Honestly, I do not think you are the only one "sensitive" as was stated by micro transactions in game. I think the majority are not as stimulated by the additional purchases for multiple specs and for the traveling version provided. I can honestly say, even with the added convenience this may provide in niche situations, I fully believe at this time, and further notice, I will not be purchasing the additional anything on top of, the free version provided. To me, this is just and observation and opinion here.. that it will not be useful enough, key word, enough to warrant the purchases. I feel there is a broad enough player base that may also feel the same. This is the same reason I will never purchase the extra outfit slots, they are just not priced in such a way that in entices me to purchase them even though I'd love for each of my 18 characters to have 10 switchable outfits. The price point is just way over the top and after reading the forums, I know there are others who share this view. I, like many, many others would like to see Outfit slots be free under the drop down menu in the character window and not as purchases, or, a ONE time purchase that is ACCOUNT WIDE. However with all that said, thank you for covering what this does, how to use it and what to expect for the most part (aside the unknowns, like price points). As usual Nefas, well done good sir! There are some features which just don't make sense not to add except for non-fun monetization. Houses, expansions, crown crates are all FUN monetization that give you cool content and fun gambling aspects. Skyshards and mount training not being account wide... not so much fun

I agree that most of the crown items are way overpriced. The endeavors are just as bad. 15k endeavors for a mount week 1 of release. Yeah right! Lmao. But also, why would you buy outfit slots? You can just go to an outfit station and spend a little gold to change things up. Hundred dollar houses? yeah, overpriced. Items converted to crown gems? yeah not equal in value. Outfit slots though? Hmm…

Aside from the moment when they stated that “the armoury system needs to pay for its development” in a recent ESO at home stream, there is no evidence that the whole system has been designed as much as an income stream as an aid to players. I don’t know how much the outfit system brings in at 1500 crowns per character slot, but I can’t help imagining it might bring in significantly more if it were either cheaper or account wide. Similarly I can’t see many players on PC being keen to pay up for something that is much less usable than eithef Alpha gear or Dressing Room.

tbh, as a new player, to see that kind of attitude from the developers(?) it's enough to make me discontinue my subscription when it comes time to renew. To me it feels like they know they are on a cash cow, and are going to milk every last drop. I don't think it's overly fair (sure, charge for things, but surely the player bas is large enough that prices needn't be so high), i mean more sales = more revenue overall (doesn't it, if things are more affordable?) The behavior i've seen in a couple of videos is belittling and offensive.

They should have just let you store you armour and gear onto an armory mannequin so we could have like 10 mannequins all with different armour and weapons on them. The way ARK: Survival Evolved does it is soooo much better

thats would so good, imagine your lovely armors pieces as decoration too, a hall of armor, id love it, it would reduce clutter since many toons could use the same armor, but the problem, and the problem is from ZOS they would never would give space without some push back or something, they are hell bent into reducing the inventory as much as possible

@@squeamishh6719 Wouldn't affect lag at all. There would be no difference having 1 armory or having 10 they would be doing the same thing. There is a house placement limit to stop this.

Just had a few other thoughts on this. The armory system is set up in a way to free up character slots per account. I bet this was part of their intention. For instance, if a player has 3 templars, 1 stam, 1 mag, 1 healer, they could just have 1 templar with 3 different loadouts. I bet they (ZOS) are banking on players cutting down on how many characters they have by consolidating roles to just 1 character. Combine this with the hybrid gear sets and their plan to clean up inactive accounts I bet it’ll free up a lot of server space. They’ll have to do something. Matt Firor even said the game was too big for last gen consoles and that is a big contributor to the performance issues on them and we all know the majority of console players are still on last gen. I bet a lot of these changes are to clean up space to make room for new content so to not exclude the console community. And spite what Rich said about crown Mundas sales. We know ZOS likes to monetize as much as possible. We can have a whole video on that topic alone.

No body in every video I watched explained how to BEGIN using the armory station. Their stuff was just there! When I opened my armory bench it was all blank, I had no idea what the heck I was doing. I started clicking all over the place and then finally clicked on "Save Build". Great explanation ...not!

I agree. I'm very new to the game, so my questions are 1) do we have to divide our skill points between 2 builds on one character -and- 2) i've opened the interface and nothing happens. I can't do a thing with it - am i still too low at lvl 33?

I hope that people let others at least switch before last boss instead of charging in. When tanking I would much rather have other moves than Silver Leash on my bar when fighting the final boss.

I plan on setting up a "Clean Slate" build that is completely blank aside from some core passives. That way I don't have to spend gold on respecs.

So - you want two builds - you first have to save the current build. Then do a respec and set up that loadout on build #2 in Armory? Then if you want a third build out, you need to do another respec and set up that loadout and save that build as #3?

