Nothing but respect for self-made businesses, built up with nothing but hard work and a lot of guts to eventually take the step. They make for the greatest stories.
Just started my own mobile Mechanic business. It was a leap of faith for sure! But hands down most rewarding thing I've done this far. Thanks for the motivation rabbit!
Best of luck to you Christina! Bad times will pop their ugly head up from time to time. The best thing to try to do is to own them and keep moving before they own you. I hope you achieve every bit of success you've ever hoped for!
Rabbit, just another reason I love watching you and how you have a GUT feeling about people. I love seeing how excited you get when someone takes your advice and makes a name for themselves. You give great advice and another person says. Reach one, pull the next person up and teach one.
I grew up in rural SE Indiana, one of those places that didn't have city trash pick up. But there was a guy who would pick up your trash weekly. When we moved there in the late 70s he had a 7 or 8 year old Chevy 1 ton dually with a big plywood box on the back. It wasn't a dump bed, so whatever he threw in the truck he had to throw out. During the summer his son would help out, but for the first 15 years we lived there it was a one man operation. By about 83 he had done well enough to buy a real garbage truck, used, but in good shape. By 88 he had two trucks and 3 employees. He had a contract with the county by 1990 and is still active in the business today, though his son does the day to day.
Rob, we’re the same age and personality wise we have alot in common. I dig listening to you chat while I detail cars. I’m always glad to hear you’re doing good and can tell your hearts in the right place. Best wishes.👍🏽
Love a story like that. Through a good idea and the willingness to put in hard work a guy completely changed his World around. I get excited like I actually had something to do with it lol. Awesome to hear a story like that. Hopefully one day I will have a similar story on this channel. Thanks for the videos.
Love your stories. My husband is wondering if the license plates with "Sold" on them are ever going to be for sale? He comments every time we watch about how he would love to have one for his garage wall.
Went from part time to full time reselling after an career ending injury at my job of 26 years. I went from thrift stores to auctions and storage auctions and because of my work ethic I fell into Junk Removal (get stuff to sell for free and get paid on top of it) and was fairly successful from it. Even with the headaches of owning a business I would never want to work for someone else again !!!
Great story Rabbit! I had an old fellow I looked up to give me some business advice. He said “if you ain’t doing something for yourself, you ain’t doing nothing”. I took what I learned, started working for myself, and never looked back!
Great Story !! I too started a small construction business in 1985 w/ an old $650 1965 Ford F-100 p/u as my first work truck. 9 months later got a 1985 F-150. From there on the sky was the limit. I ended up w/ a fleet of E-150 cargo vans to haul all my tools to build houses. All it takes is a will to work HARD and put out the absolute best end product for what ever you offer. I'm retired now with my end work featured in Better Homes and Gardens, Southern Living and other Home Builder magazines.
If he has 4 trucks he has made dam good money. Those trucks are not cheap. Good for that guy. He is living the American dream! I love seeing people do what seems to be the impossible. Keep doing you man and I’m glad you have a son that is willing to work in the company so you can hand it down to him. But don’t let him forget where it started from. Good luck guy.
You helped me get motivated to finally get my shit together man. Starting my new job as head of detailing in a month or two. You're a true mentor to me.
God damn I needed this! I’m self employed and I’ve been thinking about walking away, but you’re right there’s no better feeling than being self employed!
As a felon myself and just started my LLC this year for my own business this def gave me chills. It’s def possible to overcome things from past poor choices. Love to see and hear it. Great video as always rabbit
Love a great come up story! Another excellent one RABBIT and The RUC! You may not think the channel is inspirational, but you are yourself! You are the type to bring a man up not hold them down! As always I appreciate the content! -🤘
Another great story! This especially hits home as I started doing dealership recon work out of the back of a $3,000 2004 F150 with 211k on it at the time. 7 years later my business has become successful and I have newer trucks but still own that 04.
Man the walking mans friend got me my grandfather used to run a used and classic car business back in the day and that’s what they called him was the walking mans friend he had hats and business cards that had that saying thanks for the video 😀
This is one of my favorite vids I’ve seen on the ruc…and I’ve seen them all. This is real. I like your genuine approach. Not that you aren’t usually genuine , this seemed a little more personal. Love ya stories man! Keep up the good work and happy thanksgiving !
Rob you have motivated me & helped fuel my fire for my car grooming business here in Nelson New Zealand! Thanks Edward Molloy Simple Clean Car Grooming.
Not sure when I'm going to meet you but I will because I love cars and your stories. When I do meet you, I'm going to say "Rob Pitts!". Daytona Beach Turkey Run 2021 ready to have some car fun!
Good for you sometime it takes just one lil break in the clouds where someone can step into the sun and good for him for having the courage to make it happen great story.
Great show my brother!..is that a 64 Caddy coupe Deville behind you sir if so that was my first Caddy bought in Fort lauderdale back in 1978 i have the same story on that car like your white corvette story love it…TCB
Damn Rabbit, I want to buy a 1970 Plymouth Road Runner from you. Nothing to fancy, would like a big block, 4 speed pistol grip and high back bucket seats would be perfect. 6'5".... North Florida so not that far and I was just in your area seeing the fall colors back in Oct.
I'm mechanic I may not remember every person but I remember every car and I see them going down the road. It makes me happy to know I did that. So I can understand that car is something important it's how a person gets to work or a way a person gets their sick family member to and from the hospital vehicles are freedom but they are also a tool to take care of the people we love
As long as your business is built on hard work and gives a service thats worth its asking price and benifits the community it doesnt matter if it comes with the title of trash man cause you can be proud to hold that title
Another excellent video that reminds me why i follow your channel Rob. Good people encourage other people to be/do better A good boss encourages his/her employees to excel. A bad person puts people down to try to have 1 up on them. A bad boss is like a leach sucking life energy from his/her employees so he/she can look good or gain a (perceived ) advantage. It reminds me of the concept of kharma. If you do good some day it will come back to you in some way or form. If you do bad things the same applies.
We share the belief that the experience of buying an item should be as enjoyable as having and using the item. Buying a car should be more fun than going to the DMV.
just think had rabbit not helped him out with the truck wonder if he would be were hes at today? iv heard plenty of rabbit stories like these you dont relies how many people you touch until like this guy they run into by chance and tell you
I love it when you go, I'm gonna stop this story to tell you another story. LOLs... I hear you say that and think, Of course you are Rob... BTW I'da dumped the chic and taken your Dad's offer on the new Corvette. Ha Ha!!!
