@@m0e566 agreed. I think Seth is a great reviewer, but I have to remember I am bigger (6ft 180 lbs), older (48), and nowhere as fast as him. It is great to sample different reviews if you are buying a new pair of shoes instead of going with just one.

I so so sooo love that you said that your blog is about "turning that door knob", that is why I keep coming back. My opinion is that you are on a slippery slope with three live streams about shoes every week, I see a risk that such a focus might color your channel in a "shoe review way". Why not have one live stream where you answer recovery tips, one about motivation and finally one about shoes? Just a friendly observation from a fan.

Your channel is a very high motivation for me. I love the shoe reviews, but also everything else. You got me to start running after many many years of being unhealthy. I just clicked one random video of you and boom, i got hooked. Lost over 90 lbs since start of the year. Keep it going Seth. You are an amazing person and have a lovely family, both there and here on the web!

I like the shoe reviews and also the other blog videos are great as well. I especially like seeing the outdoor footage with the drone shots because they really get me excited about hitting the road myself. I think you've got to have faith in the authenticity of a person reviewing stuff and Seth's attitude towards these reviews and life in general just tells you that he is always going to be honest and straight with you. Without naming names, i don't trust that is the case with some other channels out there.

I agree that I come to this channel for way more than running shoe reviews, but I will also say that of all the running shoe reviewers, yours are especially good. You answer all the questions people could have, you're fair, you're honest, and you give really helpful info. I definitely don't want you to go all running shoes all the time, that'd be a bummer, but you're doing a great job with them!

Hi Seth great VLOG. I wonder what these will be down here in Australia because as I'm returning after not running for 2.1/2 months with a back injury I think these will be perfect! I've been a daily viewer now for just over a year and though shoe reviews are a big part of the channel when I speak of you or describe the channel to others that's not what comes to mind first. Support, encouragement, respect and love is what I believe are the corner stones of this channel and what I believe are also your guiding principles. I will join the channel soon but I've had very little work over the past year but thanks for all you do and for having me. Much respect to you sir.

QD: Here in tropical Thailand, my favorite season is "cool season." It goes from October through December. The humidity isn't as high, and the temperature for my early morning runs gets "down" to 68-72 degrees. Back to my hometown of Brigham City, Utah, where there are actually four distinct seasons, my favorite is autumn. Crisp, cool, fallen leaves underfoot--it feels and smells like cross country. Most important running item besides shoes: nipple tape. 😊

Seth, Picked up this shoe two weeks ago, out of the many many shoes I have... Ive been picking up the rebel everyday. Easy runs, workouts, anything! this shoe is probably one of the best ive worn in a very long time. New Balance nailed it with this one, only drawback I think would probably be the durability, but this is 100% better than the mach 4, turbo, and I would even say nova blast. Best shoe out of 2021

My favorite running season is that one week where it’s spring and like 60 degrees, but it’s before allergy season. But honestly any day you get to run is a gift. And I would say the most important gear for that is my 2 inch new balence split shorts.

I loved today's vlog. I must say the fuelcell innovation from NB has really got me hooked on New Balance running shoes. I already have the Fuelcell TCs. I am adding the Rebel V2s to my running shoes wish list. Thank Seth. QOD. Long tights and gloves in winter are always a must have. In summer the vest and the short tights. I am assuming running shoes are an obvious.

My favorite season to run in is winter because it reminds me of home (I'm from Alaska, but am stuck in the lower 48 right now for work). The most important piece of gear for this season, outside of the shoes which are the most important for any season, depends on what kind of shoes you have. If you have good studded shoes (like Icebugs), then I would say a gator to prevent snow from getting into your shoes. If you don't have studded shoes, then a pair of ice cleats. I come from a place with too much ice.

i'm 260lbs and i like this shoe a lot. great for faster runs and slower ones alike. even at my weight the midsole is very responsive and springy but still not messy. with many cushioned shoes they kinda fold under my weigh and compress too much but i'm super impressed with how these keep shape even under my weight. I knew going in these shoes wouldn't last forever but that's ok.
@astolzy
@astolzy 3 года назад
First, the QD: My favorite season for running is spring: it's been cold and you've been bundled up so much, and you can finally start shedding layers and running in less. It's liberating! Most important gear is the shoes, of course! 🤣 Other than that obvious, in spring the most important is gloves. My hands always get cold first, and it makes a huge difference - even if I'm in shorts, I might still need gloves 🤷‍♀️ Secondly, I would definitely agree that you are not a "running shoe channel". Yes of COURSE you talk about running shoes - you're a runner! But the shoe reviews are not why I tune in everyday. I tune in to keep up with YOU, because I like YOU and the overall feeling of community and inspiration that you provide... and the training insights, and your family, and your progress, and the beautiful videography you share ❤ honestly, sometimes I don't even watch the shoe reviews! (like the recent Saucony Guide 14 - haven't watched that one yet, cuz I honestly have no interest in that shoe 🤷‍♀️). * Please please don't let anyone or anything else change/affect what content you provide, Seth. Continue to follow your intuition, as you've specifically mentioned a few times recently. You hit it on the head, and that's why we love you 🙏

My favourite season to run in is the spring, with the colder temperatures gone and not too hot yet. Also the anticipation of gearing up the training schedule for the usual races on the calendar (in a normal year at least 😣). QD: I’d say my favorite season to run in is late Spring/early Summer. The funnest season to run in is Winter here in Colorado. Snow, ice, 😘. Nothing like seeing your breath when you run. Gloves are ever so important for me because my hands get cold in the 50s when the sun is down. Will be investing in some of those mitten style gloves for next year.

