New 2024 Honda NX500 Unveiled! EICMA 2023 

While I've been loving the big bikes you have been showing I'm glad you have covered a smaller one. Big bikes are just out of some peoples reach.

This cracks me up, they basically designed the Transalp to look like an upspec CB500x and gave this refresh to seperate the two.

A great looking bike. These are going to sell very well in the UK.

I like the more aggressive, rugged look of the CB500X. This looks too pleasant for adventurous riding and to take off-road. I’ll have to wait and see it in action

Hoping all these bikes come to the NEC event in a couple of weeks. It is looking like Himalyan 451 vs NX500 vs CFMoto 450 vs Triumph 400. Am I missing anything else new?

Thanks for the video. I love my 500X. Even though I’ve sort of “graduated” to bigger bikes, I’ve held on to the 500X because it’s a solid, fun bike. The re-branding and the upgrades are cool, and I think this will do pretty well for Honda.

Love my 21 CB500X once I changed the seat. 25000 klm average 3.3 L per 100 klm. Long service interval for valve adjustment. Wish cruise control was an option.

Thanks for a great view. You know your stuff compared to others. I have the CB500X and the mods will be well received.The dash will make a huge difference and make it feel like a more modern machine. I would say its main advantage is twin cylinders if you're going to use it as a road bike compared to others.

I have a few things to say. 1. NX500 looks like a good bike, but I do not like the headlights at all. 2. Am I the only one that thinks we miss coverage of cheaper bikes. Like CF Moto and Moto Morini bikes?

The CB500X 2022 is a great little bike. But I like the look and updates on the NX. A rear shock with prober rebound would have been great. Value for money and many happy hours on the road 😊

I love the 390 but I would go with the NX from those three. Great video as always!

I'd love to see either a updated nc750x with larger wheels and DCT, a transalp DCT or a nx500 DCT, till then I can't be tempted into shelling out thousands to switch from my 2022 cb500x.

I have been interested in this bike for a few years as a 2nd bike alongside my 1200cc adventure bikes. In the end I opted for a used Tracer 7 but yes, the 390 Adv is also on my radar. I think the new 400 scrambler from Triumph some may see as an alternative or even some Chinese offerings from Voge, Moto Morini or CF Moto.

Would have been cool if they added the E-Clutch system as an option to the 500 lineup. Especially on the NX500 it could be a nice additional feature for offroad riding.

Looks a tad better than the previous model. It will be interesting to compare the buffetting to the previous one -- it was the reason I chose a different bike and many other taller riders complain about it as well. The screen does look shorter though.

Love it. Great fantastic update with strong upgrades and the styling is an improvement. I assume this will make it Stateside as a 2024 CB500X looks to be nonexistent.

I love the 500 cc class of adventure bike that has always been neglected, but I want something more off road oriented so much lighter with more ground clearance and suspension travel. I think the black version looks very nice. I wish Honda offered an upgraded version of this with tubeless spoke wheels, large rear rack, aluminum bash plate and maybe a larger fuel tank.

I test rode the cb 500x and a Suzuki SX250 . Suzi is $ 6150 Australian at my local.nice little bike.

I'm glad EICMA hasn't gone all PC and still has beautiful models on the stands. Good work on all the coverage, the videos are the perfect length and contain just the right amount of info.

I love the look of this bike particularly as the big Honda 1100 is too big for my little legs. I’ve ridden a CB500X before and it has a cracking little motor.

A very good bike at a sensible price, plus its a Honda so quality is guaranteed. Loved the video.

another option that you didn't mention is the new CF Moto 450, which has spoked, tubeless wheels.

Thanks for the video! I am disappointed Honda engineers designed the exhaust to run under the bike (very vulnerable) and placed the oil filter behind the pipes. Oil change will not be so easy/fast, especially considering a skid plate will be a must have accessory.

Interesting they've decided on the "NX" from the Dominator. Wonder if that will mean a proper offroad version in future

I have a 2023 and although is a very good bike, I think Honda missed on some important upgrades that would have make it really good, I’m going to look at the new Himalayan and if it really good I would change. Like I say I think Honda should have done a few other changes at the end the majority of people are hoping for a mini Africa Twin.

Now if they do an NX750 I would be interested, I like the new Transalp, but not the larger tubed wheels, lack of rear preload remote and rebound damping adjustment, I like my wife's CB500X, but it's a little underpowered for me.

The new Himalayan is far more appealing to the eye, but we have to wait and see how it's engine runs. One thing is certain, this new NX is not a bad purchase in terms of engine and reliability

I love my cb500x but am very tempted to trade it in for the CFmoto 450MT. Just need to see and sit on one and hopefully it will be at motorcycle live so I can compare it to the new Himalayan.

I've loved the CB500X from afar! It looks like probably the best all-rounder for a newer rider (IMHO anyway), so I'm psyched to see an update like this - it's looking better than ever! Loving the loss of the cringey gold-coloured forks! Looks great with the cage and coloured wheels on the white model if you want something fun-looking, and with those forks now being black, it can look really stealthy, too. Without it being WILDLY cheaper, I wouldn't even consider the new Himalayan over this.

I don’t like the headlight. The dash is a good upgrade but I really don’t like what they did in the front with the headlight. Nice review.

how much is the ground clearance?

Frankly, what most of us wanted was a factory rally raided cb500x. Ill count myself dissapointed. Couldnt care less about any of the changes TBH.

Ignore the CFMOTO 450MT at your peril. I think it was the most interesting small adventure in EICMA this year.

Honda and others need to get cruise control into the mid range and budget end of the market. For a couple of decades many have considered it mandatory for car purchases. I'll be keeping what I have until it becomes available on an affordable middle weight.

If they gave it spoked tubless wheels it would be epic, I think it would outsell the new transalp and africatwin.

I'd go for the Honda for its quality and reliability, with extra credit for the smoothness of a twin at highway speeds. None of the choices are very exciting for off-road use so why not go for the better street bike? I hope that Yamaha and Suzuki are working on 400-500cc engines that can compete with Honda and Kawasaki in this segment.

Let's just hope the HSC isn't nearly as bad as the one on the Transalp. It must be absolutely turned off for any kind of off-roading...

A great bike with all the weak bits removed for basically the same price. That negative LCD was looking distinctly dated. What’s not to like! This is a Honda. Anyone suggesting the new Himalayan needs to take a closer look at the finish and the 450MT is a faceless rinse and repeat model from a brand that is hardly mainstream (yet)? Plus the 500 is a twin so better over distance.a swing and a resounding hit from big H.

Car drivers will start ignoring seeing indicators on. No research published on the effect of this change though there is research to show that people ignore the common yellow reflective jackets but notice more the rarer pink. It may be dangerous to make seeing a lit indicator ubiquitous to the average dozy tin box pilot
