Neutopia II (ニュートピアII, Nyūtopia Tsū) is an action/adventure game developed by Hudson Soft for the PC-Engine in 1991. It was released for TurboGrafx-16 in 1992 and is the sequel to Neutopia. Players take control of Jazeta's son, who must begin a quest to both save his father and defeat Dirth. This game as well as the original was released on the PlayStation Network and Virtual Console.

You can see Link to the Past influences in this as well as the original Neutopia. It's really more of an imitation game than a clone, because it has its own unique aspects and features independent of Zelda.

I see it as the perfection of what Nintedo started on the NES, but never finished. I think the NES was rougly capable of doing a Zelda like Neutopia II, maybe with a slight reduction of colours and music channels, but otherwise similar. Yet Nintedo never tried what could have been the best Zelda. So I see Neutopia II as best Zelda ever. With the SNES things got overcomplicated, too big, and the music recycling get to annoying heights. Neutopia II on the other hand sounds beautiful throughout, masterpiece of chiptune music.

This is a cool game. All kinds of interesting stuff (by the way, did you know of the two boomerang loophole?) However... Seems to be a sequel plot hole. In Neutopia I, the princess I thought was named Aurora. And she ended up with Jazeta, asking him "Take me now and never let go!" Yet here it seems he didn't...and the princess he saved was Lily. Did something happen? Was there a mistranslation of the first game? (wouldn't be the first nor last time such a thing happened!) Or are the hero and Keia technically either siblings, or half siblings? The Princess from #1, is she...no more? Has she bloody demised? Snuffed it? Has she ceased to be? Expired and gone to meet her maker? She's a stiff? Bereft of life, does she rest in peace? Is she off her twig? Is she pushing up daisies? Has she kicked the bucket, shuffled off her coils, run down the curtains and joined the bleeding choir invisible? Are her metabolic processes of interest only to historians? Are all statements to the effect that this princess is still a going concern from now on inoperative? Did she buy the farm, and board the Spanish Train? Is she a late Princess? Is she dead, Jim? IS THIS AN EX-PRINCESS? (Sorry if it sounds like I'm beating a dead parrot here!) Or is the Neutopia time-line not really a time-LINE, but more like wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey...stuff? WHO would be able to figure this out?
