When asked why I'm an attorney - it's that. For some reason, I really enjoy deflating a pompous fool.... probably shouldn't because it's not nice but then again, I'm a lawyer so expectations are pretty low.
You folks, just like cops, get smeared pretty bad by media and do not deserve it. Each man, regardless of his profession, lives also according to his own moral code. I do not believe the quip "an honest lawyer is an oxymoron", so if you take a few a**holes down a peg or two on occasion I will just say it is because you are in the very unique position of being able to do so. 👍
Lawyers Are Awesome... Lawyers Also Suck.... It Just Depends On The Situation... I Do Like Lawyer Stories... Once A Strip Club Owner Told Me A Story Of A New City Ordinance Requiring All Of His Strippers To Cover Their Nipples... So After Consulting A Lawyer... The Strippers Complied.... By Covering Their Nipples With Vasoline and Glitter.... LAWYERS ARE AWESOME.!!
Oh lord Jesus I absolutely LOVE ur pettiness Rob!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 DON'T TELL ME NO! LMAO! Oh u make me laugh.. thanks hun! This Texas Mama really looks forward to ALL ur videos!
Greatest fucking story from the moment ol rob and the attorney walk in the hoa meeting i was crying with laughter this is about as good as the bubbles in the fountain on main steet one of a kind mr. Rabbit love it
It never fails when Uncle Rob tells an story it brings back a memory for me lol my mom use to pledge the hardwood stairs so we wouldn't run up an down them 🤣🤣🤘🏼
Hey Rob, I haven't even watched the video I'm so excited! I just bought my first classic car at 21 years of age! 1975 c10 shortbed stepside. Assembled in freemont and never left cali! Keep the classics alive! -nick
LOL !! Stair cases and CODE ! I was a Contractor when I built my home, that we still live in, in 1986. 3 story from bottom ground level. 2nd story back deck stairs only had a limited space to build a set of stairs to meet the ground level asphalt driveway and the deck. 7 1/2" and 9" Rise and Run is code. With limited space, I reversed the Rise and Run. 9" and 7 1/2". The dumbass county building inspector didn't catch it and signed off on it. He just saw 7 1/2 " by 9" on the plans. BTW, after only 35 years, I've only fell down these stairs 4 times and my wife once. Pretty Goods Odds!
I would never live in a neighborhood where I am going to pay a group of numbnuts to tell me what I can and can't do on my property. Say no way to the HOA!!!
Rob, you have a lot of great memories. And from those, you have a plethora of killer stories. I know everyonebon here appreciates you sharing those stories. Now I'm not gonna say anything you don't know, but as we go along, what are we left with? Memories and stories. Everyone has memories, but! Not everyone has stories, especially killer stories. You have been blessed, with a most interesting life, as have I. Listening to you, is like sitting down and hanging with one of my good friends, and I want to thank you. Thank you very much. These poor folks with Alzheimers or such, have lost the best parts of life. Anyway, you remind me how important stories are, and how lucky we are to have them. It's easy to forget.
Oh man, that dropped blazer back there is fire! Shit that looks like some stuff I'd have in my garage, dropped square body's and airkewled VWs. You always have the good shit out there!
I love you too death Rabbit! However I’ve never seen my Dad Charge anyone for Listing a House. He’s been Doing real estate for 20+ years. Anyhow thanks for another banger my brother! God Bless you good sir!
Would never choose to live in a neighborhood that had a HOA . Thank goodness there wasn’t anything like this when my grandpa built this house. In the late 1950’s. I remember when condos were built out by Pickens Country Club. Fees were outrageous. Only reason I knew was my nieces aunt bought one. They put it on the market after a year. That was in the 1980’s.
Grant, sir! Excellent job! iGot 2 childhood friends that practice Law. Another friend from my teenage years who is now a Judge. They all help Gordy when he's needing backup. Rabbit got you a good Review. Time to Capitalize
Great video as usual. I am similar win told I will not/cannot do something. That’s probably one of the reasons I was able to start walking again after the wreck. PS: You absolutely will not under any circumstances hire a blind man to come work at RUC!
I'm dealing with the city over parking vehicles on my property currently. They say I must cover vehicles with fitted car covers. I said ok I have a friend who works at an awning shop and I also have an excess of blue and orange tarps that can become fitted car covers
I hate HOA's & would never live where they had 1 so this story really made me giggle. HOA's are for people who're in their 70's & are usually financially comfortable & don't want to be "bothered" with cutting grass and snow removal, like brother Jeff. He has an HOA @ both his home in Maumee & his home in Anastasia Island, Florida. Both places, his HOA's seem to be "easy going". But the 1st time I'd get fined for not putting my garbage can away quick enough, there'd be hell to pay.
Most HOAs have let things slide for other previous "infractions" of their covenants that you can argue they've slept on their rights. This happened to a lawyer friend of mine. He wanted to build a garage with an apartment above. The HOA said no. Other long term homeowners had put up things like pool cabanas that could double as an apartment. Long story short, he won and they had to pay him his "attorney's fees." With that, he put a substantial down payment on another house in the same community.
That reminds me of the time the City told me I could only build a 6 foot fence. So I asked there where do I measure from? Obviously it was from the ground, I ordered a couple of loads of fill dirt and built a nice 1 foot berm and built the fence on top of it. Tada 7 foot fence.
Rabbit, regarding you steps not being up to code! I learned from a old carpenter yrs ago That it was commen when building stringer for stairs it was common to have one step mainly in the middle a inch higher than the rest (the first early alarm system) the homeowner Would adjust to this and it became a non issue! But a Stranger more than likely trip and alert the Homeowner who then could exercise his 2nd amendment right and shoot the prick in whatever Spot he chose!!! Kind funny you never adjusted your old man had you pegged from day one
I believe that it was also a defense measure used in castle building. Very dangerous. Which is why it is not allowed in modern building code. Poor Rob.... ☹
While it does always help to have friends in high places, listen up, kids... As Ole' Rabbit here demonstrates, when you get told "no" is the time you dig in and start doing your homework because sometimes the Devil dwells in the details. Knowledge is power, which is why lawyers come in handy... more expensive than guns, but way less lethal and just as effective/satisfying, as in this case. 👍
I've beaten my HOA in court 3 separate times. That HOA has been disbanded via court order due to too many complaints. I'm sure those morons went somewhere else to try and screw with people. Most of the HOA members drove Prius and Subaru cars. So f*cling typical 🤣
Haa.. you've heard the stories about zoning and neighbors and problems of the like where the result was someone going into hog farming. I'm here to tell you it has happened and it works wonders. I knew the man personally. His particular issue was with people in a brand new subdivision (built on a former farm), and some issues with local "officials" (developer's pals?) let's say. The new place was adjacent to one side of his property. Hogs were bought in the spring, and pens were constructed on 1 side of the farm. Between 100 and 200 hogs. The hogs were sold in late august after the issues went away. Lol I think he even made a nickel doing it. I myself had AG 1 zoned property and used the metaphor to cool a busybusy neighbor's attitude, He decided live and let live was a better way. Lol You realize that guys like you have doubled the number of pages in covenants of new HOA's.?? Thanks for sharing.
