I am 7 months into a legal separation with my narcissist husband. I am sure he is sociopathic, so obviously narcissistic. I cannot tell you all the horrible painful things he has put me through. I thought sex addiction was the issue, but even when he managed a few months of sobriety he continued to gaslight, and control me. Jesus gently led me to make healthy decisions for myself which only cause more rage towards me from the narcissist. It was hell. But I am healing, and finding who I am again. Slowly. I will tell you the saddest thing I’ve read recently was reading the comments on one of Dr Ramani’s videos. She specialize only in narcissism, and has helped me so much. In one of the comments someone said, “Covid shelter in place has been pretty easy for me because I alway feel this extreme isolation”. I broke, because I had the very same thought several times. The sad thing is that comment had over three hundred likes and several comments expressing the same sentiments. The isolation and the head games is the hardest part to heal from.
This was amazing. The toughest part for me is being in an abusive situation (at work) and believing that God still cared. It's an age-old question. I had to slowly walk into a place where I truly believed that He does care. Because he does. :o)
You find that narcissistic people are found a lot in the work place. One has to stay focused on Christ and always bless those who curse you and pray for your enemies. Gaurd against taking offense because that is one of the traps for Christians.
As always,you were able to talk about this subject with loving kindness and such a gentle spirit. This subject is such a deep, deep, extremely evil problem with so many these days. There is healing for the Narc....the problem is that they have to want it and walk in it....and sadly, they can't see it, they don't want it and they are convinced everyone else has a problem. The only healing in the relationship is for the victim to get away from them, you can't keep boundaries with them...they won't allow it and will overrun every boundary put up. They may even be normal without a victim...once they have one, the Jezebel behind them fires right up and begins to weave the web....they really have no control of themselves.
I'm a 48 yr old woman. My dad is severely narcissistic, along with paranoid, extremely angry, verbally and emotionally abusive, and was physically abusive to my younger brother when we were growing up. After living in such a toxic home under dad's dictatorship all our lives, we became sick physically and mentally. My mom has Fibromyalgia, my brother has MS, and I suffered from migraines up until about a year ago when the Lord set me free from them. For the past ten years I've had little to no contact with my dad. He has tried to manipulate me into coming to visit him, but I couldn't put my children and spouse in his toxic presence. He's 80 now, but the little contact that I've had has confirmed he's not any different and he's possibly worse. I feel horrible for his 3rd wife because she's legally blind and has to depend on him and all he cares about is himself. My brother and I both married narcissists in our 1st marriages. Thank God we both got away from them and have loving caring spouses now. My parents were married for 27 years even though my dad wasn't faithful. My mom never married again. About 2 years ago, the Lord gave me a dream where he declared I was set free from manipulation. Right after that one of my childhood friendships was severed and I knew the Lord was setting me free from her (its been a weird recovery because I feel peace in the spirit, and I've also felt like I was mourning at times). I pray for her a lot. Narcissism spread it's evil tentacles wide and deep in our family, but NO MORE! I refuse to live in fear anymore because my strength comes from the Lord! I decree my family is free from the enemy of our soul, in the name of Jesus!! I pray and decree each of you are free in Jesus name!! Amen!!🙏🙌❤

Patricia, I have observed a rise in the spirit of narcissism, it almost feels like the norm, it's everywhere, an evil spirit, a charmer of many colours and personalities.
My 40 years of experience is that if you have not gone through it; or walked in my shoes. Your knowledge of these half humans half something else is limited. This is Jezebel on a level that most don't know about. One of the biggest things is that nothing lines up. Their words never line up; there's no fruit. No fruit of fellowship with God. The relationship is nice for a moment and the next moment, the narc hates you for no reason at all. It's a cycle I experienced for over 30 years. God delivered me from the relationship a while ago. I praise God for the years of learning. I would marry my narc all over again; just for the knowledge that I've obtained. Most people will not believe our story. I used to be one of those people.
25 years....took a miraculous act of God to get me out, If I had not left when I did, he would have killed me. My narc was my furnace and taught me about myself, my identity, and the Grace God has for the narc and victims....God wanted to free him more than I did and gave him so many chances...but he could not get free. It's still hard for me to grasp they do not have a soul, can't feel, receive or give love...I used to be a victim of Jezebel. I am now an overcomer.
No empathy whatsoever, also not tuned into your pain and cannot celebrate your successes! You deserve better and they cannot edify anybody but themselves! You are better off without this co-dependency!
