This long video Jason is one of the underrated albeit best. The content and information I gleaned from here is amazing. I'm impressed by Claas their approach in embracing the future through technological innovation. I envy the operators with those smooth and MAN and Mercedes Benz engines. Our South African Class combines are all powered by Perkins as I indicated before.

Awesome Video! Nice to see some much needed improvements. The operator interface in the cab looks like a much easier system to operate over the generation older models. Also, I appreciate the ladder to access the grain tank, the older machines were almost impossible to get in over the top, always had to remove the access panel to the right of the cab and crawl through the hole. Great job Claas, I'm looking forward to seeing this machine in action some day with the improved capacity!

Being an old farm equipment mechanic from 1980 to 1990 and working for a Ford, Heston, New Holland, Bombardier, Honda Power and other minor equipment dealership. If you scrape the paint on pre 1985 ford combines it is light green under. I attended a service school in Columbus Indiana and seen the cat track system prototype, I think on a CS116 combine with computer controlled dual hydro stat and a v12 Mercedes diesel. Side doors all bent up, I guess engineers forgot when taking off corn where could a lot of mud involved, go figure! Then the very late 80's into the 90's there was a lot of manufactures being bought out or were in joint ventures. But New Holland and Claas are still my favourites, I also did a lot of work on the NH TR combines.

Claas was marketed through Ford tractor dealers when I was involved with them. I drove a 105 Dominator to Columbus Indiana from Seymour Indiana when Claas moved to Columbus (Walesboro). I ran one for a couple of years they were great then. And they have improved since. Claas can run popcorn when others can't. I don't know why they don't use the baler knotter insignia anymore. Claas invented it.

Probably down to yields in North America, when New Holland set the wheat harvest record in the Cr10.90 the field they chose was in England and the yield was around 150 bushels per acre. I’m sure when Claas bring out a 50ft+ header the 8900 will be launched over there.

Im not a farmer (and will probably never be), so can anyone (with true experience) tell me what is the life expectancy of big machinery like this ? Big combine harvester like claas. The machines will outlast a person with proper care, the high wear areas will need replaced every 10000 acres
@TheHrt5
@TheHrt5 4 года назад
@@daynebrown1611 Yeah, but i was always wondering... the amount of technology in this combine is very high. All of the software and everything. It actually requires proper care from certified tehnician. Lets be honest, farmer can only do so much to mantain this beast. What will happen once the machine gets a bit older, like 10 - 15 years and GPS dies for example ? Most manufacturers wont maintain machines like that for that long. Famous case is John Deere with their starfire system. And the new one cost pure fortune. I mean, is it possible to maintain vehicle like this one even after system like all of the touchscreens etc die after some years ? Can you keep it running without all of that technology ? Like the regular oldschool combine even if that means you will have to run everything manually (no auto-steer etc.) ?
@daynebrown1611
@daynebrown1611 4 года назад
Wiring harnesses will go out before the monitor will, and these are easily replaced (at least on CASE IH they are easily replaced) as well as relatively inexpensive considering the job they do. Without working wiring harnesses this machine appears to not have any manual adjustment, so it would not be able to change crops without a new harness. On every machine these harnesses are a major crutch especially with the additional sensors and cameras that have been added.
@piperdoug428
@piperdoug428 4 года назад
@@daynebrown1611 Yeah we had a ghost in our electrical of our CX8080 2nd harvest and after some diagnostic with the mechanic on his laptop and software support (somewhere else in the world via satelite) they pulled the pin and yanked the harness, sure wouldn't want that bill after warranty is off.

Yes Claas is still family-owned. Cathrina Claas Mühlhäuser is the chairman of the supervisory board.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QwF0HrXbGQQ.html

Most North Americans just dont understand what kind of yields these machines are tested on.

Please enlighten us .... since we don’t have good yields here in North America 🙄
@piperdoug428
@piperdoug428 4 года назад
Never said the yields weren’t good in N.A but you asked, in Ireland the average across the whole country, not just the best part and yes the AVERAGE is for Spring Wheat=105bsl, Spring Barley=162.5bsl and Oats=181bsl. Like I said it can be worse but it can be a whole lot better

This guy knows his stuff ,but a claim of 30% more productivity over the competitors seems a bit of a stretch, btw the threshing system looks like the old John Deere CTS .
@ignasanchezl

Honestly it wouldn't surprise me. The Jaguar Forage harvester has been consistently rated for the most fuel efficiency and most output per rated horsepower. And the difference is incredible big. If that efficiency experience in engineering translates into the Lexion, it might not be 30% more efficient than every combine but I wouldn't be surprised if it has 10-15% more output than a comparable Deere or Case IH.
@interman7715
@interman7715 4 года назад
ignafiltro He said a thirty percent increase over the nearest competitors ,which would be Caseih ,Deere and New Holland.

not a stretch they can do it the old 760 held the world record inmost bushels of corn harvested in 8 10 and 12 hr times the new ones are bigger and better they can do it no problem

@@joescheller6680 Checkout the New Holland 10-90 it's held the world record since 2014 and the machine has been improved since then ,I personally don't think much comes close to it or the Caseih 9250 .There's a video on YT with a Caseih 9240 harvesting with a 24 row corn head ,I don't think much would be close to it.

I film several S790 combines. The 7500 has them beat in unloading speed and technology. This Lexion really sets a new standard.

I film all brands of combines. John Deere makes a good combine. The technology, 8,000 bu an hour and 5.1 bu unloading rate of this 385 bu. Class 7 Combine has the class 9 400 bu, 5,000 bu per hour 3.8 bu per second John Deere S790 our paced.

Well the Lexion is built in Omaha, NE. I should have shown the American Flag 🇺🇸 decal on the cab door. Claas employs allot of people in the United States and makes one impressive combine.
