I think action sequences look much better in the new style, but the old style is much better when it comes to dramatic moments.

The new animation only focuses on saturation and contrasts instead of the emotional meaning of the given scene. For example 4:40 the light in the old version makes pain look devine, there's nothing wrong about lighting up even dark parts or black outlines of a scene if it fits the context

New animations has bright colors which sometimes makes it look like a cartoon, while original ones are densed, and it brings out more emotions.

In terms of comparision, the after effects such as light, shadowing and colouring have been improved. Yet we may agree that the overall drawing, lines, position and scene composition is better the way it is, in the old and good style.

No matter how clean the new style is, the old style is just so much better simply because it fits. You can feel much more darkness and emotion.

The Quality and overall effects are better in new one but the details and emotions are far better in old ones

The red and blue colors pop more in the newer version which makes blood, fox chakra, sharingan, chidori , and rasengan stick out a lot more. Dark!Sasuke also looks a lot more twisted this time around with the dark purple lighting. Itachi also got quite the glow up.

Man, I miss the artstyle of early Shippuden, it felt so unique after finishing the og Naruto. Still believing they should've sticked to this style to the very end instead of constantly changing it.

Their faces look so much better in the old animation, their emotions are much more raw and visible... And quite frankly, everyone looks prettier in the old one

The lighting and the effects are clearly better since studios nowadays have more to work with, however, I don't like how they decided to change the artstyle to a more cartoonish style. I liked the realism in the original art direction and it is also truer to the source material.

I'm really happy that so many of us have the same opinion - that we prefer the original and more emotional style, even if the quality can wildly vary. I do enjoy the improved lighting and FX, but really preferred how the characters looked older in the original. Very odd seeing Sausage and Nardo in some of these new shots.

There's something about the old art style that makes the cast look more mature, whereas the new art style makes them look younger. I think the older style makes more sense in this case as the cast ages throughout the show and is my personal preference regarding them becoming mature within the timeline. That said, the new technique does look nice in some aspects. I love how they made it a point to highlight the sharingan to show the viewers a direction they should be looking at and the details within effects are much more highlighted than they were previously. I noticed in the newer art style, things were more round as opposed to pointed. Like their hair or chins, for example, the roundness provides a "cuter" look as opposed to the sharp edges look. Perhaps this is why the older style appears to be more mature than the new one? I will say, not a fan of 1:18 new cloak Naruto... Not sure what happened there but the perspective of the face was probably not the animator's forte, and that's okay. Things happen and perspective is hard. All in all, pros and cons to the new style. It's not bad and looks good in certain aspects but is also not my favorite at times.

there's a BIG problem here. the art style of the PV is NOT designed to be watched in paused frames. smear makes it much smoother, specially in comparison with early Naruto. The comparison should be made in active movement.

More detail in the original. The colors are bolder. If I had to choose though, remake gets it for me. The effects, the animation, the glow, the feels, it's amazing.

I feel the direction of the original was much better and made more sense in some scenario's , 6:31 the original has a lot more weight and shock to it than the new one. 6:49 visible eye damage due to mangekyo abuse whereas the new one is just purely normal. A LOT of the new ones look good but that's simply because newer technology and effects being much easier made than in the past. 4:13 Sasuke's mouth looks very off putting but if the bloodied eyes combined with the OG blur and definition, it'd be beyond GOAT frames. 4:42 contrary to what some say that the blur in OG is weird, in this specific scene it sets the tone just all too well and it kinda boosted the art quality, new one looks too goofy. 5:51 no need to say much the new version takes this by a LANDSLIDE I'm biased and surprised how good the OG was looking for it's time compared to the new PV but it'd be amazing if we had the old style with newer techniques meshed together.

Can’t quite put my finger on which one is my favorite at 6:30 Left side is iconic and right one looks more sadistic. The right one makes sasuke looks like he’s smiling. They’re both well done imo.