And what about CPs? Like, for example, I have no 50 CPs to change Backstabber for something different, when I go solo content. And I spend 3k for respec. And save the second build with Thaumaturge. Can I load in the first build with Backstabber and have it? Or I should go through the regular respec process?

As I read on the first launch of this update on PTS, you need to have al your builds in your inventory, otherwise, the system will tell you that some pieces are missing for the switching.

you need to have the whole build in your inventory, if youre going to switch from tank to a dps build, youll need to have all the DPS gear in your inventory, otherwise, the game will tell you that some pieces are missing. Tha´ts the price to pay. Sadly

not sure, if you use a blank outfit slot and equip that all your skills etc would be reset -> then set up all morphs, CP etc. from scratch -> save as new build. its a bit more work and would require that you always have one blank slot, just for clearing your skills, attributes, cp etc. this should also save the skills/morphs that is not slotted so you can drag and drop those as needed during a dungeon when out of combat. Also this seems a lot like an endgame feature, if you are updating your sets often having a lot of armory slots can end up bieng time consuming to keep updated. As a 1 char only player, im very excited for this new feature and hoping it will be made a bit more polished along the way. Like e.g. ZOS adding a 100 + 200 voucher + crowns (as any other storage chest today) armory chests that allows gear to be pulled directly from them.

Will i be able to respec whole skills, so for example i remove whole points from a couple skills in order to put them into other skills or do u need to have them skilled to swap them on table? Also, will attribute/morph respecs be free or not?

maybe im late, but it changes ur morphs, skills, passives, cp, attribute points, vampire/werewolf. so what u can do is leave one of the builds empty and equip that build to get to respec for free

Hate the fact that extra slots are not account wide like in 76, i just hope they are not 1500 but they will probably be, everything in the crown store is so expensive, that aside i actually LOVE this new feature, its what got me back into 76 and will get me playing even more ESO, i enjoy too much trying different builds and with extra build slots i can easily play other content with my tank characters, as well as giving some of my dps characters a tank build for a quick random normal queue (i don't like fake tanking).

Speaking of being sensitive to microtransactions, I wouldn't be surprised at all if the slots were more than 1500. Watching this video, I just realized the Armory slot includes an outfit configuration, which would make the Outfit slots useless. Why not just incorporate the Armory system into the existing Outfit slots, especially as it contains the original outfit functionality? Unless Armory slots will be more. I may be cynical, but I feel I'm in good company. At least I don't see the need for more than 2 Armory slots on most of my characters (unless I consolidate several of them, but that would just be a money sink in exchange for a minor convenience boost).

NefaQS I think you are wrong about the mundus stones. I think ZOS are gradually PHASING OUT the mundus stones. This is why the champion points system ignores them too. It would have been easy for the stones to be incorporated into the champion points system but they have chosen to duplicate (more-or-less) their functionality. With champion points system 2.0 the colours (red-green-blue) for the stones make little sense and the 13 star-sign astrology lore is rarely used anywhere else in ESO. Craglorn only uses Warrior-Mage-Thief-Serpent constellations. Only a few door puzzles use any of the other signs. I think that somewhere in the next few major patches ZOS will introduce CP 2.x and drop the mundus stones altogether. That is why I think you got the reaction from Rich Lambert. It was good of you to remind him that people pay Crowns (aka real money) for a set of stones. Edit: mundas=>mundus

Hmm, I feel like they should've let it spend more time baking in the oven. There's a lot of mmo's that have that exact same system and feel more complete than this current iteration does. I hope they keep working on it and don't let it fade into the background for the next 5 years...

You cant just compare ESO to any other game, because that would make ESO look really bad and we don't want that, even when its true, what it is. I mean, Indie Games have different loadout slots already...

@@kenniemoralesjr.6791 There are plenty of other non-indie mmo's that have loadouts. Why wouldn't we want ZoS to look at other games and realize that they can just yoink ideas from other games?? That's like developing 101, pay attention to your competition and use good ideas. Because good ideas become baseline and if you don't meet that expectation then you're outdated in the eyes of your customers.

You can as long as you are switching your build before going into the instance. And you have to purchase the assistant for real money to change your build outside of your house.

Personally for me it would be a waste of money to buy those extra slots (Even if it would be account wide) since it takes much more time to go to your house etc. I think, most people will just use it, to have a quick way of getting and getting rid off vamp/werewolf. Other than that, its not very useful. Even for XboX/PSX players.

The MAIN thing that this video does not cover, is that your gear you saved has to be IN YOUR BAGS when you flip and switch. Putting them in bank, or house coffers will NOT SWITCH AND PUT THEM ON which is beyond stupid. So this means you must lock the gear and keep in your bag.

