Nazem Kadri had a hat trick and the Colorado Avalanche scored four goals in the second period en route to defeating the St. Louis Blues 6-3 and taking a 3-1 lead in their second-round series.
Kadri's response to Binnington's temper tantrum water bottle throwing is honestly just poetic, a hat trick to silence the fans who cheered because Girard broke his sternum. Especially after seeing Kadri troll the Blues fans was hilarious.
Tonight, it was all about Nazem Kadri. After receiving death threats from Blues fans and getting the police involved, Kadri did not waver. He did not respond to the hate that was piled onto him in social media. He didn’t retaliate. He didn’t take stupid penalties. Unlike Perron and Buchnevich, he didn’t let his emotions get the best of him. He put the team before himself and let his game do the talking. Last year, Kadri was distraught when he could not help the Avs against the Golden Knights. He is now making up for it by coming through when the Avs need him. Kadri is the first Avs player to score a playoff hat trick on the road since the team moved to Colorado. The last time this happened was back in 1987 when the Avalanche was formerly known as the Quebec Nordiques. Another great adjustment by Bednar. He re-energized the bottom six by recalling Newhook and benching Burakovsky. Newhook was hungry to make something happen. Luckily, his effort was rewarded with an assist to Erik Johnson’s goal. Jack Johnson was excellent defensively and finished with a +2 for the night. Despite taking a penalty, Helm’s speed and defensive prowess made it hard for the Blues to set up anything offensively. Bednar was also not afraid to mix up the top 6 by starting Landeskog, Lehkonen and Mackinnon. Maybe he should stick with this line because Kadri plays his best when he is paired with Rantanen and Nichushkin. This was something we saw earlier this season when Mackinnon was out of the lineup with injuries. As I said in my last post, Rantanen was going to get a goal sooner than later. Even though it was an empty netter, this may help him get going for a potential clincher on Wednesday. Game 5 can be seen as a trap game. The Avs cannot relax whatsoever. They need to go back home and end this series. Put the pedal to the medal. #GoAvsGo Edit: Added context on Kadri's hat trick that it was the first done on the road since 87.
Peter forsberg scored a hat trick in one period for the avalanche in the 1996 Stanley Cup Finals against the Florida Panthers.... but still I love your comment and absolutely agree @kyouya
Perrons attempt to injure (second hit not the first) leading to the second goal, and then lerrons elbow to the head after the second goal just made the hat trick even more perfect
@@mr.ilikespam6081 I hope it at least gets reviewed, but because it was Kadri they will turn a blind eye. The officiating and the NHL are a joke for one reason, inconsistency.
Based on the lack of comments from Blues fans, I'm guessing they're all still under the covers and crying into their pillows this morning. Kadri gave you the finger right back. LOL
@@Devidra48 Oh I saw the play, and there are plenty of places to catch a replay. Rosen tries to stop, and you can see his skates turn. Kadri never attempts to turn his skates, and carries them both into Binnington, supposedly by accident. Kadri does something like this every single playoffs, but Avs fans are somehow in denial that he did it, and proud of him for doing it at the same time.
Wow. While the Blues still try to explain why Kadri going for the puck is a dirty play and jump him. He short sides Husso and blues for a hatti. Love this!
Atta boy Kadri. That was some Jackie Robinson stuff right there! Cant imagine how you did this, with seemingly everyone and everything Vs. you. Listening to you afterwards, you are a humble man. Im sorry to hear that some of this "hate" has followed you for your entire career man. As hard as it may be to believe, know that hate does not live in everyone. Good luck man. You made a big fan here.
@@MV-rt4hy Kadri and Rosen got tangled up in game 3 going for a loose puck from a rebound in front of Binner. They collided then went into Binnington. Totally unintentional hockey play but given Kadri does have a history of being boneheaded Blues fans think it was dirty. Just unfortunate.
@@elephantgrass631 you must have missed the part where the police legitimately had to get involved but it’s cool I’ll forgive you for not knowing what’s going on.
How pathetically sad is that when a fanbase has to resort to death threats? Over nothing more than an unfortunate play. I hope the Avs crush the Blues.
Perron throwing an elbow and completely missing Kadri's head pretty much sums up the Blosers. I hope Kadri gets another hat trick Wednesday just to rub it in over and over again.
So did no one else see that stick to the balls that one St louis player did when Johnson took a penalty? MacKinnon even lost it on the refs considering they were the ones who got a penalty...
I mean, what’s to be said in a comment section when your team loses. Seems like they all understand how this series will end, and have no excuses to me
That's because there are only 2 types of Blues fans right now. Those who feel shame about the conduct last night and those who are degenerates who support last night. Neither want to show their faces
Blues came for Revenge & the Avs came to win. Rookie move from the not so long ago Chip team LOL. & Kadri still got the last laugh hahah this ends in Ball Arena on Wed.
