I have this set. Picked it up on amazon. Great set. Great to have it all in one, instead of piece milling. I have a use for each piece. Saved me a lot of money over buying individually. Thanks for the review. Well done.
To actually ensure that it’s perfectly flat you would need to insert the adapter first and then set the grub screws, but that would be pretty cumbersome with the 4 screws. So you’re hoping for tight tolerances instead. M also a bit worried some some users would use too much force while screwing the adapters in and thus stressing the calipers that way .
Very nice! SAC makes some nice comparators as well, but they are way more $, and this all on one set looks great and is super reasonable. I see that in the US this is made by the same folks who do the Ugly Annealer, which is another great deal. Thanks for the first look! 👍
@@EricChristopher-mr5ktLooping back around on this, I picked a set up based on your recommendation and really love it. Not having to cross ref the comparator number to a caliber as with others is a big plus as you mention. It’s also an incredible value for what you get, compared to any other set out there. To date in addition to this and the Ugly Annealer I’ve also picked up their PCPS and upgraded shell holders as well. Thanks again for your video. 🙏
I have a general question on the comparators and not specific to this product. I have been using Hornady bullet seating comparator for .22 cal for my 6mm, 7mm and .30 cal bullets because that's all I have, and didn't bother to get the larger caliber ones, because I thought since it's a relative value and as long as the measurement is taken at same location on the bullet curvature using the same insert, why should it matter if I use a .22 cal insert on larger calibers? I guess it's the same idea with Derraco set, no? If all I want is to measure maximum COAL then back off .020", is there a reason why I cannot use the .22 insert for this task on larger calibers? Thanks.
@@EricChristopher-mr5kt So you measured the .243 bullet comparator hole and found a hole diameter of .236", and 6.5mm comparator hole you got a measurement of .256"?
