New laws in Minnesota will take effect on Monday. Significant changes include a new delivery fee, a non-compete ban, and "deep-fake" penalties. kstp.com/kstp-news/top-news/r...
Just don't have over $100 of stuff delivered in one day, and you don't have to pay it! And this from someone quite conservative. Whining isn't patriotic. You have a choice.
But I guess impacting companies like Amazon, Uber, Lyft, Doordash is not a solution. Let's impact the consumers them... so they can continue squeeze out our wallet 😢
80 yrs here, most disgusting behaviors by the Dems last 4 yrs,all legislation did not let any discussion...17$ billion spent, still passed tax after tax in 2024... Retire them for 10 yrs at least 🆘
17 bil can buy a shat tone of safe roadways, safe bridges, safe guard rails. Where are they? Where did all our investment money go? Can anyone prove 17+billion was even spent in our state let alone on it?
How many taxes have they already added for roads? If my memory is correct they bumped sales tax awhile ago for roads. They never have enough of our money! They even blew through last years SURPLUS and need MORE MONEY. The DFL are destroying Minnesota and America.
Are you happy enough with the condition of the roads? Do road taxes cover the costs of highways and bridges? How should new highways and bridges be funded?
@@AlbertHess-xy7ky You think so huh? What do you think about this? Those who cast the votes decide nothing those who count the votes decide everything. Joseph Stalin If voting mattered they wouldn't let you do it. Mark Twain
born in Minneapolis in 1979 , lived here almost my whole life.... I loved growing up in this city . Now I can't stand it here... I honestly never thought I would want to leave , but now I can't wait to gtfo... I'm seriously even considering moving to Wisconsin 🤢...
So move, we still have that freedom for now, watch out for border patrol, tho, someday they might be lookin to kennel YOU up for that move to Wisconsin
Uhmm why do we have a gas tax ????? Oh right thats for the roads hey what the heck Minneapolis still has the same crap roads as it did 8 years ago and dont forget about that chunk on I 35 where they just wont complete it for some reason
Hopefully one of those new laws states the state/county will maintain regular upkeep on dams. And if they fail to do so they will be libel for any and all damages resulting in their failure to keep rivers flowing properly.
If the waterways are clogged with debri, the county bears that responsibility to clean the waterways, better yet remove the dam that's not been used as the intended purpose for many years.
Gotta pay for those outrageous pensions somehow. Adding a tax on cigarettes years ago was to help build that stadium, it’s been built for years & tax has stayed.
Those restrictions on "non-compete" agreements are a good idea. My former employer, a museum in Minnesota, tried to make us sign some piece of garbage forbidding us to work for any other museum, library, or archives ever! Ridiculous.
Today the State of Minnesota collects about $500 million annually in motor fuel taxes (in addition to other taxes and fees) to maintain state, county, municipal and township roads. The gas tax is a primary source if highway revenue.
Minnesotans voted to part with more of their $$. They feel so guilty acquiring wealth... And they KNOW their Government will invest it wisely...You betcha !
LMAO always more taxes for roads... wheelage tax was raised for new tabs, years ago getting MN into powerball was going to be the end ALL to fix the roads!! What MN has is a goooberment "out of control!" Outstate (not the MPLS/STPAUL districts) hold the whole state responsible and accountable for their lack of MANAGEMENT. What's painfully obvious is that these same city slickers crowd the major highways out of MPLS/STPAUL It's been that way for decades! I'm talking over 50 years! Rather disgusting -IF You ask me. Maybe IF these same people the push climate change would stay home is their quagmire we could cut some CO 2 LMAO Oh that disgusting gross flag! As well- I DO NOT CONSENT I DO NOT COMPLY
The people delivering packages pay gas taxes. How should EVs be taxed for road use? Should all vehicles be taxed on a per pound/per mile basis? EV's pay sales and excise taxes.
They have enough money. Priorities are skewed by foolish, distorted policy choices aimed at the way we wish things were and how we think things oughta be, not how things really are. But it's never enough money, is it? There is no top.
@@AlbertHess-xy7ky Is that some sort of weak analogy between my household and my government's budget? How old are you? We have money for sorts of stupid stuff, look around. Why do you think we have to play catch-up with our crumbling infrastructure? Because our priorities were screwed up. Look around at what we DO have money for and get back to me.
@@AlbertHess-xy7ky The answer is always both yes and no. Why haven't you learned that yet? My bills are paid and I'm quite grateful. Some people are never satisfied. Congratulations on 77.
Yep - the cumulative effect of all of these "just a little more" taxes is quite significant. Conversely, if its just 50 cents then why bother collecting it (answer is its a hell of a lot of money)?
Not to mention that 13 billion surplus. And no streets have been repaired, and the tax on cigarettes when the Super Bowl came, they said they'd resend it, guess what, then went up. Liars....
