250 lb runner here…this shoe has worked really really well for me…I rotate it with the Saucony Endorphin Speed, Nike Infinity React and Puma Liberate Nitro…the Rebel is my favorite of the bunch…easily does 5-10k runs at easy to moderate paces

I have the same rotation plus others but I feel the same way

Huge fan of this shoe. Just seems to work well with my gait cycle. I find it super versatile - all the way from recovery runs to 5k races 👍🏽

600+km in my first pair. Only thing to wear out was when I ripped upper trying to stuff them with newspaper. Paces from 2:47km for hill workouts to 5:00km easy runs. Might be best shoe I've worn in 25+ years of running.

Loved the Rebel 1. Trained a half marathon cycle in them this past spring. Have one pair of v1’s with about 60 miles on them, bought the 2 anyways. Liked it. All of a sudden I hate both, getting horrible pain in my Achilles insertion and peroneal tendon. What has fixed it? Running in all Altra. Escalante Racer for workouts, Torin plush and Rivera for everything else. Go figure.

Neutral runner, 140 lb, found it indeed a bit unstable for me yet usable. As it is not a daily trainer (I agree 300%) if I use it for tempo runs, works well.

Fascinating review, thank you. I am exactly the runner you describe. I land very mid-foot and then roll off the lesser toes on both sides. The Rebel v2 feels fantastic to run in at slow to moderate paces - it is just a joy. But I have a sore big toe joint on the right foot and running much more than 12k or so in these makes it really sore. I have the dilemma the Rebel v2 seems to work brilliantly for me, but my sore big toe forces me to switch to a stiffer shoe (which feels less natural to my stride). Maybe the RC Elite v1 would suit me?

Mike! Glad the shoes are working for you! As Matt said, they will pivot you off the first toe more. The RC elite v1 has a plate and toe spring, so may work for you! Make sure you work on your big toe mobility (we’ll post something soon about that!)

I heel strike and need stability, suffer from calf and tendon pains.. Took the Rebel V2 for a run expecting knee pain etc.. No pains at all and after the run my calfs feeling great and my achiles tendons not stressed.. Can run fast in them because I feel my knees are well protected. Did you try the Prism V2?

Glad those are working for you!!! We have not tried the prism v2 yet!

I have the Rebel V1. Overpronater due to bowlegs. Landing on the lateral side and collapsing medially. V1 works fine when I'm good in shape. Causing problems because of the extreme flare on the lateral side, when I've been lasy 😅 had some knee pain around my meniscus, where I had surgery 8 years ago. Since V2 is a bit less extreme, should I give it a try?

You certainly can! Just make sure you are working on your stability and strength!

Hi, I possess the Rebel V2 and at the opposite the Fresh Foam More V3. I'm a huge fan of both. The Rebel V2 for my tempo runs and I don't have any problem till now and The FFMV3 for the recovery or long run. I'm running with 4-5-6mm drop max till 4 years now. May be I will try the RC Elite but I think the drop is higher. What do you think about my rotation ? I'm a little bit pronator but with no orthopedic insole. I tried but i was injured more often than without. I'm a forefoot runner more than a heel one now.

If the shoes are working for you, then you have a great rotation. Just because someone pronates does not mean they need orthotics/arch supports! Pronation is natural and a certain amount is beneficial!

@@DoctorsofRunning OK thanks a lot for your answer. Yes the shoes work for me so I keep running like this. NB has done a great job this year, I find.

Man this guy is long winded. Marvelous shoe. Just .6 oz. heavier than Nike Vapor Fly’s.

Any recommendations for a fast daily trainer/tempo/race shoe for someone that has had bi-lateral surgery on both big and 2nd toes for bunion/stress fracture issues, yeah pretty much 0 flex/extn in my big toes :-D I'm more a trail runnner but also have to do some mileage on asphalt and am needing a suitable shoe. I'm late 40s, @70kg, 20min 5km, marathon - ultratrail runner, low volume, wider forefoot, narrow heel :-D Thanks! Current trail shoes - Saucony Peregrine 10, Scarpa Spin Ultra, La Sportiva Helios (overdue for retirement), daily work shoe is a Salomon Sense ride 3, oh and I'm not a fan of huge heel drops...

Clearly you need something stiff to deal with those toes. First thing that comes to mind is Hoka Carbon X and Rocket X, but they're not particularly wide. Perhaps the Saucony Endorphin Pro would be your best shot. While I concur with your preference of lower drops, I often find the drop to be less apparent in higher stack shoes if they're soft (particularly in the heel). Adding to that, for trails I'm thinking the Saucony Endorphin Trail seems to suit your needs.

@@O1sson Thanks! Yeah I'm waiting for the Endorphin Speed to be available locally to try... haven't had much joy with the Hoka fit in the past... also keen to try the Salomon shoes, again unfortunately not much is available locally, seems like Salomon have huge availability issues this year.
