How many inputs is there. Not DAW returns but channel inputs. Including DANTE? At once?

Thanks for uploading this very interesting video, a bit hard to understand everything for French people like with the noise in background (not your fault ;) But I was wandering if an analog console integration + atmos could work in Logic with Dante converter + quick pcie Dante interface ? :) Thanks 🙂

Yes, it's hard enough for me to listen back to as English being my primary language. There were about 50+ people behind me. Yes this could probably work with Logic. Although Logic doesn't use the external atmos renderer and rather uses it's built in spatial audio renderer. Everything you say could and should be doable. Only drawback may be that it is built specifically for the Dolby Atmos renderer.

@@AudioAnimalsStudio Thanks a lot for your answer :) I was asking because I'm building a new home studio as a Dj producer with an upcoming 24 channels analog consoles + Dante converter and I'm studying what interface to buy and Focusrite announced Pcie Dante card with Apple Silicon support, roundtrip is not published but it should be good when using the card in a pcie chassis, having the possibility to insert analog channel strip directly in an atmos session could be awesome. But I'm lacking knowledge and I don't know if choosing this Focusrite could allow this Analog/Atmos integration in logic. Is there Protool Aux I/O equivalence in Logic ? I'm glad we can discuss here as all that amazing gears cost money and the worse thing is to make a mistake and resell.

By the time I could actually afford an analog console for my Atmos studio in the future, it'll be amazing to see where the technology will be 🤔

I honestly wouldn't bother. I'd have a nice DAW controller and work ITB. A large format console is great but only nessarry at a studio with large turn over and that needs to attract clients with a console.

@NoQualmsTheArtist yes but for me as a company it paid for itself within a few months with the amount of time it saved me. So it is an investment.

I hate it when people don't really answer the actual question. He got there eventually but also was incorrect about the max channels you can have. You can get a 128 channel console, they are side cart like items that add either side of the console. They don't have a photo of the 128 channel on SXPro but they do of the 96 channel. You can get a idea from that how the 128 channel would look like. The 48 channel one has a side cart so I'm not sure if it isn't configurable over more than 48 channels in Atmos or if he just didn't know it was expandable above that. All the time I see this with people presenting products at shows and wonder why they don't get someone that knows their line fully to present the items.

Hi there, thanks for the input, but you are incorrect. The maximum genesys black channel count is 48, this is called a G96, as it can mix down 96 through the channels and monitor parts. There are not 96 channel strips. Same with the G128, this is a 64 channel console. Hope that clears it up.

Seems like an overly complicated mess. Dolby atmos mixing in general. And which listeners would want to sit between the drummer and the singer or anywhere but in front of a band anyways? Do maybe some reverbs on the rear. Broaden the image a little using the sides. Done! No need for renderer and shit. If anybody can convince me, i‘m open to liking it.

Sounds to me like you haven't experienced mixing in atmos. I was just like you, very uneducated in the field for the purpose of mixing music for release on streaming platforms. 2 years later and highly educated on the subject, its comments like this that give me the confidence I did the right thing moving to atmos as I'm 2 years ahead and achieving a sound you only think you can achieve uses backwards methods. I'm not here to convince you. I'm here to leave you behind as we all progress forward without you. That's my honest opinion.

You can easily convince yourself. Find a properly tuned Atmos studio. Sit and listen to Rocket Man. You can never go back to stereo, you can't unhear it.

⁠@@NoQualmsTheArtist Thanks! I‘m sure it sounds impressive in a properly tuned studio and i will sure try it. I see the problem with convincing the masses and offering a clearly supreme audio experience on Headphones etc. So far i dont see the invest rewards ratio beeing good enough for both producers and listeners. But might change and people behind the „faders“ would adopt quickly. Today you wouldnt need 2 years to figure it out as people like audio animals did a lots of good videos teaching the topic.

@romancamenzind9265 yeah it has a long way to go as the dominant format. Stereo isn't going anywhere soon. Soon the standard will be to have atmos built into every home. As costs come down. Right now it's a luxury. But it'll become as simple as buying an amazon Alexa and it'll have atmos and sound brilliant. It'll one day get there. Not this year. Probably not next but soon.
