The NEW SONY A7C is Sony's new full frame camera. The SONY A7C is a compact reimagining of the A7III, the best selling full frame mirrorless camera EVER! In this video, I share some thoughts and impressions of the impressive compact Full Frame SONY A7C. The A7C resembles the A6600 with its compact design and has the power of an A7III. Biggest disadvantage of upgrading to the A7C from the A6600 is all the glass one has already invested in. BTW, a great comparison. Well done, all the best !

I'm committed to the A6600-bought it just before the pandemic hit so can't do the international traveling I want to do (I want to start shooting video documentaries in different countries). However, the A6600 is a beautiful camera! I had the A6000 for years and loved it, and now the image quality of the A6600 is even better. I love the feel of this camera in my hands-substantial yet so tiny compared to the A7iii, XT3/XT4, really any other camera. That matters to me when I am carrying a camera all day long. The APSC lenses are also so small, and this helps when shooting strangers in the street, or any spontaneous shots wherein if your camera is big you stand out as an intruder/photographer and people freeze up. Every year equipment changes, but I think that the basics of what I need to create beautiful photos and movies is all here in the camera body that I have and in my lenses. Probably, though, the big issue facing all of us with sony cameras is the poor image stabilization, which does impact movie making. Sony is woefully far behind in image stabilization compared to a number of other brands. I have confidence, though, that IBIS will be better in the next few years. In the meantime, no question I need a small gimbal when I travel-the weebill s. Thanks for this comparison video.

Sony does have something that no one else has in the interchangeable lens market and that is gyroscopic data. I know it is an annoying step but I tried it on my ZV-1 and it is fantastic.

Very interesting material! I have a question for you and the viewers, maybe they already have some experience. 1. Have you checked if it overheats when recording 4k after about 1h (I have A7III and after about 60 minutes it overheats and turns off)? I am thinking of buying this A7C, but the condition is that it cannot overheat while recording 4k in continuous mode.

I'm a begginer youtuber and got this camera last week. It is amazing compared to a gopro and cell phone I was using 😅. many of the reviews I saw were indeed negative towards it since the reviewers are "pros" with fancier cameras as you mentioned.

I’ve got the a6600 with the 20 1.8G and I’m pumped I ended up getting full frame glass. This will be an easy decision for me, but won’t lie...VERY disappointed there aren’t any custom buttons.

Exactly. This camera (for me) is a really good option to jump into a full frame at a reasonable (to me) price point. I have an a6600 and several e-mount lenses already so this entry makes perfect sense considering what I'm using the camera for. I've pre-ordered and once delivered I will sell my M50, its lenses and accessories which will eat quite a bit of the cost. It is my hope to sell the a6600 at then end of next year and use those funds to help finance the A7sIII BUT that depends on whether or not I get what I need out of the a6600\A7c combo. This camera is a perfect fit for me right now and it will be for others for reasons of their own.

My dude, awesome video I think your channel is going to blow up. I'm tempted by the A7S3 but my wallet is crying thinking about it and it might be too much camera for me at my stage. I'm looking at the A7C as a "good enough" video camera for me to upgrade from the cheap bridge camera I'm using now and then I can feel good about investing in full frame e-mount lenses and I'll upgrade to the A7S3 in a year or two, keep the A7C as a b-cam.

Hi this is my quandary, I like to do more outdoor videos and wish to use a gimbal. Now walking and staying in focus with minimum movement is what I like BUT occasionally for added b roll footage, I like to use the programs available on a gimbal. (effects etc) So based on your testing the A7c would be a better choice than the A6600 In that respect? Thank you!

I agree, this is a good bridge camera for people coming from APS-C into FF, but I'm not sure if this is something I'll be getting. I'm not ready for FF yet, and we'll see what the future holds. If I were to upgrade today, I'd probably pick up an A9.

Great review. Yeah all these A7 platform users got it twisted--the A7C is a A6600 with a full frame sensor (and some other key enhancements) jammed into it. It is really ideally targeted to APS-C A6000/6600 users who can now move up to full frame without the bulk (in the body), but still keep the form-factor and controls they are used to. It'll be great on a gimbal, get you bokeh like you've never had before and that flip-screen is a hugely underestimated useful feature. Everything with the A7C is a bonus to A6600 users, except the size and cost of full-frame lenses. But hey you gotta pay to play and maybe Sony will bring out more compact full-frame lenses to take advantage of the A7C form-factor.

