I have found the best way to get a relatively flat surface really easily is to use the alignment mod. But it dosen´t work very well when you´re deep down because the alignment mod flattens in a sphere around the core.

FrostedPancake I use the Ali Mod at first then Un-Equip the ali mod and then just use Ctrl to get it flat.

So, I think the curved ones aren't quite 90°, so you have some extra space for easier wiring. At least in my experience, it's very difficult to wire up two platforms that are touching

I think you should get the stone figurines on the 2 moons (they are reddish and bluish, you can find them on the surface or in caves and they are only for chess andnot for checkers)

I noticed you skirting around the edits of the parts as they were printing. You can walk through the printing now (whereas before the print would pause until you left the print area). :)

I like the suites and the new platforms, but I was hoping for a bit more out of this patch, hope the next one is not too far off. I mean its not a game changer like the Jet Packs were. Looking forward to more terrain manipulation stuff and the proposed True Flat 2.0 (We will see :D )

do you mean back when you had to use two resin to extend your base in an octopus base shape? I can't really describe it better than that haha. I remember messing up because i didn't extend my base enough and couldn't make my base any bigger than what it was.

I remember. I joined in playing Astroneer back on Patch 119. Back then soil wasn't a resource and you landed your spaceships at your vehicle bays. Oh, and we had vehicle bays that were purpose-made for building all vehicles, as well as Printers for printing Tier 2 stuff like Medium Storage and Rover Seats. Good times... 😎

@@Ghostwolf82 I miss the vehicle bay. We need a better way to sort recipes now that there are so many, i resort to only learning the recipes i need. back then we also go recipes from the research pods instead of bytes as well.

Queen on her own color, each player should have a white square on their far right of the closest row to them. This means opposing kings will be across from each other and it is the same for queens. If I had to guess, blue would be white and pink would be black.

Dude skinned bases would be so sick. The XL Curved platforms are 45s. I'm currently using them for turns in my production line. 2 of them make a 90° turn

If memory serves, the board has a proper alignment. As you're facing your side of the board, you should have a black square in the right corner.

I started my biggest base so far, right before this update came out. And now my design sucks compared to the shape of the new platforms 😭 And I love the new platforms! So my base will definitively need some Z1 cleaning. It just needs a ton of more hours to be able to go on youtube. It dont need to be as good as you youtubers projects... but it need to look like I tried to make it nice you know 😅

When I paint, the surface buckle a little, so my extenders and stuff fall down. Thats not okay. I promise that everything was smooth but after painting its full uf small bumps. Its _terrible_! Absolutely terrible.

The king and queen are opposite on either side, so a king won’t be across from a king, and a queen won’t be across from a queen.

in chess, It's white on right and queen goes on it own color. problem the board you have does not have the black and white squares.

A good thing to remember for chess is the queen matches her shoes, so if its the white queen, put it on a white square.

There are rare types of figurine available to find on different planets

So here's the thing, on Earth we use plumb bobs to determine how to make things level. This means equidistant from the focus of gravity (aka the core). So, the new behavior is correct behavior. The planets being so tiny (roughly ~2-4 km circumference compared to Earth's ~2200 km circumference. It's more like building on an asteroid than on a planet. Actually, adds to my respect of space agencies successfully landing "level" on an asteroid.

much slower for me, but still fast enough: at first click all research items to get started and be able to build the research station. then collect a few big "research boulders" to get bytes for platforms, arms, etc. and finally (without leaving the starting planet) i put a research station in a cave near a pillar with research items spawning, and an arm and a few small wind turbines and small batteries. when i came back on the next day, a lot of bytes were available. later i did the same a few more times, and harder planets give more bytes but also take somewhat longer to research. now i have researched everything and 200k bytes left over. and i even just have built the big rocket to finally go to my fourth planet. after getting first tungsten, then second iron, titanium, and argon (and even lithium from the trade platform), this will be either for lots of quick lithium or probably a rather local base on Atrox for all the other three gases only :-)

I read that the Muslims helped spread the popularity of the game all over the world in the first few centuries after it was created. But modern extremist clerics have often banned it as a distraction from a religious life. Also, the Christians tried banning it in 10th century. The wiki entry is really interesting.

Ctrl+click, you'll need the drill mod for harder surfaces, and alignment to get it "right"

using the alignment mod on the terrain tool, you start by building a level start of the base in its center. then it's your choice whether to continue using that modified tool to get a level base (following the curve of the planet and not flat) or switch it off again and build flat (and not level, not recommended for large distances which "tend to go towards the sky" after some distance in all directions). to reduce this effect, the starting point for the center of a base can be dug down a bit first. still not recommended if you plan to build a really large football/soccer field for the recreational sphere.

the difference between u and i :-) 8×8=64 to fill each square and get a *_full (filled) board,_* but only 2×16=32 or 2×12=24 for a *_full (complete) set_* of chess or checker pieces, and after putting all those pieces on the board, it is a *_full (complete) chess/checkers board._*
