Hi from France, I'm an Aussie who lives i France now,i'm from Melbourne, from French parents, i'm 61 now, I've always driven big trucks. But,um...i've always suffered from dépression, I always thought that i was an odd ball, border line nut-case. But lately, I've come to realise that i'm far from being alone, thanks to people like you who bring up the subject. And yeah you can do some amazing shit being "depressive",you are far from being useless,It's just that you really don't quite fit in,but to be honest i really don't want to fit in,I just prefer doing my own thing not owing anything to any-one. You know you're not à rat-bag,I grew up in Broadmedows, I like your honesty, that no bullshit way of getting the job done,I love that accent (i've still got mine),but yeah love your style, don't change.
Comedic Metal Cooking Mental Health Man is indeed a superhero. And a fucking true Aussie legend who helps so many with his honesty, self-effacing humour, emotional intelligence and bravery.
Mate. Thank you for your honesty. As a religious person, you have hit the nail on the head about church. I feel like I’m standing alone screaming in the wind in trying to advocate for people getting therapy. It’s so devalued in church. Thank you 💛
Hey Nat! You are a super hero to many of us champion! You got a lot of us through a really tough time, made us all laugh and are a genuinely awesome dude! You are Australia's Super Hero! :D You would be welcome at my table anytime mate!
As someone who is now in my 40's and has battled depression since highschool... Cheers Nat, because "Just asking someone (even a stranger) if they are ok and then listening" can save a life... hell it saved mine. I was at an auto electricians when HE said "I think you are suffering from depression mate." Once identified, you can then work on the problem and talk about it rather than suffering in a bubble alone. Thanks Nat. YOU are the champion.
Ummm... 1) Cooking videos that make millions of people all around the world laugh, take focus away from their struggles for a few minutes, and help them to eat healthier. 2) Spreading the word about the prevalence of mental health issues and that it's OK to not be OK. 3) Most of all, stating that you wouldn't trade those troubles in because the knowledge they give you helps you to be a better friend. Nat, you ARE a f-cking superhero! Sending you and Jules all the very best. You are the champignons of champions! 💕
Hearing "take the piss" sounds very strange for someone living in America who has not heard that saying often! 🤣 I loved this, Nat! I'm glad I found your channel. My husband and I love hearing Jules laugh at you in the background haha!
A bloody good point there Nat, being able to understand what your mates are going through. It’s a really good thing us Veterans have is the understanding we have for each other! Fuck it’s saved me once or twice!! Keep at it mate!
You learnt a lot from your experiences in the church good and bad there are times when l listen to you about kindness and be kind that is christ like as you say try and be kind to yourself lm 70 and l still struggle with that one luv steph
Dunno if you’re still readin comments mate but well done jumpin up there and havin a go. It made me think and laugh, so if that was ya goal - well done champion!
There are groups of recovering catholics and some types of therapy would be great for that type of issue: EDMR, ISTDP, Scheme Therapy. Judging oneself is a process and unconscious behaviour - it can be changed.