Great vid! I currently have the Panasonic Lumix G85. I can't handle the terrible autofocus anymore. lol Looking to upgrade to something. Was thinking the A7C, but after watching this, I'm having 2nd thoughts due to lens cost and size. Would you recommend the a6400 or a6600 then for talking head and DIY videos like I'm making?

Hey thanks for checking out the video! I appreciate it! I think the a6400 is a great camera but if you can find the a6600 on sale.. I'd recommend the a6600 over the a6400.. To me, the a6600 is a more complete version of the a6400 from the battery performance, the better grip to the other small quality of creative filming life.. it's just a better experience. I checked out a few of your videos, DOPE CHANNEL, btw and I would recommend the a6600 based off of the videos I saw. They're all good cameras.. cant go wrong with a7c to a6400.. it just comes down to the concessions that you're willing to make with any particular camera. I hope that helps! thanks again!

Hey thanks for checking out the video! One of my favorite creators is Jake Sloan and he does a ton of adventure and nature vlogs and photography.. I’d check out his reviews on the Tamron 28-75 along with the Tamron 17-28. I personally own those lenses and they’re FANTASTIC!!! Those were the 1st lenses that came to mind when reading your comment. I think his review of them would be a better frame for the content you wish to create. I believe the a7c is more a second or first quick on the hand camera perhaps with a small lense like the 16-35 or 24-70 for full frame in addition to an A7R or A1 with another standard lense with a range beyond 100 mm perhaps 70-200. With such a combination of a smaller and bigger body coupled with lenses not need to change you are quick for any situation. On the other hand compared to the a6xxx the combi in addition with a set of minimum two heavier, bigger lenses and expensive brings not so much advantages. Me i have the 6600 and the a7r3 and the reason to bought the 6600 as succeder of the 6300 was only the same battery size now for the 6600 and 7r3. And the daily driver for me is the smaller lighter 6600.

come from the prospective of a Canon shooter. I'd still say that my upgrade from ym canon 80D to the Sony A6600 Camera sound like that would be a better upgrade for you switch from the canon system. since full frame lenses are way to pricy for someone who is starting out in full frame. That is just my thoughts on, if there is any other info i should look into for my upgrade and or stuff to look into for the sony system let me know.

Yes to both the EVF & Card Slot type.. that’s according to the BH Photo specs.. I guess the slight difference would be.. Viewfinder Eye Point is 23 mm/Viewfinder Magnification Approx. 0.7x on the A6600 vs Viewfinder Eye Point 20 mm/Viewfinder Magnification Approx. 0.59x on A7C... if the higher numbers are to be better, than the A6600 has the slightest edge..

I like your positive spin on the A7C but I think Sony should have marketed it as the A6700. Maybe the reception would have been better. I have the A6000 and the A7C would be a good upgrade path if the price is right. Sadly it is not. You did a good comparison with the A6600. Excellent upload! 👍

Sony NZ charges NZ$4,299 for a7c with kit lens, and NZ$2,998 for a6600 with kit lens, (incl. GST). a7c has pros for it (1) flip OUT screen (2) faster UHS 2 card reader (3) Full frame 4k video. (4) USB C. Cons is the kit lens has no OIS (a6600 kit lens has OIS), and it's NZ$1,301 more expensive than the a6600 kit.

When using an APS-C lens on the A7C you won't lose any resolution if you're using the the A7C for video... but for photos the resolution will drop from 24mp to 10mp.. so they'll definitely be a drop in quality on the picture taking side of things.. thanks for checking out the video!

A7c makes no sense. Heavy glass needs a proper grip. I’ll stick with the a6600 and primes for a compact setup. And save several 1000s

The problem with this camera is why buy it instead an A7III cheaper or no reason to change A7III for A7C. Diferent from EOS RP which costs 800 boxes less. A7C for $1000 then I would have it as 2nd camera.

Ain't no body pay 1800 for this a7c body for this screen for this old menu system, period....people are not stupid....this looks like a toy....if its a $999 it would have make sense but $1800 simply No No
