Thank you for this video. We were able to open our machine and clean it. We found out our diffuser plate was not clogged at all; the leak was due to the internal cavities of the black pieces behind the silver nozzle being super clogged. We even found pieces of a broken capsule trapped in there 😱 Thanks for sharing.
Excellent video, followed it and got my Nespresso machine working perfectly again. Particularly liked the idea for fabricating an oval screw extractor - getting it to the correct size was a bit hit and miss, but succeeded in the end. Replaced these screws with Pozi self tappers for future cleaning. I really appreciate videos that show you how to beat the manufacturers’ obduracy!
Thank you!! This was so helpful! We managed to fix the issue and it’s working like brand new again. We got the driver from Shopee for 3.50 including shipping. Just a note though, we accidentally unplugged the water tubing at the bottom and it was leaking from the bottom, managed to plug it back and it’s all ok
Wow, probably the best video to clean this Nespresso model… even though you made it look easy, I have no patience to not break this machine during disassembly. I will forward this machine as I sell mine to buy a new one…
Just do it in situ? - 5 minutes ago I finished, I literally had mine filling up the entire waste tray with every coffee made and I just ran vinegar through it over and over, and got a toothbrush and scrubbed down in the front where the water flows through on the output side and kept running white vinegar through it, now I can get through the entire water tank without any drops in the waste tray, took me 10 minutes all up to just do a basic toothbrush scrub and run maybe 40 cycles of vinegar through it, after it was no longer leaking, I ran 2 whole tanks of water through it, now all clear and no more leaking.
I had a similar problem, water everywhere. I spoke with the Nespresso service centre who were so helpful. All they told me to do was to get a toothbrush first of all. Where you open the top of the machine to put the capsule, put your finger inside and you will feel a rough circular disc, where your capsule presses against. That’s the area you need to clean. I got a glass of clean water which I dipped my toothbrush in and used to scrub the rough area. Keep rinsing the toothbrush after each scrub until the water is clean. Fill up the water container and press the lungs button. Bits of coffee waste will come through. Do this at least half a dozen times. You will find eventually there will be no leaks and you will have a proper flow of water coming through the spout. Time to make yourself the perfect coffee. It saved me purchasing a new machine. Mine is six years old. Works like new again. Hope this is of help. 😊
Thanks for your videos. They are very useful. I don't have that model of machine, so thankfully I didn't have the problem with the screws. However, I think that it's a disgrace that the company install these screws to make it impossible to repair oneself.
hi, that was very helpful. thanks very much for posting this. i am trying to repair my father's machine. he has a nespresso le cube. His unit was leaking the same way, in the chamber. I did take it apart and try to clean it and this improved matters but there is still a small leak. I didn't remove the diffuser plate yet. Is removing the diffuser plate on that model similar?
After putting together my machine now won't send water properly, half the amount stays trapped inside the capsule holder and comes out when I open the lid.
Thanks so much for explaining what the problem is! If I don't try to fix it, it's garbage. So I figure it can't hurt to try. I even found the right driver on eBay. But what if you need to replace the old rusty screws?
Great video, and also the others too. I have an odd question you may be able to answer. I have two Nespresso machines. One is Citiz, the other is Essenza mini (old model). The Citiz is 110V the Essenza is 220V. I wish to swap over the necessary electrical part so that the Citiz is using 220V pump etc. Are the internal electrical parts the same in these models? I know they are both 19bar. Thanks if you can help.
I spoke too early… the machine does not leak without a capsule in but does with. I have cleaned the diffuser plate and spout, and replaced the o-ring on the part that pushes the capsule forward. Can you suggest anything else I could try please?
@@jasonkirk1313 check out this video, pretty sure it was in the same place on my machine ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uaWXrxdIj8I.htmlsi=wotIZHX7T7iOzvAg
Thank you I have the same machine. I am having trouble with the start buttons one stopped working and the other you have to push real hard. Any ideas???
Yes. Moisture entered under your buttons and does not make clear contact. Open the case as I did in this video. Remove the rubber button cover. Take an ear swab with alcohol and clean the boards and the rubber buttons. This will remove any moisture and reastablish the contact.
My model is an old but well conserved Essenza Automatic. I was able to disassemble it but I am having a hard time to remove the diffuser plate, it doesn’t want to come off. Any suggestions?
Hi! There’s a metal clip holding the hose in place. Just use a screwdriver to slide it away to remove it. Once this is off, you can then pull out the hose.
Hmm as a lazier person who doesn’t trust myself to not break anything while disassembling and reassembling, I am going to try using a paper clip and a toothbrush to clean the diffuser plate.
Did you fix it without disassembling the machine? I don't trust myself so I want to try cleaning it without disassembling 😂 maybe you have tips how to. I already used a toothbrush and it looks a little better already but I want to prick the holes also.. 🤷♀️
if I can see properly, the oval screw has star socket with pin inside, you can get bits from BOSCH 1/4" HEX SHANK MIXED SCREWDRIVER BIT SET 32 PIECES, there is cheaper version with more exotic bits like: SILVERLINE 25MM HEX SHANK MIXED SECURITY BIT SET 33 PIECES, Bosch seems to have better quality.
