The headlights are way too busy with all the neon light eyelashes. Same for the rear, too busy for something supposed to be iconic and timeless. Alfa romeo should take noted from the GMA T.33

gordon murray t33 is better in my opinion, i just dont liek the t33 front end because it doesnt look similar enough to the old cars like the one talked about here, it the stright edged inner sides of the front hood are in conflict with the otherwise very curvy smooth apperance, same with the the striaight eddge of headlight area and front area above wheels . this new alfa is too complicated looking, not a memoriable design but the side view front end is interesting. the cyilndical package of rear light also in gmat50 which u can see when u open the side storage spaces. gma t50 with t33 looks except with t50s and detomaso p72 rear end and t33 rear lights... theres details i have to describe with images. i also like aston martin vallahalla v6 hybrid concept apperance that frank stephenson resdesigned, except i like the simplicty of the original design.

I think it looks gorgeous. If i had to change something tho it would be the headlights (that vertical LED really threw me off) and I would make the carbon bits in the rear body-colored the interior is absolutely perfect imo, at least in that spec

The vertical LED really perplexed me as well until I realized it was a recreation of the line flow of the later models with singular headlights, where the corners of the grill and lights connect with each other to create an endless line flow. The obvious recreation is of the first models with dual headlights, 2 giant tear drops close to a rounded off grill, which is recreated with the LED strips surrounding the housing. It blew my mind when I realized that they managed to combine the visual effect of both models.

Haven't seen a car in a long time that made my heart flutter and left my mouth open, leaving me pining for it. Last one was the Bentley ESP10 Speed 6 concept, but it was never made. This is rolling art, something you go out to seek at a car show just to see. My favorite detail is the rear end profile, the tails integrated into the cannons that protrude out from the side, with the led accent, continuing into the intake and finishing in the strake like a wing, it looks like it's packing missiles under it's haunches...amazing details, bellissimo.😘

Im not sure if it's the nostalgia speaking but I still prefer the original by a little bit. I think the longer tail suits the overall design better and it's got a pointier nose. But to be fair I wouldn't even have noticed the nose being shorter if I didn't have a side by side comparison here. The new one is very easily the most beautiful modern car I have seen. It really makes it feel special to see just how much of the original had been carried over into the new one. The way everything opens, the doors, the headlights... Everything. But it really does feel like they've made the butt a bit too stubby. Or it's all just so beautiful that I can't help myself but wish those shapes would continue flowing for a few extra inches. 😂

It is worth noting that the Maserati MC20 is the Alfa Romeo 6C project that was produced by Alfa Romeo from 2017 to 2019 and then for less than a year by Maserati 2019-2020. So it doesn't really "pull mechanical parts from the Maserati parts bin". After the death of Sergio Marchionne who commissioned the project the new leadership decided that this car can sell more with the Maserati badge. There was an article a few years ago about the MC20 and how a lot of its parts were Alfa Romeo designated including the engine. And how Maserati lied about the car being "100% Maserati" in their PR while they worked on the car for less than a year. All of those articles today from automobile journalists about how this is a MC20 copy are a joke when it is the other way around.
@nailil5722
@nailil5722 8 месяцев назад
True, but I still think that giving the project to Maserati was the right call. An Alfa Romeo 6C would not fit with the current poor line up while the MC20 is a more rational addition to what Maserati represents. I just hope that eventually we will get a new Alfa Romeo Spider or a new 4C for real enthusiasts.

I generally like it, but the rear end needs more wide body and proportion control. The rear taillights are a bit oversized and the haunches on the old one have more energy and tension. I do love Alfa styling and those rims should never be swapped.

Agreed, the De Tomaso is on another level. The P72 is more hypercar, the 33 Stradale is a supercar if that makes any sense. The P72 has a V12 as a concept and TT V8 for production, whereas the Alfa Romeo is based on the TT V6 of the QV.

Just looked at the articles on TG and MT and in the dashboard shot I got the impression that the instrument gauges are cartoon eyes, the horn button a big cartoon nose, and the bottom metallic steering wheel spoke a cartoonish giant tooth inside a bog grin made up of the bottom of the steering wheel. Now I cannot un-see that cartoonish face. Still, amazingly beautiful car.

Mad props to the mad genius who dared think (s)he could tackle the Stradale design. Sure, the original was not for everyone, but it was so utterly perfect for it's market that improving it is a huge ask. Only 33 of them, though... I mean, I can see why - the poetry of it is hard to beat, and it ensures the future desireability of them forever. But... C'mon, man - I have more chance of seeing a rain of frogs than I do of seeing one of those in the flesh! ;p

My only criticism is that rear diffuser. I wish they had exposed some of the internals like the original car (a modern example would be the Mclaren Senna). Other than that, what a magnificent piece of art. I reaaaaaly hope Alfa brings a prototype or whatever they stick in the museum around the world to car shows/events/etc in the US. I got to the see the original 33 (not the prototipo sadly) and it was just stunning. It would be a shame if it only sees the inside of a garage.