And everyone who had already bought Mundus Stones would, rightly, complain that their purchase was a waste. It's not just about selling Mundus Stones going forward, it's also about preserving value for people who've already made purchases. The last thing any company wants to do is annoy people who have already shown that they're willing to spend money. Not saying it doesn't happen, just that smart companies try to avoid it.

You can also have your tanks and healers be able to transform into dps at the touch of a button or have solo setups specifically designed for world bosses in addition to having pvp/pve setups. Think bigger ;)

Or don't want to go through all the boring stupid grinding to get Mages Guild, Psijic, Undaunted, etc. again. Or want to collect achievements on that specific char. Or (shocking!) don't particularly care for fake-tanking. Really, there's a ton of reasons why you would use the Armoury instead of investing dozens of dull hours into levelling a new character.

@@varana I have 17 toons. It’s only dull if you don’t enjoy it. My stamcro is on mage guild 6 just by completing every zone I quest in completely. Lorebooks really aren’t that hard to grind anymore with guilds. Psjic maybe but no-one uses that outside of pvp really. It’s just a cash grab really and to keep the ppl who play solo only(why would you in an mmo) happy.

@@o0mystogan0o Errr... Elemental Weapon, Channelled Acceleration, Temporal Guard, and to a lesser extent even Deep Thoughts, are all quite regularly used in PvE. And not enjoying it was the whole point. If you enjoy it, grinding to Master Angler on several characters is exciting (probably). But most people don't. And a very large part of the playerbase is playing solo, or mostly solo. It's an Elder Scrolls game after all, and for many the MMO part is strictly secondary. Something I see zero content creators talk about is how much gold this will save when switching builds! Add ons still cost gold. Looking a gift horse in the mouth.

Very stoked to learn more about the upcoming armory, but it would be great if you could cut down on the unnecessary motion during vids. All the zooming in and out, moving back and forth quickly, and flashing really fast over windows can cause vertigo and motion sickness, and makes it hard to actually watch the vid.

There's no reason we shouldn't be able to, and no reason the creator can't just cut down on unnecessary motion in the future. It doesn't have any impact on you whatsoever for everyone to be able to watch the vid, so why be rude about a reasonable suggestion? Go bother someone who's actually affecting your life instead.

I did? You have the CP loadout, you have the gearset, you have the Curse of your choice or lack of Curse, then you hit "Save Build" once you have everything on of your choice. As I mentioned in the video you need to have the gear in your inventory to swap to as well. There's only three options: Save Build, Equip Build, Edit Name/Icon of Build.

Jokes on them I still wont buy mundus stones off the crown store and for me personally since I main healer I keep all my gear on me at all times anyway so I can kill stuff faster while I wait for dungeon ques. The thing I will use armory system is to have 2 sets, one with vampire and one without just so that when I feel like seeing my super sexy Dunmer hunnies with their darkest skin instead of pale white vampire I can swap back and forth and not have to wait for bloodfiends in the rift or wait for a player bite.

Werewolf/vamp swap is a sell out and poop on RP mechanics and meaningful choice. Being vamp, werewolf or normal felt like a fairly interesting and long-term decision to make for a character. Now its just something you slot in or out and it's 100% the only reason anybody would buy the armoury over using an addon. Pretty cheap stinky update. It should be free also, but it wont be.

FFS, good sir, please read. They have stated multiple times, as the person above says, that it is 100 percent free. You buy it for ZERO crowns on the store (as that is how they are distributing it) and then you place it in your player home (which you can get a FREE player home in each main city of course)

In hindsight with it live; 1500 crowns for slots. 2 given for free when most people will need at least 3 or 4. 5k crowns for the assistant... Literally 60 euros just to switch gear whenever without an addon. Extremely overpriced garbage imo.

@@Mr-qt4xr "Need" is a strong word. You can already change gear for free and the gold price is pretty small to change attributes/skill morphs. I seriously doubt most people would need to change builds that often within a given role like tank/dps/healer so it will be totally fine to still just put on a different set of armor set from your storage to go into whatever content you want to do. And there's something like 9 character slots that come with your account...which means you could have 9 different characters set up with 2 free build switches. I won't need or want to buy additional slots but it's still an awesome addition and great value to have two free slots per character. Yeah, 1500 crowns is a bit much, I'd say it would be more fair to have them be 500 crowns each but that's a small side not considering they just gave every single player a totally free, new way to change their builds instantly and gives new life to existing characters so you don't need 20 alts if you just want to play a different role without much fuss.

If you're gonna do an armory assistant, you don't leave aspects of a build out of the functionality(Mundus), because I simply won't buy this, EVER, same thing they did with repairs on the merchant. I also stopped paying the subscription and use alts as "mules" to hold my crafting materials and completely evade the crafting bag all together because of the greed and paywalling.
