New VRChat "Security" update.. My thoughts & info on this. Also VRChat alternative!? 

They could've just... not ban it. If they prioritize safety, VRC team should create their own mod launcher (or open up Steam Workshop) so they can moderate and approve harmless mods. I use mods for QoL solutions that vanilla VRC lacks. Also mods help mean lot in creative content (i make music videos) and banning mods will limit the creative side of VRC. This is such a huge step back to the community.

been playing this game since 2018 and its upsetting that the devs never listen to their community. 😩

I love one simple fact though, EMMVRC, something that VRchat team hates, which bothers me so much to such a high degree. You can't use EMM's best features without having VRC+ which by itself is making VRC money. And even then, all VRchat has done has taken mods that the community had made, like SDK tweaks and the ability to grab bones. They yoinked those from the modders who made/ worked with them. It's so bad, and now they're like, "No more making our game better." 🤡

I have some "friends", let's just call them. The types that you don't want to associate with. To quote one of them sums up what their community thinks of EAC, "You have just made this 10 times easier."

This has caused such an uproar in the Vrc community. The discord is completely insane right now. My buddy who is a friend i made in Vrc explains the situation like this... "Basically what they're doing is let's say there is a crowd of people and there are a few dozen terroists in the crowd, there's no way to find the terrorists quickly by normal methods so they tear-gas the entire crowd to see who came prepared with a gas mask. The platform is too big, so in order to resolve it they have to hit everyone to fix it then set things back to normal or close to normal once it's resolved." I have hope that this is gonna get resolved. just from the backlash and the people who are signing the petitions against this EAC, I do believe our voices are gonna be heard.

It just sounds like public worlds are going to die... With no ability to use anti-crash, you're just going to see revenge crashing as an alternative.

I think this is honestly a great change to give VRChat Alternatives a shot, there's a lot of other options with really great features that VRC lacks that really could use more people!

malicious modders are just going to find a way to get around eac, they do it for every other game that has it. Eac is also very unoptimized and is gonna make the game more laggy than it is

I thinkThis update isn't about crashers or hackers. I believe it's them getting ready to implement more features into vrchat plus.

Thing bout it tho is people can still crash ppl using photon this eac does nothing but ruin normal mods and still not fully detectable against “malicious” clients so ppl gunna be mass photon crashing worlds

little update for vr chat they ignored the people and went though with the update and people are not happy about being ignored chill out vr it is im uninstalling vr chat they really did wrong with this update easy anti cheat killed the game i cant even load vr chat anymore without some mod getting in the way all the memories ive had on there is gone ty vr chat devs for ingnoring everyone who spent 1000s of hours in your game just to stop something that dont even work in the first place crashers can have vrchat im going to make new memories some where else you all have a good day or night

Sadly Neos Vr and Chillout Vr are not compatible with standalone Quest users. So you’ll need a pc which I don’t have but I am working towards getting one.

I don't even run mods but I'm a Linux user. They broke VR support for Linux with the EAC update. Yes, it still runs in desktop mode, but it will no longer play in a VR headset under Linux. Also, one of my other VR titles stopped working. So... I restored my system from an earlier backup, deleted VRChat while offline and then went online and deleted my VRChat account. My other titles work fine now!

See I have to use Text to Speech, graphic overhaul (to make the game run better when there are 15 or more friends in one world), and a world rejoin (just in case I get disconnected when napping with a friend or my partner..i do t have to are them for them to send me an invite..i can just join back). This is definitely going to hurt VrChat and with some of these avatars my friends have..I can be around them to see the creativity they bring

It's not gonna do anything from what they have said. Literally as Client user we already have a thing to counterattack the EAC like BRuh they just killing their own community at this point LMAO

lol vrchat having a blast not going to lie and this is not the end they want peeps to crash or bypass stuff they need all the data to hit these guys harder. vrchat sticking around and all the others will follow watch.

i hope thoes other games come to quest soon. the only thing really on quest is recroom, and ied rather not even play vr if that was my ownly option.

So let me tell you something I am on one of those lists that someone will target me in any game I am in to crash me and wear mods no longer work I am no longer allowed to play VR chat due to these people targeting me with crashers now I feel super unsafe playing VR chat I am now going to move to a different game until mods return

You can use text to speech without mods. Not supporting the anti mod thing. Mods should 100% be allowed in all non-competitive and single player games imo. Especially VRChat since the game was basically made by modders.

Already uninstalled it. I used mods cause it made the game better. Not to crash people. Not to be a dick. But if they take away mods then I have no reason to play it.

To be honest it's not worth paying money for vrc. It's not worth it. Secondly I'm not against VRchat anti cheat I'm against the people who crash others maliciously purposely like every single day.

The only issue with ChilloutVR is the very strict copyright.
