The first quad I built that survived long enough for me to learn how to fly was the Emax Nighthawk II frame. She had the Emax red bottom 2205 2400kv. I lost her on the 4th of July 2016, and found her over a year and a half later. After being exposed to the freezing winter, the baking summer, and who knows how many feet of rain, for 18 months, the motors still spin! I didn't try to fly her though. I felt like she had earned a place of honor on the wall. She is now retired.

Been running emax eco II motors since I started racing in 2021, can't wait to try these!

Would def use these. Be cool to see the red bottom color scheme.

Nice video, dude. My 5 cents about motors: they are certainly fast. That comes with battery drain quick. Or hard throttle cap. DUrability is not as good as 533 motors, but they are a bit lighter. The screw holding the bel needs to be better and m3. For more comfortable bell swap.

It's good to see Emax getting back to their roots. I remember when I first tested the original RS2205 motors on MQTB I just sat there giggling when I saw the numbers coming in. Now days it seems pretty tame, but back in the day when the Cobra 2204 (that was actually a 2205) 2300kv was pretty much the most powerful option it was mind blowing the difference. I would actually say Emax contributed in a significant way to the entire modern paradigm of motor design. The RS2205 pretty much set the standard that we still use. The only things that have changed are really stator size and bell construction. The engineering part in terms of stator and magnet layout is still pretty much exactly the formula the Emax released with the RS2205 with only minor modifications. Crazy days to be involved in the hobby! Within a year all the motors had shifted.

Wow you are a true OG! I came on after that cobra but was aware of them.

Weren't those cobras, the gold ones, also closer to 2700Kv? They were animals! I killed so many lipos with those!! 😍😍
@QuadMcFlyFlies
@QuadMcFlyFlies 8 месяцев назад
@@unknown-subject8499 the gold ones were the CP series and much later, they were basically Cobra's response to the RS2205 to prove they could do it too. To be fair the Cobra CP series are to this day one of my favorite motors of all time. I still fly the 2207 2450 kvs on a couple rigs and I am jealously hoarding my last few sets. I tested to 2600kv version and they tested right at 2600kv for me (2580 I believe), but any motor that large and that high Kv is definitely a battery killer!

@@JonE5FPV yeah Cobra kind of fell apart not long after the Champion series motors came out. You can still get some of their airplane series motors, but they pretty much entirely disappeared from the FPV market. The way they exited was super weird too, just kind of ghosted. Left sponsored pilots hanging in the wind, and left vendors holding the bag. Was really bizarre. I think the intellectual property for the other motors was absorbed back into the Suppo Motors parent company but apparently they had no desire to stay in the FPV market and race to the bottom. Suppo makes both Cobra and Scorpion motors and they seem to still be around, but I'm not as involved in that side of things as I used to be.

Nice video my man. Loving the Transformers edits!! Also.......N.W.A........nice!! I'm still using the Eco 2004 on my ultralight builds and they are very very durable. I haven't broken one yet. Pifly uses them too I think and she agrees that they are very robust. Keep em coming dude! 😍😍😍😍😍

I love the emax oldies, definitely should have red bottom styling for sure, i still run rs2205s, lite spec and rsii motors on my 4s builds, i grab them when i see them cheap on ebay, but I'm not a fan of multicore wire wrapping on 6s, and why no monobell... Thought we was past those failure points...

What about 4s motors ? And are they good for freestyle
@JonE5FPV
@JonE5FPV 8 месяцев назад
they also have a 4S 2500kv (although the 2100 would work as well, just not as punchy). They would for sure work well for freestyle.
