Maxx c is broken but allowed at 3 and can draw you a ton of cards but pot of greed is banned. If they gave us pot of greed it would only be at one and only will draw you 2 cards. I need them to make it make sense to me because I can't understand the imbalance.
Honestly think the Zoodiac package in Mannadium could be bigger, deck does a lot of self-popping so you could pull some shenanigans by popping your Ramram at the right time.
Maybe he corrected himself on stream or I missed him doing so, but you cannot use Branded Banishment or Fallen of Albaz to out Sanctifire because it cannot be used as fusion material.
Expulsion is unnecessary with Sanctifire. You can search and loop a single Branded Fusion reliably enough now that extra copies are potential bricks, but it's still the only HOPT Spell in the deck I'd consider running 3 of outside of Nadir Servant(which I'm considering dropping to 2 for space), especially when going for full gas piles that ALWAYS need EVERY card to have something to do. I haven't seen so many cards that I want to run a single copy of since the last time I tried out a Cyberse Pile in Duel Links. The worst part is you might STILL go over 40 even if you play every card worth playing at 1(don't do this, there are certain things like Albaz, Lubellion and Aluber you want to have at multiple copies no matter what build you're on). Reminder that Reasoning and Grass are non-HOPTs, which is the main reason Grass had to be limited to begin with.
I like the idea of Zodiac, bc they are only extra deck used and you can prevent like link theme a dead hand. With using time thief theme, you can get trap mats with support xyz of them, which can be chained with the monster, bc it is time thief xyz and you cant negate new summoned xyz. I use Zeus very often with the Utopia which drops mats by destroying and stacking 2 mats for zeus if it is needed. Funny and it was by the hard nerf of barrage :)
NGL, I used to have a love/hate relationship with Maxx-C, especially when I was kinda newer to MD and didn't know what any decks did / chokepoints to hit in decks, these days I've joined the #BannMaxxC squad fully, it's not even just because of what it does to the game itself, it's actually starting to ruin content creator's potential footage AND tournaments like these. Like I can't tell you how many potential GOOD best of 3s that we just flat out miss 1-2 games of what COULD be great content in a great battle due to someone just dropping Maxx-C. They literally put MaxxC in to control combo decks but combo decks run MaxxC aswell so it's like.. "Watch me combo turn 1 then drop a MaxxC on you in turn 2" lmao. Its not the players fault either. What are you gonna tell someone.. handicap yourself by not running Maxx C in a "Competitive" game. Nah man, Konami just needs to ban the card like.. YESTERDAY, and finally let us move on and free those 3 deck spots up and start focusing more on how we can create and break boards fairly and actually git good. Even though players who use MaxxC aren't necessarily noobs, it's a noob card that basically promotes mediocre deck building and holds noobs hands. The card is like literally created for new players to get off tutorial island with.... there's enough board breaking cards in the game to let go of the Maxx C, Konami... Jeez. Lol..
Totally agree, and cards like Nibiru or Droll are already made to control combo decks and are much more balanced than Maxx"C" as well. For Maxx"C" it doesn't matter you summon a 20-monster combo or just 3 monsters for your basic line (like Vanquish Soul), the advantage Maxx"C" gives is already enough to cost you game.
"Good" players design their decks around doing more with less thanks to the stupid bug. That SHOULD be a good thing, but it isn't because of how polarizing certain game states become if they fail to open what they need to actually do that. And how many ridiculous things decks need to be able to do with just one card so all those workarounds don't result in constant bricking. The main problem with the card though has indeed always been how horrifically it limits deck design. But that might be what Konami wants, since forcing people to shoehorn certain cards into their deck honestly makes it easier to keep insane homebrews from spoiling their various attempts at powercreeping old tactics out of the format, and get people to actually consider trying new cards.
@@metalmariomega I honestly dont think it is Konami's intent, as TCG continues to play new archetypes without the existence of Maxx "C", but rather to boost the price of all its relevant cards (Ash Blossom, Called by the Grave, Crossout, and Maxx "C" itself) to increase profit.
@@hongquanpham7322 The trouble is that Konami now loves to create other decks that can summon negate in less than 5 summons, then continue their full combo. You can see Mannadium once in this tournament and can set up Barone de Fleur in 4th summon. Without Dimensional Fissure, this will be a full combo like nothing interrupts it. . Speaking of Droll, in the future we will get a new mechanic who can put monsters directly into your spell/trap zone. It bypasses Droll and Ash at the same time, you cannot use them to interrupt this play. . But if talk about fewer summon like VS or Labrynth. You should remember those decks gain advantages too while summon something. At worst, their condition is neutral advantages under Maxx "C".
Honestly, there are so many dozen-specials summons-a-turn decks in the Meta right now, I’m finding the Cockroach less objectionable than at any time *except* when EVERYONE was playing Braindead-D. Kind of want to puke over all the support Branded’s gotten, while so many other archetypes languish.
@@shawnpanzegraf5642 You're right about the support. We have seen more support for Branded in the last 2 years than any other archetype. I think it's time they let it rest and start coming up with support for other archetypes that did not make the cut. There are lots of interesting ways to play besides spamming fusions. Tears format got me sick of fusions.

Maxx c at 1 just makes it more frustrating when someone opens it. You'll probably still have to play cards like Ash or called by since using just one Maxx C is enough to win the game.
