Mahindra's man in charge of pre-delivery and fitting out vehicles is long serving veteran of the vehicle industry Tony Costley. Whenever you order a new vehicle you get a few choices and Mahindra is no exception. So in the ordering phase Roothy had some decisions to make - what's an old bushmechanic choose when he's thinking about a vehicle to last him out? Check this out. And don't believe it'll stay like this for long....

I’m really impressed by my Enfield Himalayan 4 Years later. That influenced this decision. Indian vehicles are strong and capable when the rest of the world has gone soft.

@@JOHNROOTHROOTHY Hi Roothy. Great video mate. Keep them coming. I will be in the market for a dual cab shortly, for farm and family work. I am torn between the Mahindra and new Triton. Could you elaborate more on what helped you choose the Mahindra over the other well known dual cabs. Cheers

@@JOHNROOTHROOTHY You are right the newer vehicles are not the old ones. Don't expect any new vehicles to last long including Toyotas. All manufacturers reduced the quality so much to sell more vehicles. Vehicle manufacturers want people to change them frequently so as to get more money and profits. So the best way is to buy what is best for the budget. Mahindra is the biggest Tractor and agricultural machine manufacturer in the world. So surely they are of good quality products.

Ive been sprooking Mahindra for years, good honest truck for a good price. not the most powerfull, pretty or comfy. but i dont think there ia a better value for money , i especially love the look of the "Black" series. i love that the come with a Amaron battery. they are in my mind the best battery available, best peforming, best lifespan (ive personaly seen 15 years from them) really good price. as an inderpendant battery supplier, i have been selling them for over 15 years.

Hi Roothy I bought the single cab 2.5LT Single cab in 2007 and used it as a Oversize vehicle, PILOT/ESCORT vehicle for 4 years. Travelled all over Australia, except Tassie, did over 400,000ks in it. Only trouble, a couple of clutches, alternator, ant the usual hoses and belts. Serviced every 5,000k. Good honest work truck. Still have it. Bill

I recently subscribed to the Mahindra newsletter Roothy and knowing how India has been manufacturing off road parts for Land Rover and their auto and truck manufacturing and engineering I had no problem looking seriously at India manufactured vehicles. What struck me was 2 things, Practicality and simplicity plus the engineering is unexpectedly better than both the Korean and Japanese offerings and light years ahead of the Chinese "Stuff". That said they dont seem to compromise on the good gear and have s tuff thats bloody useful in Oz like solid bullbars, brush bars a massive plus and good side steps. My only whinge is that Victoria is lacking in Dealers at just 2 I believe and they are way over West so no hands on look see for me for now. I can wait but Mahindra needs a Gippsland Dealer, I reckon the Farm and 4WD people will love it!

Looks like this ute is built real tough and will will tackle the Aussie outback. What's the ANCAP rating on these as I want to know that if my kids are driving down the highway the vehicle provides good protection if it's involved in a collision?? Not so concerned on the multitude of sensors that are also included as part of the ANCAP scoring these days.

its a farm / work ute not a rock-crawler.... how about a 5,000 km round trip to Birdsville including dirt roads, heavy rain, washouts and pulling a caravan, averaging 12 l /100km, no dust ingress, quiet and comfortable ride, good handling and no parts fell-off ? because ours did that effortlessly.

@J-P88 2 года назад
Ahhhh actually it's not sponsored, he has actually bought this with his own cash, just scroll back a few videos and you will hear him say that instead of just watching 1 video after it pops up on your recommendations, granted he has probably got a deal from the dealer but still had to part away with his Cash for it, he isn't Graham Cahill with a Dmax and to what I hear Ronny Dahl and his Hilux. Do you get annoyed at all those guys as well as all4adventure and Pat Callan the way the who're themselves out to the sponsers and change them each year after telling you that they are the best? Maybe say the same thing to All4adventure with all the sponsors they have, and also Ask Graham Cahill if he actually buys a new dmax every 2-3 years out of his own pocket

Euro 5 or 6 standard for emissions screw engines performances, hence why Nissan had to drop the legendary 4.2 TD as it couldn't keep up with the strict changes in emission laws. And also why you will rarely see a new Toyota comfortable get 500k Kilometres or Miles on the clock from 1 engine like the use to get in the 60 and 80 series. But you still have to pay 60k+ for a Dual cab and 100k+ for the Land Cruiser. Just go back and watch the "non sponsored" Dmax Graham Cahill of 4wd247 and co (sarcasm)
@JOHNROOTHROOTHY
@JOHNROOTHROOTHY 2 года назад
I ride motorcycles mate - performance in a ute means having enough power, and it has. Interesting comparison - I own a 12HT in Milo2, it's a superb engine - gets 7km/l on a good day, the 2.2L gets 14km/l = double the distance for the money. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
