N14 cummins had rough idle, would not speed up past 55mph like if it had a governor, would die before coming to a stop. if idling and would press full throttle engine would die. Also at full throttle while stopped, white smoke would spit out of the exhaust, and all these problems occurred when it reached full temperature around 175 farenheit. Before this video I put on a new fuel filter and check valve coming out of ecm cooling plate, also took off hose and ran fuel directly from bucket to fuel pump, return line went to the same bucket of fuel and showed minor air bubbles. much more air bubbles before filter change, could not see bottom of bucket before. Truck runs perfect on the road while hoses are in the bucket, problem was it was sucking air somewhere between cooling plate and fuel tank. This is a 2000 volvo with plastic fuel hoses, I took them off piece by piece and put thread lock on connections and blew air into each one with the other end closed with finger to see if not cracked anywhere. also cleaned out the cooling plate from minor debris, checked with shop air to see if not cracked, it was good.
