NHL Adidas Jersey Size Comparison 

Thanks for the video. As a novice getting into Ice Hockey and wanting to purchase jerseys this was very helpful, good to know you are approximately the same height and weight as me so it made my size choice easier. Was surprised with the back length of the L, M and S visually not too disimilar.

I’m 5’7” and 165 and I went with a size 50. I normally wear a hoodie under my jersey when I go to a game and it feels really nice with the hoodie on. The sleeve does go down to my palm, and the length goes a tiny bit past the bottom of my booty, but it feels and looks like it fits me properly, watching this video did help me decide to go with the 50. I was worried the 46 might be a little tight with a hoodie. And without a hoodie on it still feels nice. The only thing about the 50 I am a little iffy about is the length down the back. I think if it was like an inch shorter I’d think it’s perfect. And the 46 looks the same length in the video so yea, that’s why I went with 50 and I don’t regret it. Hope this helps someone. 5’9 here medium build 170 pounds. Just ordered a Sidney Crosby authentic adidas jersey. I went with the size 50, it’s what you’d call a perfect fit. You mostly feel the tightness when you put the jersey on. Once it’s on it feels great. Would be interested to see how a 52 feels but my guess is it would be long on the hands with maybe just a pinch more room.

Damn..I needed to see the difference in a 44 and 46. Particularly with the length of the sleeves. I’m like you I can’t stand having my jerseys hanging off of me, especially with the sleeve length I hate that feeling of having it swallowing my hands.

My wife bought me the Leafs RR for Christmas and had to phone a friend to figure out the sizing lol. I can wear 50 or 52. I was buying M or L RBK. Before RBK Edge hockey jerseys in general were very baggy. I do like the new slimmer style since RBK. I lean more towards M or size 50 for the less baggy look and I dont want sleeves that are too long. Personal preference. It is fascinating that top to bottom length is so similar to 50 and 52. The sleeves clearly have the biggest variation of length. Very informative. Well done Neil.

I’m 5’9 160-170pounds and I honestly prefer 52 over 50 just for the chest being a bit more roomier. The arms are a bit longer in the 52 but the lengths are the same. I referred back lots to this review for help thanks a lot 👍🏻

I seem to be in-between a 52 and 54. ive tried both but i always wear my jersey during the hockey season and that means ill always have a jumper on so a 54 has a bit more room around the chest. it means it is not too tight. if i was only wearing t shirts a 52 but on of my fav things is coming home from work and just putting on my hockey jersey in the evenings over my jumper

the adidas jerseys definitely are longer than i expected. i ordered my first a out a month ago and i was surprised that it’s significantly longer than my CCM heroes of hockey 46. i get away with it and it’s great over a sweatshirt but i think i’d get 44 from here on out.

I'm 6ft 190 and wear a 52 the length of the torso is to long but the sleeves are perfect it's a small price for perfection

For more information: I've been a size small in the Reebok Premiere jersey's and a size 46 in the Reebok Edge 2.0 jersey's. A size 46 in the Adidas jersey would have fit me fine. But now that I went from a 155-160 ibs to my current weight of 200 ibs, I wear a size 50 comfortably in the Adidas jersey's. And keep in mind I am 5'5" Good jersey comparison without going too scientific.

I have a size 50 Seattle kraken jersey, feels kinda big but yet I have a San Jose sharks jersey that’s a 52 and to me they both feel the same height and length wise. I do wish it was a bit tighter around the waist so I may go with a 46 going forward I’m 6’1 195 pounds btw.

Yup I learned about that as I started collecting jerseys. Being 5'7 140ibs. I would wear size 46/small because I just wanted style fashion tight feeling jersey like a shirt. I would get stressed looking for a jersey and found one only to find out size 46 is out of stock so I tried 50 and it fits the same but a little bigger. Overtime I started collecting game worn/MIC jerseys and the first size was 52 and I thought that was huge but once I got into 54/56/58 and goalie cut. yeah they are huge but you know what, idc. they all fit me well and now im at the point I don't care what size the jerseys are anymore (unless they're 46). going back to the 52 now its small fit for me and even smaller in size 50/46. Same with Small Medium and Large. I prefer to wear XL but overall it won't matter what size to get for me. as long I like the jersey. :) But I preferably I go with size 54.

