Yeah, they should have had a TOD, there WASNT HANDS TO THE FACE, IT WAS THE NECK, IVE NEVER HEARD OF HORSE COLLAR, BUT MAYBE THAT WAS IT, BUT THAT HAS TO BE THE WORST THING IVE EVER SEEN, BOTH TEAMS PAID THE REFS Edit: ok, apparently it can be called on the neck area too... but let's not ignore the UR.
The officiating is bad, and all the prime time games close & decided in last seconds or OT. Not a coincidence. Television ratings dictate outcomes. It IS a television program. Look at all the credits after. And producers credited who are making decisions. It's not a REAL sporting event. Go to week 2 of a MLB midday game in KC. Might be a tv camera. But it's not quite the same production. Yes, high school games have bad officiating too. But it doesn't affect television ratings. That's the illusion & excuse given to cover up the ruse. Don't let it fool you.
I love how the refs either make a terrible call or miss an obvious penalty, but will get all butt hurt and throw a flag when they are called out on it.
The one with the bears fumble, he was using a loud speaker to talk to the bears sideline about the rules. Like dude they know the rules, they think you blew the call cause you did.
Honestly the refs made the KC Bengals game so unenjoyable with the bad calls. It reminded me of the browns vs packers a few weeks ago just took all the fun out of the game
It's finally time for the NFL to realize that with the rules that are in place the referees are supposed to enforce, the game can no longer be officiated with decent accuracy by the human eye alone. With all the 'new' types of penalties that have been created in the name of player safety, there needs to be another official (or 2) on the field whose lone responsibility is to look for infractions of the new player safety 'rules', and video review needs to be mandatory when player safety penalties are in the mix...IF the league is really serious about player safety.
It's actually time for the NFL to acknowledge that they need to dissolve the whole league because people aren't watching like they used to, and with all the new rules, and politics, it's not worth watching anymore. I haven't watched a game live since 2015, and from these bad call reels, I see that I am not missing a thing.
Bad take. More refs means more flags which means more bs calls. Some of us want to watch the players decide the game. If you want to watch officials have their way then watch cspan
I’m glad someone else realized this instead of just saying “hUrr DuRR tHE rEFs Are rIGgInG tHe GAme” like a bunch of other comments on this video. The safety rules, pass interference, and forward progress are all subjective and the refs have to decide whether or not to make calls on them from the field without the help of camera perspectives or replays, often while trying to watch multiple things happening at once. Of course they’re going to screw up a lot with the way the system is set up currently.
This has been the worst year of officiating since the refs went on strike. At first it was kind of fun to watch these videos and sympathize with the fans of these teams that have gotten hosed. The novelty has worn off and the sheer predictability and regularity of these calls has worsened the quality of these games greatly, and at some point we seem to have transitioned from penalties that I don’t agree with but understand, like protection penalties and the taunting calls, to just outright bad officiating. I fully support some kind of reform to address the problems we’ve watched all year, either in the form of some kind of challenge or review system, or referee accountability. I am baffled that this has been an ongoing issue all year with no repercussions or corrections whatsoever.
I’m ABSOLUTELY with you on officials getting repercussions on calling horrible games. There needs to be accountability. I’m guessing these are all ex law enforcement officials. Knowing they can get away with their bullshit.
I feel like every play should go to the ethereal reviewers in New York. If you have the final say on challenges and every TD why not allow them have the final say on every flag
Nfl needs to make the rule of forward progress more clearly. Refs can call anything forward progress or even no call it. It needs to be a reviewable call Bc it’s bs for that to be a refs judgement call
@@greninjamastergabe6452 that wouldn't leave time for tom brady to scramble. he'd exit the pocket with nobody near him and they'd have to call forward progress
It would be pointless. As we saw with the reviewing pass interference penalties the refs will absolutely never backtrack their own calls. 0%chance. They even stopped challenging it last year because they knew the refs just didn’t care. It had a 0% overturn rate.
"It is a penalty but you arent going to win against an official" this is whats wrong with this league. These refs are playing their own game its complete bs
have been since the leagues inception. the NFL is one of the easiest culprits as they are trademarked as "entertainment" and not "sport" therefor no different then the WWE. they can fix the games and bet on themselves and make billions and its all legal.
Yet, here you are, watching week after week. Entertained with the rest of the sheep. NFL rig games for financial gain. Tom Brady's good, but not THAT good! 😂
the refs just control the game too much. allow reviewing of penalties, address challenges without timeouts, let “forward progress” play out, let blockers block defenders, let receivers and cornerbacks hand fight, let lineman be physical, don’t protect the quarterback to the point where tackling them is illegal. just don’t effect the outcomes of games😂
The reason for the "Hey Hey Hey" meme from the Miami/Tennessee game is that Geoff Swain was called for holding in the first half when HE was held. The crowd started chanting "refs you suck" for a solid five minutes. Fun game to attend, by the way.
If the guys in the both can see what is really going on down on the field just put a head ref in there with them and give him the power to over ride all the calls. Where ever the review team is at now sucks. We are at a place where refs on the field in most sports can be done away with. In baseball balls and strikes can be called by a computer. I don't think all the random bad calls add anything to the game. Its time to upgrade things a little to match the time we live in.
These refs are horribly inconsistent and have way to much power to manage these games for vegas and betting purposes as well as financial purposes for the NFL
@@dylan8277 i'm fine with the fact the Chiefs lost. It was an okay game and they simply didn't manage to properly defend against Chase. But I definitely can't accept that horrible officiating. It feels like it is taking over and it sucks if that is game deciding. They have like 500 cameras to correct their mistakes after all.
