Naväge nasal care review GROSS OUT WARNING

I review the Navage nasal care machine in this video. If you are in construction, work with wood, or any type of material that creates dust, you should consider getting one of these. the more dust you inhale from different materials the greater chance of developing allergies and sinusitis. I do a review and a demo in this video. it may be a bit gross for those with weak stomachs.
if you are interested in getting one of these you can get one here
navage.refr.cc/williamgelvin and get a $20 off code.

Hi. Loved your review. I have one of these and it’s strangely addictive. I wanted to say I think you were doing it slightly incorrect. The priming (first stage) should be done while it’s in your nose. It makes a suction seal (feels like your brain will get sucked out). So push the button 1/2 in for a couple of seconds and then push button all the way in. That makes a seal and doesn’t get any water anywhere. Also, I figured out this next thing after using it for a couple of months. The nose piece can be rotated so you can control which side the water goes in and comes out.

I typically have to get up most nights and go sleep in the guest room which irritates me lol Now I have the worst sinus infection of my life so I went out and bought my own & I have to say it cleared out some disgusting mucus from my sinuses and relived the pressure for awhile. My paternal grandfather (not a farmer, but a country boy) would use the farner's blow when he was outdoors and not among anyone other than family and casual friends. He was very skilled at it and included an final finger motion that caused the mucous to separate cleanly without messing his hands. Several of his admiring grandchildren, especially the boys, would try to emulate this action, unsuccessfully. Of couse, we don't know how long it took my granfather to master this skill.

Thanks for bringing it to our attention Will, but it looks more uncomfortable than just blowing it all out! I don't know if I could do it. I know what you mean about becoming more sensitive the more you're exposed. Looks a lot like what the doctor uses to clean ears out with. I've had hay fever (allergic to grass) for most of my life and woodworking just aggravates it to no end the older I get. I only have to set foot in the workshop these days and I'm a mess for the rest of the day. 100% correct about the exotic woods. My father always said to me don't worry too much about saw dust unless it's western red cedar. It will make your nose bleed if it gets up there so wear a mask when you're working with that.

I had a turbinoplasty last July. I’m still getting excessive amounts of mucus. I went from the squeeze bottle to the a machine called a hydropulse. It was messy- I would have water everywhere while using it, had to mix the solution myself, it had to be plugged in, and if I turned my head, water would come out. Today I picked up a navage, and I’m pretty pleased after first use. Seems to be worth the money spent.

Purchased over a year ago and hadn't used it until today which is why I was looking up videos. FYI - batteries still good. I've never done this is any form and based on reading the instructions as to how it works I figured I had to close off my throat (in one nostril out the other) and it was interesting the 1st couple of seconds but I did not have issues with my eustachian tube. Didn't experience what you did nor had the "snorts" (lack of a better description) as you did. Directions state to wet pillows, insert them then "prime" so to speak, not prime without inserting. Initially awkward but now that I've done it I know what to expect. It only takes about 10 seconds to complete. Clearly some will have different experiences. Thanks for the video.

if its a closed off AC building - then you may need it more than you know. alot of times a dirty ac filter = lots of particles and dust coming at ya!
@thatfeeble-mindedboy
@thatfeeble-mindedboy 4 года назад
… Andrew is right, whether the filters are dirty or not, you are also breathing air that has been dehumidified, and your sinuses will dry out, people often complain of dry mouth; especially pilots and flight attendants, and you basically can’t drink enough water to compensate for this, So sleeping with a humidifier, spending an extra few minutes in the shower breathing in the steamy air, all of this is going to help, but obviously irrigating the upper nasal passages it’s going to be the most aggressive way to rehydrate those tissues; also be aware that if you have allergies, as soon as it is reported that the pollen count, is up, you could start doing this more often, and possibly stop it before it starts.

@hellovicki6779
@hellovicki6779 Год назад
I think you mean bicarbonate of soda instead of baking soda plus the sodium chloride (salt) mixed in boiled water (reduced to tepid temperature). The salt and bicarb are diluted to specific concentrations that are isotonic (equivalent to body concentrations), for example normal saline ( salt plus H20) is 9 grams per litre or 1.8 grams for a cup of water (200mls). If the concentrations are off, it causes discomfort due to fluid shifting in or out of the contacted tissue/membrane.