I’m 5’8” 165lb. I just found a size 50 Gourde Kraken Winter Classic that had been sold out everywhere. It was the exact one I wanted and the only one in stock, it was returned that day. When I tried it on it was a little tight getting it on over my head and shoulders but once on felt good. At home I’ve noticed the sleeves are a little long like to my knuckles when arms are down and the length is quite long-past my butt. Part of it is I’m just not used to hockey jerseys, which i think tend to be bigger in general. The vid made me realize that a 46 wouldn’t really solve the issues I’m noticing and that a 42 would be the next leap to see a shorter length and sleeve but might be pretty tight on the chest. Interesting, living in a cold part of the country I usually up my size by one to let be wear a hoodie under my jersey, it’s a Winnipeg thing

I’m just under 6’0” and I weigh just under 190 lbs, so I get size 54, and it’s very comfortable on me. So far the only Adidas jerseys I have are the Minnesota home, Pittsburgh home, and Vegas home. The rest of my jerseys are Reebok XL, except for my Ducks home which is L. The difference between L and XL for Reebok is the sleeves, but the height is pretty much even.

5’9” 180lbs size 46 (Adidas Authentic) fit perfectly like he said. A bit form fitting and shirt like as said in the video but still have enough wiggle room.

Adidas also makes sizes 58, 58+, 58G, 58+G and 60G if you know where to look. The number size is only on "authentic" jerseys and pro jerseys, not replicas (Fanatics currently). The numbered sizes have been used in pro leagues for many years and should be very consistent from brand to brand based on NHL specs (Reebok, CCM, KOHO, Adidas, Starter, ProPlayer, etc).

I wear a 50. It's comfy to wear and if I'm heading out to the ODR I can wear a hoodie under it.

it would be helpful instead of height and weight to provide the measurement from armpit to armpit when laid flat. people can weigh the same but have really different body types. chest measurement is super important for determining fit. and providing the measurement across the hem too would also be helpful.

I'll pitch in my size and fit. I'm about 6'1" and weight around 160 lbs. I bought the Buffalo Sabres navy blue Adidas jersey. The style before they went with royal this year. I went with a size 52. As tall as I am, it's extremely long on me. It's a good inch or two past my zipper. The chest is a little big. The sleeves fit well. I have long arms and it's certainly long enough in the sleeves. I'm kind of swimming in this thing to be honest. I have tried it with a hoodie underneath, and honestly that helps a whole lot. It fits much better with a hoodie. It is much more comfortable than with a t-shirt only underneath. If someone is my similar size and build, hope this helps!

Buyer beware when it comes to Adidas NHL jerseys, even though you might think you've bought the correct size, sadly Adidas regularly incorrectly label the sizes on the jerseys, I've bought several size 60 jerseys that have looked small, measured them and they've actually been 54 or 56 instead. And just look at their official size chart, the chest size for a 60 should be either 29.5 or 30 NOT 27.5 (that's about a size 56 max')!!! NEVER had this problem with Reebok or CCM!!!!

I recently bought a 93 ducks away jersey size 50. What size would be recommended in the fanatics jerseys for a size 50?

I was usually a m in rbk. But have a big chest so adidas jerseys in medium felt abit tight so my first adidas I went with was a 52. But I dont like how baggy it is around the waist n how it flares out. So my 2nd one I got was 50. Abit tight in the chest but motivates me to loose a few pounds lol

Since this video is two years old I will post an update for the 50 vs 52 primegreen. I'm 5'9" and currently sit at 200 lbs, I range down to 185 depending on the time of year. I bought both sizes of the same jersey to compare. The 52 is wider in the chest by 1/2", wider in the hips by 3/4", longer by 1" and the sleeves are 3/4 inches longer. I didn't like how long and wide the 52 was, it seemed more like a dress than a hockey jersey. I did prefer it's sleeve length over the 50, the sleeves on the 50 ride up a bit further than I prefer. I tried thin and regular hoodies under both and they looked and fit comfortably. Obviously there was a bit more room in the 52 but I did not feel constricted in the 50. I ended up keeping the 50 and returned the 52. Hope this helps anyone who is looking as I was.

