I find myself quitting during the survivor challenges. I had no idea why they locked ranking up behind those missions. Tou can only kill one demolisher per mission too so you have to play these missions a whole lot. Its a good update but the gun agent missions locked with ranking up is bad. I rather be able to complete them in the open world.

I’m just glad that they had a narrative quest that explains why there are guns out in the wild now. I was worried it would just be a message in the game saying “hey we added guns today”

i asked for this since the beginning of DL2, and I will still ask for techland to add this: ZOMBIES, let me be more clear, zombies, staring at the sun when its setting. In DL1 before nightfall, there's a brief moment where all zombies(except virals, and special infected) stop moving, and stop attacking, as they all stare at the sunset. Still is my favorite detail from Dying light 1

If you have the resources to make them, you can sit on top of the hut and spam molotovs onto the generator. The zombies cant get close because theyre stunned for as long as they're on fire. The zombies also can't attack you on top of the hut

You can also just use the windmill attack in combination with a regeneration booster, even the elite mission is pretty easy if you do that.

I’m really happy with how they keep bringing this game more in line with how DL1 was. The zombies actually look like humans instead of dried jerky. Villedor feels more unique with the interior changes. I’m loving the harran sunset filter. I just hope techland pumps more little details and physical updates into the game to make it feel more inline with the original. Thanks Techland 😊

I’ve finally gotten back into the game for the first time since launch and I’m really enjoying it, but there’s some stuff I really hope they fix. Guns only being available through an agent you have to grind is pretty ridiculous. They should start spawning in vendors and enemies after the quest is finished. I also like that they’ve made volatiles more common in night but I think they kinda overcorrected there, like there’s so goddamn many that it’s pretty much impossible to do anything at night until way later on. Also shit like the quest with the slowpoke dude is literally impossible to do right now cause of volatiles lmao.

I agree on both statements. But the Volatiles is a real issue for beginning players. I played DL2 when it first launched. Finished the game. And I took a break. I’ve always liked the game. So I saw all these new updates. I decided try a second playthrough. Well when I found volatiles on every street and rooftop. I was like whoa. I agree when the game first came out. The night really didn’t have any true difficulty. But man. What a way to swing the pendulum. I think it’s an over correct. If you never played a Dying Light game. And you try to jump in with the volatiles in this state. It doing to be a very difficult time for new players. I think a slider on how many volatiles are out is needed.

are y'all lil kids or what? how the night is hard, the night is a JOKE, you can evade volatiles so easy compared to the first game? the point of the night being "scary" or "challenging" is to make the game more dynamic and unique, the day is a "normal" zombie game but in the night it's something completely different, I don't get why stupid people like both of you can say that the night is hard or that the volatiles roaming around are something bad for the game, the night before was shit, nothing challenging like the first game

I agree on the guns through the agent is a grind but the volatiles have been like that since the first game. It is meant to discourage travelling at night but those who dare will be greatly rewarded. Whilst the first game did not have as much volatiles, I really like the amount in the second game since it is a lot more vertical and hence it is quite easy to escape from a chase without going to a safe zone.

If it wasnt for the push for guns and updates this game wouldve been abandoned . the community maps are basically techlands golden ticket. They dont have to build it but they know the fans want 2018's content. So while they put a bandaid of some "events" and then go "here community YOU make the content we cut and you wanted. But ha ! We finally added guns, buuuuttt that takes 80 years to complete challenges to get an assault rifle."

DL1 is using the Chrome Engine, while DL2SH is using the C-Engine. They are remaking old features from scratch basically. They improved the ragdolls in the Firearms Update, maybe they will improve it even more in the upcoming patches.

Overall it's a good update, though I think with Jai we've reached the event horizon in Agents beginning to detract from the game rather than add to it, especially because Jai is the most divorced from the open world compared to other Agents. It might be nice as well to get a "catchup" mechanic to level multiple Agents at once via certain activities, as I imagine the whole thing must be a nightmare for newcomers

I'm loving the guns, the sound design and animations are just PERFECT, my only issue is that the grind to acquire new guns is INSANE, I did 5 survivor missions in a row with my lower level friend and I STILL didn't have the points needed to get the SMG. Also, Happy Birthday Oni 🎉 ❤

I like that they added guns, I don’t like that they said “it’s as organic as possible” while hiding them behind a ridiculous grind wall and a vendor. It’s not organic unless they’re actually out in the world amongst your Allies and enemies. Maybe they’ll rectify this, I don’t know. Another problem is that they copied the first game’s guns instead of creating new ones. The animations are great and definitely vastly improved but that was just lazy. They need to introduce new firearms, if they want to inject all the guns used in the first game and build upon that by introducing new ones, great but if they’re just going to continue reselling the first game assets as content it’s going to get annoying.

My only issue with this update besides breaking scrap guns A LOT. It's how all the guns deal the same damage vs there higher quality counter parts.

Appreciate the video. Not to be a dick but can we stop thanking companies for what is essentially fixing their own game. They released a game that, from what I can tell, was a far cry from what everyone wanted and was a major step down from the first game. I played about 5 hours on the free weekend and wasn't moved enough to move forward. I did have DL1 in the my library, unplayed, so I installed that and have to say, I'm liking it a lot more. I don't understand how these companies mess up sequels so bad. How did they JUST add guns to this game! Crazy.

Are the survivor board missions still bugged? Every time I play them I get soft locked and I'm stuck in the challenge and can't do anything until I join someone else's game or close my game

If you're playing Publicly, join someone else's game then dropout immediately. However, if you're consistently doing the survivor missions by yourself just switch your game to single player and it should fix the soft lock issue. Hotfix coming in a week tho

Two personal nitpicks I still have is the zombies jump on you way too often during a fight and upgrading weapons is unnecessarily tedious and grindy.

my game had a bug where I can't do any time trial challange side quests. just stuck at the beginning and can't do anything beside return to main menu. ohh only the batting the zombie challange is working. i stop playing because it's not fun. but after the update i manage to beat the campaign. it feel more fun now.

I wish honestly for both guns and bows they would just swap blocking with aiming down sights. It's just a stupid feature that makes it annoying you have to aim pressing control. Like techland it's okay to remove blocking from guns, i don't use a gun to block

So i got back playing it after spending some time with dead island 2 on game pass. Man the movement in dl 2 is still great. I just wish they had a similar gore system to Dead Island 2. Game is fun to play, i still have a problem with all the grind for tokens but at least now messing around and with how quick weapons are to repair, it’s like they actually want you to have fun for once

the only bugs I've encountered so far is the screen being permanently blury after either opening a weapon wheel of some kind, but that only happens half of the time or when I'm fighting things like goons or demolishers where their attacks do the same effect doesn't happen 100% of the time, but it is annoying having to leave and rejoin my game every time it happens besides that game's been very fun with friends again there's been at least 5 times where my friends are fighting something and they say "oh yeah I have this" and then you just hear gun shots in the distance

The only thing I enjoyed about the year of the dragon event was that I could farm a lot of tokens for the agents especially on the day were the amount you got was doubled

I think this update was great. Many have issues with number of volatiles but I am enjoying this. It is helping me farm samples for ranking up gear and exp. I noticed many places do look more like original game in terms of art style which I like. The more frequent encounters tho from them bursting out windows, doors etc more frequent like first game. If they release BTZ I will be super happy. BTW Happy Birthday Oni. Mines is on same day. lol

I have to start a new game plus because the one save I have right now the update isn’t fully implemented. Kinda like subnautica when you get updates and have to start over but it’s okay thank god for new game plus