I grabbed a gallon of distilled water from the grocery store and just ran it non stop. I had giant clumps of just nasty white floating balls come out of my face, which I assume were balls of plasticizers and other adjuvants from the pesticide. After about 2 weeks I didn't need to use it so often, I just went to morning a night, and at night it was only when i remembered. I feel completely different, I no longer have the crazy noises in my ear whenever I chew, and I can actually blow my nose. Not to mention taste and smell. I absolutely love the navage and the handful of dollars I spend on water and salt pods is well worth the quality of life it gave me back. I really recommend this thing to everyone, especially if they're in similar situations as me

What a great morning video. Now that's what I call entertainment! lol I've heard of people recommending NETI pots and other nasal cleaners, and the Navage has been on TV for quite a while. It's about time someone actually demonstrated its use (other than a paid actor in a commercial). Could be a "maybe" purchase, now. Good to see you with a bit more P & V (those of a certain age will know the term) in your demeanor. :)

Has it gotten easier to use now that you've had it for over a year, and are you actually still using it? I have allergies and my noise gets really plugged up I've heard this will really help it also flushing stuff like pollen out

This was an interesting video in regards to using the Navage nasal cleaner. I have seen ads on tv for this product and have wondered if it really works. Also, I have used a neti pot for years and it definitely works, but it takes a while to get used to the feeling of "drowning" and it is also kind of messy if you don't have your head tilted jus right.

Haha, paused right after you did the farmers blow, I was actually in the midst of a panic attack so, that snapped me right out of it. I know little about allergies (no real excuse, google search just isn't the dopamine hit I'm looking for), that said, growing up, Mum couldn't keep me away from creepy crawlies and basically anything that would scare the average person. I became allergic to bees, but than apparently I kept getting stung and became immune. I've naively assume the same of woods, I actually stopped would carving, my got to is tightly compacted MDF, even if I only use hand tools, the dust is extremely fine, I've been trying to make a dust collector that is quiet and can move a decent surface area. That said, I've not done anything with wood in a week or more, did a farmers blow in the shower last night and learnt a quick and easy way to block your ears for an hour and still have a blocked nose. Winning. Thought I'd add, I tinker with my guitars all the time, in fact I have 9 and not one is fully functional... Can't seem to stop tinkering, ironic! I watch all the typical guitar channels, most end up becoming background noise, takin a back seat to my ADHD. You're clear, concise, no bull and amusing. You've helped me understand so much and a lot of that I've passed on to others, so, yep, sincerely appreciate your work!

The Navage is like having your eardrums sucked out through your sinuses. It's weird at first but I nuke the cup of water to warm it (not heat it - around body temp) but once you've got yourself cleaned out (depending on your situation - doing wood-working & guitar work you probably need it every day) but I only have to do it every 3rd day to keep cleaned out. When I worked as an electrician, sometimes we'd do big remodels & have several trades working in the same space at the same time (drywall, plumbers, electricians etc.) & all kinds of shit would be flying around in the air (those plumbers can use some noxious crap) but I've found, for the absolute best results, do a Neti pot 1st to loosen everything up (if you're really clogged up) & then to the Navage. It just depends on how the Navage works for you. Is it not the weirdest feeling? I actually put it in the nose, push the button down halfway until a suction develops, & then push the button all the way but I've got a deviated septum.

I refinished my grandmas piano years ago and the dust f'd me up, after years of construction products like OSB have a smell to them that's like licking a skunks ass... Interestingly enough, I've been considering getting a nose enema. This was helpful as I have very sensitive ears that are prone to infection, no can do something that messes with those tubes, Thanks Will, this not only saved me some money but possibly months of ear problems, not for me but I think it's a good product for regular folks, I'll mention it to a couple people I know could use it, :)

You are 100 percent right about the feel - being a master scuba diver trainer and having spent a large portion of my life with saltwater in my nasal cavity, I can see where it's not comfortable- as a scuba instructor - the hardest thing students had to get over is having water in your sinuses. I am now retired and on O2 at night for sleep apnea and I wake to a crusticated sinus and blow chunks out for hours. ( also weld and compressor spray paint. So I got one let's see how it goes - thanks for the heads up
