This is why you're my favourite builder ever, a mid-mounted Audi/Lambo V10 powered Volvo, with R8/Huracan rear subframe, DCT, and twin turbo some more! This is absolutely epic!

Videos like these make me wonder how people afford their builds. This is exactly up my alley

This is going to be a unique project for sure! The only serious mid-engine car I know of on RU-vid is Kyle from Boosted Boiz. He has a 1400hp+Toyota MR2 with a billet block Honda K-series that runs high 7 seconds in the quarter mile. He's had to do a lot of work to keep the car from doing massive wheelies.

Peter Bjorck, you're an absolute madman. I've been following your content since the LHD swap on your ex supra. I assume that I was around 10years old back then and you're one of the reasons why I had to learn English language to find everything done to that beast. It was around the same time my dad bought his USDM Supra and imported it to Finland. Your content has always been interesting and this Volvo is going to the next level. I am just starting a build for street week. Not 2024 but more like 2026 😅 I am also going for a tube chassis car, but sadly not with a V10, but a Volvo T5. And a glasfiber Tjorven body. Please document the SFRO process in the videos too! This part is extra hard for me since I’m not Swedish (I live in sweden tho).

Call it "Bender" After the robot in Futurama. You will have a lot of bent pipes in this car. And that's what bender does. Bends tings.

Great concept Peter! I'm using a Gen 1 R8 drivetrain in my build (from 2012 V10 car), also full tube chassis and awd. Twin turbos as well however much less power than what you're planning. I'm focused more on road racing vs drag - it's irs with inboard coilovers. Guessing you'll be driving yours long before I finish mine, so I'm really looking forward to seeing your build as it progresses!

Since Volvos are renowned for being a bit of a boat, I’d be naming it after a Viking ship like Vasa… might be a bad omen though… maybe Regalskepp.

So that’s what’s left of the R8? Cool project, going to be following it for sure!

I think you should try use full R8/Huracan front suspension to keep the parts easier, sharing same bolt pattern for wheels & so on.