@David Leslie : You have to leave your parents house even if you have to live at a homeless shelter. They usually help you find an apartment anyway. It is not healthy to be in an emotionally unstable environment. Your caseworker at the shelter will help you get over your addictions. Ask Jesus to fill you with the Holy spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues. Those homosexual desires will begin to fade. You are loved.💝

@@CapeFearCaneCorso You are soo right. Yes, it takes a miracle of God. I believe my demise was coming sooner or later. I believe that God loves the narc so much that I was someone my husband could learn from. Not saying that I was perfect. My husband saw so many miracles, signs and wonder through out the years of our union and still didn't change. He would change for a moment and open a door for satan to re enter and things continue to get worse with him.
My observation over 50 years is that the majority of "professional" spiritual leaders develop a strong self-focus due to the adoration and money they receive. Many of these leaders progress along the path from selfishness to narcissism. Clear markers are not only the psychological and even physical abuse they mete out but also their wealthy lifestyle compared to their parishioners/followers and the lame rationalizations offered . Only by anchoring your self-worth, ego, and identity in Christ Jesus can you live free from the three deadly sins enumerated by Saint John: lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of life.
THESE PEOPLE ARE TRULY IMPOSSIBLE TO DEAL WITH...UNLESS THEY ARE FREED BY ELOHIM..OTHERWISE, THEY ARE FAR TOO GONE...HUMAN WISDOM CAN'T DEAL WITH POSSESSION..AND I THINK THESE NARCISSIST ARE POSSESSED.
My experience has shown me a different viewpoint. I have learned that the narcissist is constantly battling self condemnation for past sins. They have to find value anywhere they can - to prove the condemning voices wrong. The insatiable appetite for adoration is trying to numb the shame. It’s not because they love themselves - it’s actually the opposite. But beware if you get between them and whatever gives them value! They will crush you and then get angry at you when you express pain.
Thank you Patricia for putting this on FB. I just finished listening and you prayed. I feel something stirring in my soul, I can’t describe. I and my granddaughter (Kaylie) have been victims of my daughter (Christi). I now understand this. Neither one of us could ever do anything right and everything was ALWAYS our fault. Christi hasn’t spoken to me in years and has turned my 3 grandsons against me. Kaylie was always treated like her personal slave and the boys could do no wrong. Christi is very successful in sales; has traveled the world and spends money like it is always abundant....even if she is spending her father-in-laws money.....who graciously hands it out by the 10’s of thousands. I have loved her so much and longed for a relationship for so long. I try not to even think of her anymore. I do pray for her though. She has been an alcoholic for years too. Please advise me what steps I should take. I am 79 and she will be 46 in May. HELP ☹️😣😖😫😩😢😭😤😠😡🤯 confused and exhausted. Helen. P. S. I’ve recently come out of dating two “Christian” narcissists back to back. (One year break in between to “heal”). It was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced in my entire adult life and both were so subtle I didn’t know what happened until the damage was already done. Ironically both were “dedicated Christian men”. I was even diligently almost daily praying and seeking God during these relationships! I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. I want to add I respectfully disagree with Ms. King on only one point based on my experience. You can’t just stop at the cross with these types of people. Their only hope doesn’t just stop at the cross, it’s THEIR SURRENDER (look at the fruit) to the cross. The only way out of this is your surrender. If you’re not seeing the fruit of a surrendered life, just run. Run fast. It’s not worth the head games and damage. Human love doesn’t fix this. The book was one of many I went to for help during this time.
Very good and interesting! I have also seen charistmatic, genuine, wonderful, loving people being accused of narcissism because their christlikeness draws people to them. Then it is ironically especially those with the most narcissistic tendencies who accuse them of narcissism when their longings are not met.
Any one, that has lived with Addictions, Alcohol etc, know that narcissistic personality comes with the territory.Codependance i know i was in DV for many many years, even as a Christian did not get set free. My husband got sober.he Was a Christian too, but not living for God.BUT Still had a very serious gambling addiction.in The end gambling killed him He had many encounters with the Lord.butwas Not interested it seems..i have forgiven him.but My life is a lot happier now.
10 years married to one...no one in the church spotted it, especially me and I've been to prophetic conferences etc. Expert actress. It's weird how all these prophetic types cant spot em or God doesn't expose them. It's rife; especially in the pulpit where the adulation is. Sick.
Patricia, is narcissism a Spirit that can possess and/or attach to a person? I fully understand the types of narcissism, clinical NPD, and underlying psychological basis of it; but, have wondered about the spiritual aspects. Thank you in advance for your answer.