It’s a great shoe. It’s the pair I reach for when I just want to enjoy running. So much fun. I’d be amazed at 350 miles in it though. I’ve barely hit 100 and the outsole is already showing a lot of degradation and I’m a fairly light (65kg) striker.

QOD: Here in Michigan, there is nothing like running in fall. The crisp air, crunching leaves, and cool temperatures just scream running. The touch of nostalgia (for me) connected to cross country also plays a big role here as well. As for running gear in the fall, a good long sleeve tech shirt is usually the catch-all can't-fail piece of "gear." The beginning of fall can still be quite warm, so push up the sleeves and go. Later on? slip the thumbs through the thumb-holes. Perfect!

Great and fascinating review, it’s so interesting about your views on lockdown. I find the Rebel V2 very good, one of the best for lockdown. If I were to tighten the laces as you do and use a runners knot my feet would hurt or go numb with ‘pins & needles’ and so I find that this shoe locks my foot down in a full and even way without any pressure points and is just perfect. We are all different it’s just goes to show 👍
@philippegagne268
@philippegagne268 3 года назад
That’s right! the fit can vary a lot cause we all have feet of different shape and volume. I find Seth has to tighten his shoe like crazy and he refers often to scrunching at the base of laces. I never have this problem as I have a larger volume foot. Tried the rebel v1 but returned it...that booty style was too tight. Looks like they changed the upper on the v2 so this should help.

QOD: I’ve always had my best performances during the warmer months of the year so I’d say I enjoy summer running the most. Especially a late evening summer run where the temps are just warm enough to keep the body happy and I can catch the sunset if the location and timing are right. Must have outside of the mandatory would have to be my ear buds, because zoning out to some good music, podcast or audiobook as the miles role along is the best.

If i do i will let DGR know what it was like for a 195lb'er. Favorite season to run in here in Tucson is Winter; at 35-45F. I'mma just say Seth, maybe consider not telling every shoe manufacturer to put less rubber on their outsoles, especially for trainers? I get the need for lightness on racers, but I'd really rather have midsole wear, not outsole wear, be the reason why I have to buy a new pair of shoes. The decreased max mileage on a shoe really just isn't worth the 0.1oz weight reduction. (I know that this is all just your personal preference, but I think brands listen to you more than they do to me)

The Rebel v1 is very comparable to the Skechers Razor 3 or any of the new versions in case someone is looking for another option. I'm excited for this Rebel update and damn is is a great looking shoe.

I’m a flat footed runner. That said, do I really need a stability shoe? I’ve typically purchased the Asics Kayano, which is a heavy shoe (as you know). I’m trying to branch out. I’m about 170 pounds - muscular/athletic build (large thighs and upper body) What would you suggest? I’ve purchased the Nike Infinity Run and I ran four mile in them this morning to warm up and I love them. Thanks. I love your channel!! Truly motivational!!!

I bought them, just had a 7 miles run. They're definitely fast and bouncy. But, not a long run shoe for me - more like a Tempo shoe. They feel light, they're fun - but I had all these weird sensations around my ankles on and off - wouldn't take them longer than a Half for sure. After the run my legs felt fine. I don't regret buying them, but I wouldn't call it a versatile shoe

I just put in an order for a couple more Saucony shoes this morning...I suppose I'll have to wait to try these for another few months, or maybe I just break the bank account!

I get an incredible runner's knot lockdown from the Rebel v2 if I loop it thru the same hole. It's so good that I was wondering if that was the intention in the first place, and they maybe just forgot to mention it..?

QD: i live in Thailand, we have 3 seasons, cool season, hot season and extreme hot season. Gear i need all year round is a sweatband (compressport) to keep the sweat away.

QD: My favourite running season is definitely summer beacuse that't the time of the year best for trail running and I absolutely love my trail running shoes. Onward and upward!

So I’m a jogger currently wearing NB 880’s but when I pick up the tempo I feel like I’m hitting the pavement hard. I am 6’1” 208 so if this a better shoe for me?

Hey Seth, love the channel and the motivation! It seems like these and the Beacons occupy the same space. Do you have a preference?

I love the beginnings of this video. I love reviews for sure, but the shoes don’t make the runner. The other videos are what bring the butter!

Im fixing to get the rebel v2, but my current RC Elite v1s need to be retired first. Think ill have some fun in those before getting myself into the rebel v2. Then looking forward to seeing the Elite v2 and the Metaspeed Sky matchup... when they ever become available...

Is this running shoe suitable for over-pronators? I find the Novablast very unstable to run in, is this shoe similar to the Novablast regards to cushioning and how is the stability? Could an over-pronator like me use this shoe??

Question: Which shoe would you choose between novablast 2 and rebevl v2 for a daily trainer with fast paces

As a forefoot striker I'm intrigued by these. Also curious how they hold up over time. Many of the soft midsoles I've tried are usually toast once you run in them in the rain. With being a Seattle native and planning to return, that's a big factor.

Did you ever get them. I’m at 300 miles, 3rd wettest July in SC did not phase the shoe. Rebel v2 are great. They do give blister/hot spot on inside bottom of my right big toe, which has never happened before, but toe has gotten used to it now.
