Hey buddy just wanted to say thanks for the excellent video hitting all the details of the Nebula 32. Helped answer quite a few very specific questions I had which Osprey didn't touch on or make apparent in the website video/pictures. I fly for a living and needed to upgrade my backpack for day trips which I get to do frequently and the Nebula will be perfect for bringing half the farm and fitting in the cockpit next to me! Thanks again for the great analysis. Purchasing the 32. Cheers

Absolutely, thanks for checking it out. I take it to work with me daily and haven’t outgrown out the size or organization needs yet… it’s a great EDC pack.

You migt be the first review out there conparing thr 32L vs 34L. Bravo. I didn't quite get it when Osprey reduced the size of the new model from 34L to 32L. I got the 34L just as the 32L was coming out, and I am glad I did. The 34L is perfect size for travel; if I wanted a smaller bag, I'd go for something like a 25L. Not sure what a reduction of 2L does. Thanks for this comparison--I guess it confirms that I won't be upgrading (downgrading?) to the mee model.

Thanks! That was the exact reason I did this review… No matter where I looked, I could not find a real good comparison between the two. I use the 30 for almost every day now… But I’m glad I looked at both before making the decision, sounds like you made the right choice. Thanks for watching!

I have the 34 version since over a year and totally love it. thanks for your video to show the little diffrences. I like the better front organisation of the 32 version, still I'm not that suprised or want an updated version now. It seems to me the 34 version is still slightly better than the 32 version. i use my backpack as edc for work mostly, shopping, short trips. also i'm a huge fan of osprey as company. i have lots of their products!

I believe the handle is set on the back to slide through top handle of roller luggage.
@TheOutdoorWorkshop
@TheOutdoorWorkshop Год назад
Thanks for watching! That could have been their intent behind the back design, however it doesn’t seem like my luggage handle makes it up that high, unless someone is handing this off the back of their luggage which makes the rolling bag less balanced with the center of gravity. I appreciate the comment!

We just picked up the 32 today. One thing we found useful is that the chest strap is adjustable (in terms of where on your chest the strap crosses). It came be moved up and down to accommodate people of different heights/genders. I don’t know if this is included on the 34 but thought it was worth mentioning as other packs we looked at didn’t appear to offer this.
@TheOutdoorWorkshop
@TheOutdoorWorkshop Год назад
Thanks for the addition! It is the same on the 34 and certainly a nice feature to get a snug fit that can be adjusted specifically to each person. Thanks for watching!

If i could choose again, i would take the previous version (i bought the 32l 6 months ago). Very thin material on the top, that's why the handle is so weird and almost useless. The back isn't an airscape version. It doesn't expand when you load it. The mesh pouch can be fill if you don't unlock the compression strap.. One (only) good point is the double zip on the front pouch. I had the flare 22 from Osprey, similar to the nebula 34l in design and materials and i think the 32l is a downgrade version of osprey products. The 32l looks like great, the 34l is great. Sorry for my english, i'm french, thanks for your review
@TheOutdoorWorkshop
@TheOutdoorWorkshop Год назад
Thanks for the addition and information! Totally Agree on the material and handle on top. The double zip is a nice upgrade but you are right that is most of the useful upgrade for me. Still better than much of the competition out there, but I also agree I’ll be sticking with the 34… perhaps you can find it still in stock at a local retail location with low turnover. Thanks for the comment!

As an owner of the the older 34L Nebula, I took it to a local tailor and they added a second zipper pull on the admin section for $20. @@TheOutdoorWorkshop

The “top” handle placed on the back of the 32 will allow you to slide and secure your bag to the handle of your travel pull-behind bag. That’s enough to push me to the 32!

I was very disappointed with the 32L’s backpanel. No airflow and is not comfortable so I switched to the TNF Recon
@TheOutdoorWorkshop
@TheOutdoorWorkshop 9 месяцев назад
I do agree the increased foam on TNF recon is nice and allows for a nice air channel down the spine. That is one feature that would be nice to see bulked up on the Nebula, although they could have been trying the increase the balance between that and size/weight. But that is certainly an important feature to consider between the two when deciding. Thanks for watching!
@groberti
@groberti 9 месяцев назад
@@TheOutdoorWorkshop yes, I think you are right! Osprey is using 420D + 210D while the Recon is 300D + 210D so the Osprey one is a heavier build BUT it is 0.9 kilos vs the Recon's 1.1kg even though it, in theory, uses heavier materials. TBH I'd trade that diff in weight in a heartbeat for better comfort, it is not that big really imho. Otherwise great video, subscribed for sure! :)

I totally agree. It's a cheap sitpad instead of the airscape... The worst ' feature' from Osprey never seen before. it's definitely not a travel bag, ilt's so bulky and unconfortable when fully loaded...

