New Jersey father Christopher Gregor is set to stand trial on Tuesday for the death of his six-year-old son, Corey Micciolo on April 2, 2021. Gregor is accused of forcing his son to run on a treadmill because he believed the boy was “too fat.” The child later died of his injuries. Law&Crime's Terri Austin has more on the case.

I’m a social worker, the system failed this child. The mother took her son to the hospital and was discharged, a few hours later he was dead. Shame on the system for not taking the mother’s concerns seriously.

I think the supporting evidence doesn’t back up him being an abusive father. The mother had lost custody. The mom could have been filing false reports to attack the dad. I just urge that we all keep an open mind until we know the mitigating factors.

I used to know a man who was working for foster parents organization. He said too many kids in the system but very short of people want to foster children. The foster children are not easy to take care. They are kids from drugs parents. They have anger problems or all kinds of health issues. People accepted to foster them but then returned them after a short time. Easy for us to criticize the system but noone wants to help.

This was a case of bias because of Christopher’s family wealth , his education and job status and his family relationship to the state police . Bree the babies mother was struggling with addiction. So they discounted her concerns and favored the narcissistic sociopathic abuser. CPS is a joke this child should still be alive . She made 100 reports to varying authorities . Everyone in authority that made bad decisions in this case are responsible for the death of this child . She documented bruises, rugburns , fingerprint marks some on his neck . Any normal person would’ve seen!! Smfh ! Lock him up forever !

That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard, what he said. Pushing children and encouraging children is essential, yes! Maybe doing jumping jacks or exercise appropriate for their age, but no children should ever be on equipment purposely made for adults. Treadmills are not for children!

More people need to start bringing up civil suits against DCS. This is happening way too often. I saw one case where DCS went to the home, did not ask to see or talk to the child. The child died that day after DCS was at the home.

I would believe that the husband beats his wife too. He is violent and acted out of control very irrational, I hope they put him in prison. I fell off that machine once and broke a rib. The child died as a result of all those blows when he fell from the machine. Besides, that is too much for a child, they are fragile. The father does not show love for his son, on the contrary he was torturing him. He was crazy.

He just didn’t force him to run on the treadmill. He sped it up and when he fell he would toss him back on the treadmill. He fell at speed, about 6 times. The medical evidence about the effect of the falls on a young child’s body at speed, will weight heavily imo. Where’s your evidence the report was made by mother( grandmother wasn’t it?), because the mother didn’t like him…not like her s.a. Abuser? Go figure!

Okay, so he had a lacerated liver. When they examined him in the hospital did they physically touch his abdomen because if it was lacerated then (from the gym incident) surely the child would have reacted? Did he cry out? Did he wince and curl up? Because I’m pretty sure an injury like that would be excruciating

My understanding is the video didn't come out until after Corey passed.The day before Corey died Mom filed for emergency full custody until investigation of the bruises on Corey's body the judge denied her so she had to bring him back to him.

I am not defending his actions, because I have no idea what they were, but the title makes it sound like requiring a child to do physical activity is wrong, and that is simply not true.

It would be that same as if it said:"Man accused of forcing 6-year old son to wash dishes". Then it turns out it was for hours at a time and with scalding water and harsh chemicals. The title would make it sound like kids should never be told to wash their dishes.
