I am now perusing your various shoe reviews. I just picked up a pair of these today after hearing so much positive buzz about them. I too had to go a half size up for proper fit. I had a very strong positive reaction to this shoe when I tried them on in the store and ran around in them. Pure fun!!! Light, peppy, and I got the same colorway as you have here. Lest I get carried away with the fun, I am warned that the softness of this shoe can have hazards and is not meant to do a marathon distance. I will use it for my faster paced runs/speed work and will not take it beyond 15 miles at most. Soft? I love the softness but some reviewers even say too soft and therefore don't care for this shoe. If you need stability, forget this one! Thanks for the review. Can't wait to take my 1st run in these puppies. :-)

Thanks for checking out the videos and for subscribing to my channel. Let me know what you think of the Rebel v2 after you've had a chance to run in it.

I’m a Hoka Speedgoat guy, but those look nice!

You've had like 5 pairs of the Speedgoats! Haha. But seriously, the Rebel v2's are great tempo road shoes. For trail shoes, I've been loving the adidas TERREX Speed Ultra shoes. Many (all?) if the TERREX UTMB runners wore this shoe. I'd love to try the Speedgoats someday too.

Got it. Saw the full review. Sold out over here in the Philippines...

Ah, bummer! I took the shoe out again today and was reminded of how fun the shoe can be. I think it's a great shoe as long as you get the size right.

So go up half a size? Same with the Propel?
@SeeChadRun
@SeeChadRun 2 года назад
For me, the Propel v2 fit true to size, but the Rebel v2 felt just a little shorter. I can feel my toes hit the end of the shoe while I run and my toenails get a little sensitive after running in the shoe so I would personally choose to size up half a size.

Thanks for the review. How many miles have you got in these now? I got the velocity 2 on your recommendation: it’s working really well thus far. 90 miles in and lovely. Thanks!

That's great to hear! In the Rebel v2's I have just over 230 miles. The shoe surprises me every time I run in it. My paces are always faster than I anticipate but I also find that it's not my go-to shoe of choice for most runs.

I should add that I'm at almost 500 miles in the velocity 2 shoes 😎

Do you have any recomend shoes what is cushioning but not heavy? And also good for daily trainers, othen than novablast

Thanks for the comment and question! So sorry that it took me so long to reply. Somehow I missed your question. As for a shoe with lightweight cushioning, I'd recommend checking out Hoka (Clifton 7/8) or the Skechers Max Road 5. I'm sure there are many other great lightweight shoes with decent cushioning, so hopefully others will reply here too.

Hey Chad, thx for the review. I got my Rebel v2 a couple of days ago. So far I am really liking them, just thinking to me personally they almost are even a bit "too" soft. Of course still very fun to run in, especially when picking up the pace. Btw imo the Propel v2 is quite underrated. Not the most beautiful shoe, but it's a real versatile workhorse that also makes your wallet happy. Got the Propel for like 55 or 60 bucks. Keep up your great work and looking forward to your next videos. Greetings all the way from Europe. 😎✌️

Thanks for checking out the video! I agree 100% with your comments. The Propel v2 is totally underrated and possibly overlooked but it really is a great shoe. New Balance has come out with new color designs which look great and they also just released the ever so slightly updated Propel v3, though I'm not really sure what the actual differences are. The Rebel v2 does feel almost too soft. As mentioned in the video, it feels good to run in especially when you pick up the pace but I'm still perplexed and confused as to why the midsole needs to be so soft

Have you tried the New Balance Prism also?

I have not tried the prism but I have run in the Propel v2. That's a solid daily trainer.

I’ve run over 600km in the 1080v11. Is this a long distance shoe I should progress to or stick with going to the RC elite 2. ?
@SeeChadRun
@SeeChadRun 3 года назад
The Rebel v2 can be used for long distance (most of my runs were between 10 and 20 miles in this shoe) but I wouldn't consider it a 'long distance' running shoe. The 1080v11 might be a better long distance and easy miles shoe but know that I haven't ran in the 1080 yet. The RC Elite v2 will be a great for shoe for racing and speed training, but at $225 US, that's a lot of money to spend especially if you'll be using the shoe for mostly training. If you're looking for a good, lightweight, daily trainer where you want to focus on speed efforts, the Rebel v2 might be the winner, but I would use it along side another daily trainer (such as the 1080 or Propel v2/v3) where I put most of my easy and long run miles into that daily trainer. Hope that helps! Let me know what you decide to do :-)

Hey Chad, hope your training is going well. When are going to have another go at that sub 18’ 5k? Nice review by the way.
@SeeChadRun
@SeeChadRun 3 года назад
Thanks! I've been thinking about that sub 18 min 5k effort. I still have that as a goal and it's something I absolutely want to attempt. My next race is a 50k trail race on September 11th. A couple weeks after that, I'll actually be vacationing in Hawaii (sea level!!!) so if I feel healthy/strong, maybe I'll give it an attempt then (and record the effort of course).