I love to see how original the PV is to the basic work (example: more bloody, Sasuke's Susano with 6 fingers, certain moments with the exact lines of the manga and others that I forget)

I find myself liking the right mostly due to coloring and less of that weird blur effect they always used, not to mention the og had some moments where they needed a second revision lol. Though I’ll say that some of the og one’s hold up better and it’s awesome to see some timeless frames of our boy still look so damn nice

cool, they change most of the perspective and point of view, which is much more better this time, also I love they way they show expressions in here, it’s much more detailed and way more realistic even the proportion are recreated much more properly, like the size of Itachi’s hand is way bigger now, or when Madara shows up, his 3/4 face is presented more accurately outside of that, I love the lighting too, thank you Studio Pierrot and whoever other studio involved in creating this, you did such amazing job, this is probably how Naruto should’ve been if they had more time to work on without time restrictions

Remake just has that depth and intensity in it. Especially in the naruto vs sasuke scene. Like it brings to light the emotions of the characters through all their journeys, huddled perfectly into a legendary fight scene!

Old art style is better, the new just made the colors and lighting better. Old feels more solid and present on screen. New feels thin and flat

I wouldn’t say every single screenshot was an improvement and I do believe that some “manga-like moments” are lost. But damn, that trailer got me hyped! Hope we get a good announcement this 17th of December.

The original almighty push looked so much better from a still shot, but the animation of the scene itself definitely improved... Kinda hard to live up to that though, it's such a legendary panel in the manga, with so much attention to small detail.

My opinions who hasn't watched Naruto: - Old: 1. Better at cinematography, every frame is gorgeous and can literally be used as wallpaper because it's very aesthetic, I mean look at Old of 3:50 (the character sitting), it looks like a delicate painting instead of an Anime's frame. 2. Has a clear art direction. The artists know what they were trying to achieve in every frame. 3. You can feel the artists/animators soul in every frame, you can feel their anger and sadness through the characters' expressions. They were putting themselves into the positions of the characters. 4. Makes me want to watch the anime (which the New fails to do) 5. They don't need cheap dramatic compositions/angles (which are overused in modern animes) to make the frames look cool, the frames look extremely intense because there have already been emotions put inside them. 6. Don't have cheap VFX. - New: 1. Better colors/saturations and has more colors' values (just because it's new and is created by modern computers). 2. Not better at anything else.

What everyone is forgetting is the anime at the time follows the style Kishimoto in the manga. When Kishimoto changed his style, the anime also follows. This pv use the last style Kishimoto uses for the whole characters.

In the new art its weird because they try to make it too smooth and enlarge facial features it makes them look squishy than serious but the new coloring and effects are good

shippuden for the most part doesn't have drastic changes. The art style of the original shipppuden became more modernized as it ran after all

I prefer the old art much more, they were drawn bolder Nowadays they're drawn pretty flat and it looks cheap It's actually a lot easier to recreate modern scenes and frames then it was back then Attesting to the drop in detail however they improved vastly on lighting and shadow detail so that's the trade off I prefer bolder animation, doesn't look fan drawn and adds depth, literally and figuratively, to the characters on screen

The old style is way better it’s more mature and darker in tone which matches the show better. The new animations focuses way too much on saturating the colors and contrast and adding excessive after affects to hide the lack of detail or care for emotional depiction. Examples 4:40 and 5:51 and especially 8:01

I prefer the old artstyle even in naruto part 1 now that I re watching some episodes. It was less clean they look more beaten up in the old one and I love it. In the Sasuke- Itachi's farewell scenes their hair looks so much better and fuller on the old artstyle😍😍 Hidan looks amazing and brutal on the old. Asuma looks better at the new artstyle I guess

I have a few small questions 3:58 why Itachi still has red sharingan eyes, he already became blind. 4:12 why would Sasuke's eyes bleed, he didnt use any abilities. 6:17 that's too much anime blood. And also why susano have 6 fingers?

the effect and animation in pv really great and amazing but the character in old style shows more consistanly design than the pv. but its really really good to have this remake in this time.

The main problem with this is the comparison photo to the remaster isn't the highest quality but I appreciate the effort tho.

Imo, the old style is better and is more detailed, and the colour choices in some scenes are better too. The emotional scenes are better too. while the new one is more saturated and mostly has better colour choices and it honestly looks cartoonish and obviously the animation is better
