Sold my 2022 Gen2 MT10 for a Superduke. The reverse of you. Had no problems with duke. Had Gen1 Mt10 aswell before. The Mt10 is great, great bike, it really is. I think it tips in slightly better than duke. Perhaps this down to shorter wheel base. But for me the duke is better. I love the more aggressive foward feeling and the instant torque. The brakes are better on duke. If you plan on keeping MT10, then look for braided lines and upgrading the pads. Ive s20,s21,s22 tyres . Mt10 eats tyres,, sometimes only 1600 miles on rear. I think the tyre rubber that comes with bike is of a lesser quality than if you bought off shelf. Comfort seat helps. Srock yam additional screen can help but depending on your torso height, wind can channel under your helmet, creating more noise but helps tucking in. I used tacho, set for 100 miles then look for fuel. Enjoy it mate
Happy to see you smiling pal, hopefully the sun starts to shine soon. It's sad to see the beast sat in the corner like a naughty dog but its for the best 👍
I own both a 2019 MT10 and a new SD Evo. I bought the Evo knowing I would be living elsewhere for a bit so I have not had much opportunity to ride the SD. Yesterday I decided to to take a good spin on both bikes because I am thinning the herd. The MT10 is a great machine, reliable, fun and comfortable. When comparing the two and leaving reliability out of the equation the SD is a better machine, more features, more of everything. After witnessing your experiences it is a tough call though, I only have 175 miles on my SD so noting has popped up in terms of failures. If the naked bike is your preference I think you chose the best bike on the market in terms of overall street riding. I rode all of the nakeds and I think these two for the street are better than the Street Fighter, Tuono etc. I think you will get the same smile factor from the MT10 as the SD but it will be bulletproof! Good luck!
Having owned more than my fair share of Yamahas over the years and one still in the garage, I definitely think you made a great choice👍🏽…Yamaha makes practically bulletproof bikes and the MT-10 has a ton of character to boot! Enjoy, and safe riding👊🏽
Congrats with the new bike. Had a 17’ MT10 SP for three years before I got my 20’ SDR. That CP4 engine is something special. The Duke might be quicker, but the sound of a decated CP4 is to die for. Really miss it at times, but thats how it is with bikes, allways something new and tempting coming to the market 😅 I highly recommend getting an ECU flash as it really transform the throttle response and makes it friendlier around town. Anyway best of luck with the new bike 🤞
Thanks mate, it sounds lovely, and the engine is a peach. The throttle on these newer models is very very good, I'm shocked however I will be getting a decat and a tune at some point 👍
That CP4 is a gem, one of the most enjoyable engines I’ve ridden…had a 2015 R1 for 6 years and although I love my SDR, I do miss that crossplane sound and feel.
Congrats on the new bike man, the look on you're face when the bike arrive says it all, I'll be looking forward to the videos, that is the bike I was going to buy before I got my SD
i've owned an 18 plate mt 10 for a year now , apart from being thirsty its the best bike ive owned and has been problem free , comfort seat and suspension setup were my first mods - as you noted , the back end needs hardening up which is easily done on adjustment- have fun and be safe.
Hi mate, think you've made a great choice and hopefully you'll have many trouble free adventures on your new bike, very reliable and she a looker in my book, good luck mate and stay safe my friend 😀
Man I am a bit envious you got to ride yours (other vid). I have to wait at least another week because some parts are still installed. And the weather channel said it’s gonna snow these days? 😳 Well wish ya good luck with your new mt10 👍
@@sergeantsodom6969 I subscribed from Australia! I'm going to look at one tomorrow but I'm 5' 10" but only 29" inseam. Is it as bloody tippy toes as KTM's??? I hate that. Cheers mate.
Congratulations! Hope you have better luck with this one. Two duds on the bounce must be a record. This shouldnt go wrong but I bet your local Yamaha dealer has suddenly developed a case of mild anxiety seeing you choose one of these 😉
The annoying thing is that some dealers just don’t want to help .. Triumph should have just said “ sorry for your issues here’s a new bike “ end of !! KtM should have just said “ Yes sir the bike is a pile of shit here’s your money back “ simple!
Great choice Mate, they're a cracking bike, I had the last Gen SP version, still kicking myself for selling it, bought a SDR 2.0 no issues so far, but I'm liking the new MT10 very much 👍
Sergeant looks very nice my brother had the MT 10 Very nice enjoy hope no problems my triumph 1200 rs is going well got loads mods will look different to any full loaded sc project race exhaust 😇
@@sergeantsodom6969 Just had its annual service ( basically an oil change) and rear brake pads £360 bloody quid! That’s Triumph for you! AND they didn’t reset the service light so I have to go back ! 😡
@@pcarts232 i owned a speed triple before the MT 10 - i got some bad news for you about the 12k valves clearance service if you think that expensive :P
@@pugster1969 Nooooo 🤬!! How much is that service? I’m on 4 K now, I’m getting rid of it before that one then ! 😂I’ll give it back to Triumph for the Street Triple haha 😂
Not as pretty as the SDR but at this point I doubt you care. If my new SDR gives me the kind of trouble you’ve experienced, I’ll be going the same route.
@@sergeantsodom6969 One of those 'between a rock and a hard place'. They're your dealer so you can't alienate them, followed by the frustration of not being able to tear them the new asshole they deserve. A real douchebag thing to do.
@@speedtriprr537 Are you taking the piss? Do you think I'd be documenting every step and issue on a public platform, alongside the amount of stress this has caused me, I wish it was a fucking scam! Get out of here