Thank you for making such a useful review video which answered most of my questions! Have another question that if 34L has enough space for a 3-day trip?Need carry a pair of sneakers, several shirts and also a camera.
@TheOutdoorWorkshop
@TheOutdoorWorkshop 11 месяцев назад
There is plenty of room for what you mentioned. When traveling I can put a pair of shoes flat on the bottom of the pack then pile a lot more from there. You should be fine with a DSLR and some clothing items. Though I wouldn’t call this a three day pack, I think you could get away with it while packing warmer weather clothing if you can go with bare essentials, I could get away with three days max. I’ve also used the outside compression strap to hold down a light jacket and ticked the Romeo ends into the external water bottle pockets to secure and still had room in the admin portion for toiletries and small electronics. Hope that helps!

Hmm.. That is actually the black pack. I just checked my order, it’s the same Osprey Nebula Black O/S from the link… I think it may look like a blueish tint in that shot as the light is mixed with a little daylight from the window by my table. I hope that helps,l!

Hi, thanks for your great reviews, can you advise on which one to get between Nebula 32 and the Parsec? much appreciated.
@TheOutdoorWorkshop
@TheOutdoorWorkshop 11 месяцев назад
The Parsec 26 is about 20% smaller than the nebula 32 and doesn’t have the third laptop dedicated compartment. The Paraec does have the ability close the outer mesh pocket for added security with a zipper. I like the nebula because of the flexibility that take more on the go, and secure a laptop, iPad and other electronics in the third compartment… but the parsec seems like it would be sufficient for most daily applications, or possibly ideal for somebody with a smaller frame. Hope that helps!

@@TheOutdoorWorkshop Thanks for your comment, much appreciated. can I ask your opinion on the new Tropos 32 as well? it has the kickstand which sounds like a neat option.
@TheOutdoorWorkshop
@TheOutdoorWorkshop 11 месяцев назад
The Nebula and Tropos are pretty similar… the Tropos is designed more as a long term wear for activities such as hiking, mainly due to the curved back panel that allows a little more air movement - I’d say kind of similar to the dedicated hiking packs offered by Osprey… that being said the look is t too different, so it wouldn’t stand out in normal everyday carry as a hiking pack. The price point is a little higher with the Tropos as well. I’ve found that the nebula feels to have you pack sit closer to your back and still has a little mesh air channel for some breath ability. The Tropos has a slightly larger foorprint but maintains the same size, which in my opinion allows me to pack my nebula more as it seems to expand more away from the body, than spread along the surface area of the back with the Tropos. I really like the clamshell feature of the nebula for the technology compartment as well… I can’t specifically remember whether the Tropos has this feature, but I don’t think the Tropos opens all the way up for when you’re traveling through security. Those are definitely great options and I think the major difference is going to come down to personal preference on how it fits as you wear it.

I think you would be alright, the laptop compartment has some nice depth built into the design that should accommodate a bulky laptop. The width and height should be a snug fit on around the edges.

Does these 2L make any difference? Wanted 34, got 32 by mistake. I really want as much space as possible but 34 is not available now. Dimensions are almost the same. Is it possible that some of these 2L are in the mesh pocket on the outside?
@TheOutdoorWorkshop
@TheOutdoorWorkshop 8 дней назад
There really isn’t too much of a difference when you look at the main compartment size. I don’t think it’s reflected in the dimensions as it’s probably just a little more fabric length that gives the extra depth. When packing both, I can’t really tell a difference. Either way they’re both solid choices!

I have been using the 34l version for almost three years and can't seem to find anything else that is equally good, especially not the newer version. Every change in the newer version seems to be for the worse. Osprey had a classy visually unobtrusive design that they turned into Frankenstein's backpack where no two neighboring areas fit together. The materials seem to have gotten lighter and less durable. The main compartment sleeve is missing. The grab handle is positioned badly. The straps look lacking in padding for a 32 litre bag. All in all, this looks to me like "Supply chain issues - The Bag".
@TheOutdoorWorkshop
@TheOutdoorWorkshop Год назад
Yep, totally agree. Normally most designs take recommendations on what to improve into account into newer versions. This clearly wasn’t the case as most of the things remained neutral at best and degraded on many of the functions. I can’t find a reason that the newer pack would be the choice between the two, outside lack of availability on the 34. Thanks for watching and the comment!

@mathviews
@mathviews 7 месяцев назад
@@TheOutdoorWorkshop same. I get that they want the Nebula to be a jack of all trades type of pack and many wouldn't appreciate the extra bulk/weight of a padded hip belt, so they need to strike a fine balance. Plus, I suppose they'd have to redesign the back system to accommodate a pouch that would house the stowable hip belt. But still... It would be the perfect pack in my view. Anyway, good stuff as always. Keep on keeping on.
