"The upstate prison flavor that keeps you ugly all night long!" LOL! This is just the sort of classic scene that made News Radio one of the greatest sit coms of all time. And how FINE is Khandi Alexander? DAAAAAMN!
Today, that would offend somebody because people are pussies now. We used to be able to laugh at stereotypes and have fun. Now, they want reparations and apologies, or need therapy and a safe place
I loved this show. FRIENDS replacing it in its time slot, and them moving it to a different night killed its ratings. And it was 10X better than Friends. The cast kicked ass, the first 10 seconds of this video says how good this show was and the people in it. Dave Foley, Phil Hartman, Stephen Root, Andy Dick were this show's weapons against mediocre sitcoms of the time. Thank you Newsradio. I loved you.
Seinfeld and NewsRadio were my favorite 90s sitcoms. There were alot of good ones but even 25 to 30 years later they hold up very well and I can watch them dozens of times.
@@Kruppt808 I'd also put Frasier and Married with Children on that list. Friends is truly overrated and was generic as hell but that's just my opinion.
She's not trying to not laugh. Since Bill wanted the ad to feel authentic, she finally gave him some advice on what words to use (feet stank, crizappy) to an ignorant Bill. Bill ended up getting fired from endorsing Rocket Fuel because of the bad things he said.
Lol thanks for putting this up. This popped up in my feed, and even though I've seen this episode 10+ times, I completely forgot about it. Hilarious!!! RIP Phil Hartman
I loved the whole bit about usign 'Wazzup' for a alcohol commercial considering 4 years later the 'Wazzup' Budweiser ads debuted. Maybe they got the idea from this.
That slang actually comes into style in the "IN SPACE" episode of NEWSRADIO. Its funny how ROCKET FUEL lost all their "alleged street cred" with just one commercial.
I miss Phil Hartman so much. I was searching around to try and locate the episode where the crew acknowledges his death and all that, had my eyes fill with water probably 3 times throughout the episode and just all out cried when Dave was reading the letter at the end.
a friend of mine posted a clip of phil hartman doin sinatra on fcbk. After watching several times and lmao, i thought of this scene and HAD to look for it...and it's STILL funny as hell!!!
