imitates: for example, when she turned herself into a duplicate of Nightcrawler, she did not gain the ability to teleport. However, she can use her powers to mimic the powers of others; such as assuming the form of Sabretooth, and then using her powers to enhance her senses, strength, speed, agility, and of course naturally heal at an accelerated rate. Unchangeable Body Mass: While she can make herself look exactly like a person who is physically bigger than herself, she will not weigh as much as the real person does. As such, she will be considerably weaker than the true person she copies, as evidenced by her form of an impostor Sabretooth, where her powers were less effective than the genuine Sabretooth. Also, the longer she takes a form of someone with greater mass, the greater a strain on her body which could reach a "breaking point" where she is forced to turn back into her normal self. Since her enhancement, Mystique has stated that her body mass now changes when she does, although the truth as with everything concerning Raven Darkhölme, remains shrouded.
I'll take your word for it since I don't know a lot about the order of events within x men history, but it doesn't really break anything in the show (from what I've seen at least).
@@QTRemnant IDK about the comics, but it's weird that this is structured to cater to longtime fans, with no formal introduction for many characters, but I'd think Mystique and Gambit should've been known for a while--especially since this show was inspired by an early 2000s comic run.
@@OpticalSorcerer If you put like that, then I agree. Never thought it was weird since I first watched this series (while it was still on nicktoons) after seeing some or all 3 original x men movies and x men origins, so some characters were new to me and others weren't.
@@QTRemnant Overall, while I like thr "prevent the future" concept, I'm not a fan of the series due to how it treated it's characters--even the heroes: 1. Wolverine gets the most fleshed-out character and all filler episodes. The title is TOO accurare. I blame Fox for making X-Men too Wolverine-centric. 2. Jean and Scott are reduced to being the only important things in each other's world, and Emma is of on-and-off importance; she and Scott discover what really destroyed the mansion, invalidating Beast's role in the series. 3. Rogue and Nightcrawler have reduced lines/importance when rejoining the X-Men after their mini-arcs. 4. Storm and Angel only get one major episode each, after which Angel/Archangel never talks again and is just a pawn while Storm isn't as utilized as she has been in other series. 5. Bobby, Shadowcat, Forge, and Beast are mainly placeholders. Forge stresses out about the Blackbird, Bobby and Shadowcat start to form a relationship (and that's their focus), while Beast investigates the mansion being destroyed--which is all for nothing. Overall, Evolution and the 90s series created more interesting and fleshed-out characters and stories without it being "Wolverine.....and the X-Men."
@@OpticalSorcerer I agree, tho to be fair, this only has one season. The other two had at least four, so who knows what we missed out on from this show had it kept going
is this a new X-Men series? last ones I saw was 90's and Evolution, yeah I'm that behind lol it looks good when did it come out and how many seasons so far
How could anyone stifle this gem with a whole season next season waiting in the wings.🤗 Let get some groundswell going! I known I’m not the only one who wants some closure, in regard to the farewell glimpse of Apocalypse💥 Hail New Jerusalem🏞
Wild guess here, but i think a huge reason plenty of pre disney marvel shows didn't last long is due to the over designed art style they all had. Right?
No because this and earths mightiest heroes ARE Disney cartoons, and they were cancelled cus the avengers movie happened right after, and they wanted brand synergy instead of good shows. Oh, and they didn’t own Fox at the time, so they didn’t want to do nothing with x-men and fantastic four cus Disney thought that would promote the Fox films
@@Albino_Basilisk. Just because there's a cartoon for something, or anything else about stuff, doesn't mean it's completely related. For example, Sonic Prime isn't a game advertisement, tie in, or in any other way related to recent games, like Sonic X was to past games, their just running concurrently in order to keep people's eyes on the franchise! Shouldn't this be the soul reason(besides money) behind these be this?
@@Albino_Basilisk. I know, and it's frankly depressing, given that there's already so mutch right e.m.h.'s first season done right, til 2 where it got messy!
So...when she shape shifts it's just her body that changes, it's not supposed to copy powers (I'm looking at you not-colassas). There shouldn't of been any metal sounds, nor if she fought using Logans claws they're just like fingers, not sharp, not metal
3:09 Mystique is a Almost Great Content everywhere she Goes, she a Mysterious Woman & Mutant, especially with Rogue & Nightcrawler are Involved! Wolverine and The X-men did the Best on touching her History, but they Didn't get Multiple Seasons to explore that Storyline more! 🥲