If im wearing with a chest protector what size should i get. I normally wear a L in most game jerseys

A lot of my jerseys are all different sizes. Until I started realizing a size 50 that's a medium correct Fit really good. And I stuck with that size do the regular sized logos. The one thing that I have the most trouble with when it comes to sizes of jerseys if the arm length. Because due to my disability my left arm is a lot shorter than the right by maybe inches. So no matter what size I buy my left side is always going to be bigger arm length wise. I could try size 46 but I don't want to smaller logo.

Great and informative video! I recently purchased a Sabres Heritage Classic and noticed the Primegreen jerseys are much shorter in sleeve and overall length. All of my previous jerseys are 46. I'm 5'10 175lbs and like the jerseys on the fitted side but I'm going to have to bump up to 50. Wondering if anyone has noticed the same or if it was an outlier?

I'm 6'0" 190lbs - larger upper body, skinnier lower. I wear large in all shirt brands....I went to a local store and tried on the 50 and 52. Both fit good, but I went with the 50. The size 50 Adidas is slightly smaller than my Reebok Medium. I have three Adidas PrimeGreen jerseys and all three fit great, only complaint is the sleeves are about .5 inch to an inch different on a couple of them. I wear thermal shirts/long sleeve t's under my jerseys but could probably get away with a hoodie if I tried.

I wish I had seen this before I ordered mine, I just have to hope I got the right size for my Brad Marchand adidas jersey. I’ve been a hockey fan and being born and raised in Boston I am a diehard B’s fan but amazingly this is my first ever hockey jersey in my 35 years on earth. I’ve never been able to justify spending over $200 on a jersey so I’ve never bought one and because I believe in the hi dear if you’re going to do something do it right don’t buy the cheap stuff. So I finally decided as a 35 year old fully disabled combat veteran I would finally made it up and buy a jersey because I have always wanted one, so I saved my and decided to get Marchand because he’s my favorite player. I’m 5’5 1/2” and I weigh between 165lbs and 170lbs so I went with the size 44, because I do NOT want it hanging off of me life a dress or something, but I have a sneaking suspicion when I get it whenever the help fanatics decides to ship it given that it’s been 5 days and it still says processing.....that it will still be too big but I’m going to hope not! GREAT video and VERY informative for my next jersey purchase which will probably be the black Hurricanes jersey since I’ve lived in NC for 12 years and knowing they need ALL THE support they can get because they don’t get anywhere near enough from the people down here, the sad part is they’re an amazingly talented team

Hockey jerseys have always been measured in inches for around the chest under the armpits. This S M L XL stuff came about for the cheap fan replicas. The more expensive fan replicas (or what some people call authentic) have always used chest sizes in inches. However ADIDAS has totally screwed this up, the numbers they are using aren't even reflective of that measurement anymore. They've bastardized the sizing system of the replica hockey jersey. A size 56 for example, should be 28 inches from seam to seam between the armpits (28 x 2 = 56). 25" for a sz 50, 30" for sz 60, 23" for Sz 46, etc etc. These measurements were used on the higher end replica jerseys, included a fight strap) to simulate an authentic jersey. They are still replica. They are close but not the same as the actual jerseys that the players wear that you can get from say Meigray. So that is where the numbering system came from. It's ALWAYS been there. In order to appease less affluent fans but still get them to buy a jersey, they started making cheaper jersey versions (like no fight straps, or iron on patches instead of stitched, etc) and those ones are the ones that inherited the S M L XL tags, based on approximate mens sweater sizes. So as you can see where a buyer would select a sz 60, they are expecting 30" across the chest from seam to seam at the armpits when the jersey is laid flat, they are now getting a lot less, only getting like 27-28" making it between a 54 and 56, not a 60. Rendering the number system that has been in place for decades, totally useless. Now that Adidas won't be producing them anymore I hope we can get back to true sizing. Crossing my fingers.