Refs are human and trying to watch 5+ guys depending on their responsibilities. Just need to have an official sky warden that can adjust calls on the fly before the snap. Still 50% of "bad calls" are still more interpretation by refs. So 1 crew interprets rules 1 way and another a different. Ofc fans/betters are going to interpret whichever way is beneficial to their team/money.
The NFL needs to make a rule where announcers can’t call games for a team they played for. Troy Aikman is super biased when he is working a cowboy game.
You are watching a video about bad calls so yes you are going to see him agreeing with the cowboys on these bad calls in this video Watch actual games he has many times talked how good the other team is and how bad the cowboys are playing.
Kansas City I feel y’all pain as a cowboys fan that game was something else on top of that we got cheated on too refs = 💩💩 even tho our offense did bad
There were bad calls on both sides. But on that final drive. Those penalties were legit lol. The final PI call in the end zone to seal the game. The defender turned TBs helmet sideways on his head😂
@@dylan8277 ya, but it wouldn't have even gotten to that point if the right calls were made from the start. Chiefs were the better team that day and it was handed to the Bengals.
This could of been chiefs Bengals game the whole 15 minutes, you missed at least 6 or 7 other plays that the refs screwed up on both teams with kc getting the shift at the end
That final drive was legit calls IMO. The offsetting penalties and the PI. The defender turned our receivers helmet sideways on his head. But it doesn’t really matter KC lost that game themselves I mean on that final drive, it was 3rd and 27 at one point 😂
(8:40) A similar situation happened last year when the Ravens played at the Steelers, and the penalty wasn't called. Based on what I heard from that game, defensive delay of game makes perfect sense. They did blow the play dead before the ball was slapped out of the player's hand. It's a little hard to hear, but they did blow the whistle.
I mean. I understand they don’t like to double team receivers but maybe the guy who already has 200+ yards on the game. Maybe you double him on 3rd and 27. Idk 😂 just a thought
The forward progress calls piss me off the most, especially after that Tennessee vs Purdue college football bowl game that had one at a crucial moment in overtime
Thank god this upstanding group of clearly not blind and demented individuals stood firm against that PI replay rule a ways back. Now we can revel in their extreme competency improving absolutely every game these brave souls call.
jesus with all the technology & cameras we have for each game nowadays you'd think we'd no longer have refs making bullshit decisions every week? Why even bother honestly?
The problem is most rules have room for interpretation. Hit to the head is now "forcible" up to the ref to decide what he deems forcible. Some see head move as forcible, others see a legit hard blow as forcible.
Serious question, im not a big football fan but i watch games on occasion (especially with family), but, what the heck is "forward progress"? It literally sounds to me like a rule that outright prevents players from pushing offensive back, like in the clip at around 3:20 ish where they, to me, very clearly pushed said player into the inzone. Can someone elaborate on this?
Some of it is because the initial 0 on the clock is 0.9. The way its officiated is to allow for the extra tenths of a second to elapse before it can be whistled dead. By the time the ref sees 0 and looks down, you can assume its at 0.0
@@Barraind.Faylestar That's not true. the second flips at the end of the second, not the start. When its at 40 and starts, there is a second that elapses before it goes to 39.
Man these calls are crazy. I can't believe the shit that these players who have spent their whole life getting here face. I mean some of the refs are cool, but taking a hit on a defenseless player, and not calling that is bad, like really bad. 1 bad hit can end a players whole career. I'm fine with big hits, especially ones that are dangerous, as in im fine with the entertainment value, but that doesn't mean you don't call them.
Horse collar tackle isn’t about the collar but about the direction the runner is being tackled. You can’t pull a guy backwards because they break their legs.
What I can't stand is these pass interference calls when the ball isn't even close to be catchable.. So these quarterbacks are just throwing the ball up anywhere and crossing there fingers. They have ruined the game..
The rot starts at the top of the NFL. With the mystery replay reviews in NY (with no transparency about what is happening), and the increased number of subjective calls that refs are supposed to make, it's a recipe for disaster.
With all do respect your argument has no validity. They watch film during the week and critique their performance as well as have plays sent to them from the league to breakdown and analyze. I'm not sure what being "full time" would do to improve their performance. There are no other games for them to work during the week. Unfortunately it is a part time job because of its nature.
I don't even watch NFL but the fact these videos are weekly and this long shows how bs a lot of the calls are. Especially this week with holding and forward progress bs.
Bad calls are part of the game, there is only so much a human eye can see in real time. It's stupid to get mad at a ref for a call after you were able to watch a slow motion replay from 10 different angles...
the officiating has gotten worse each year. i know a lot of the older guys are retiring but refball has been a problem for YEARSSSS. it's a damn shame when a great football game is ruined by horrible officiating. Hochuli's son in particular thinks he runs the whole league. The Thanksgiving game felt like two plays couldn't go by without a penalty. He also was the only referee to give Tom Brady an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in his LAST GAME EVER.
Not only are the Refs appalling, but the announcers are clueless. Watch at 11:19, when the announcer says the defender is good at "jump balls." What nonsense! The defender grabs the receiver, never sees the ball and gets away with it. Pathetic.
The fumble at the end of the cowboys game had me red in the face. We shouldn't depend on a single play to win the game and may have lost anyways, but the refs should not determine the outcomes of games off bad calls. Why the hell was it not reviewed? Mike McCarthy also screwed up by using all the timeouts before 2 minutes so we couldn't challenge. Also, like how the broadcast got off of the replay FAST, cuz they knew it was a bad call and it would infuriate fans