3:13 Perron tries to elbow Kadri in the head after the goal. Absolute trash. Kadri is no saint but at least Kadri was playing the puck. Tough to feel sorry for losers like that.
How exactly does he deserve it? Honestly curious. I don't agree with the threats he's supposedly receiving but I also don't think that those threats make him "deserve" anything.
The Blues need only look in the mirror for the culprit of their misery. The moment David Perron and Barbashev snapped and practically assaulted Kadri on the ice, the team lost its focus and got EXACTLY what they deserved. Congratulations St. Louis, you played yourselves and now you're bowing out in 5 games.
Love how it's kadri injured the goalies intentionally, but if that was Mackinnon making the play this would be unfortunate hockey play. Hilarious how people hold onto the past.
Where are all of the blues fans who were bragging about their depth before the series started? All I see are excuses for losing Binnington. Where's your confidence in your depth now blues? Better roster huh?
@@johnblze667 lol yes because only the Avalanche have ever injured a player on the way to winning a cup. It was awful don't get me wrong but it was also like 16 years ago.
That's the problem with the Avs, and the reason why they won't make it to the finals for a 4th year in a row. Their stars, and the rest of the team stop playing good team hockey the further they get into the playoffs. The quality of their passing, and good team play deteriorates. Edmonton, and Tampa on the other hand are mesmerizing to watch with how they are firing on all cylinders with moving the puck around. I think after the Avs are eliminated in the next round, they will be looking for a new head coach. The talent is there, but something about Bednar. I don't believe he's a natural born leader of men. He's unable to keep the team focused on good team hockey the further they get into the playoffs, or the more the pressure mounts.
He was a good player until he wasn't, pretty much useless in playoffs because he would do something dumb and get himself tossed from the series. Glad he's staying clean....ish this year
@@tracymcmahan9942 should be could be would be. Hate to break it to you but get outta your imagination and start living in reality. Might still be seeing Husso for game 5 if we Cracked binni in game 4. I mean we swept him last season. Or was he not in net last year?
I watched this tonight until the First Three to Four minutes of the 3rd period had gone. Avalanche we're leading 4-3 then. The Tavern had too close n I had to go Home 🏠🏡. Nice game by the AVS, excellent effort by St Louis, early On. Hope they possibly Win Game #5, but then I'm a AVS, Fan much more than the Blue's. Thank You for the Highlights clip. IT was exceptional as usual. Wyoming, Robert, 🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸👀👀🤔🤔🥅🥅🥅🥅🥅🏒🏒🙏🙏🙏
The most telling part of this Kadri saga is that not one Blues player had a problem with him and Rosen running into Binnington in game 3. Then the Blues get a day off, listen to their pissed off coach and fans, and come back to get revenge. Its like everyone knew it was just an unfortunate hockey play but then they had time to let emotion get the best of them.
I’m glad to see Nazty Nazem killing it. Rooting for Kadri to get his name on _Lord Stanley_ The Leafs are so dumb for letting him leave -Kyle Dubas is smart-
Nah Kadri needed to leave for his sake and the leafs good deal both ways we lost in the long run but kerfoots the typa player we needed on the contract we can afford
Leafs fans are clowns. ie: talking about the leafs in a highlight package of Avalanche vs Blues (second round) playoff game. Here’s another one, thinking the moves they’ve made in the last few years were anything but brutal. ie: Kerfoot (150th overall) Barrie (walked because of Toronto) + 6th rounder for Calle Rosen (back with Toronto because no one wants him) and Kadri (7th overall pick). Great trade Toronto YOU CLOWNS. You say without being pissed you need to make room…because of your dumb contracts you screwed yourselves. Your system in place because of the draft isn’t good either. Your just a brutal franchise with stupid fans that are loyal to a fault.
@@paulhorton1866 Kuemper got a stick in his eye during the first round. Yet Nashville didn't have to get extra security from Colorado fans acting like barbarians, and Avalanche didn't blow a game from acting like goons more concerned about getting revenge
@@peterpike He also slashed Toews stick out of his hands right before that spear. Not to mention Buchnevich deserved way more than 2 minutes for his 2 cross checks and a punch to Kadri.
I've watched a lot of hockey and that Perron is some greasy player, always acting to try and draw penalties, don't get me wrong he is highly skilled at it. But greasy as they come. Must have graduated on the Principals list from the Claude Lemieux school of how to be a gutless puke
What's with all the Avacado fans hating on the Blues? I don't see any hater comments in the other SN playoff game summary videos, just from Avacado fans.
The Blues lost their mind and aren't there to play hockey anymore. Classless performance and a absolutely classless fanbase. I feel like this is more about the Faulk hit last year than Kadri going for the puck, running into a dman, and them both falling on Binnington.
As a Blues fan, in real-time, I thought the Kadri hit on binnington was incidental. When I watch the replay of it- I think it’s sneakily intentional. Regardless- Kadri completely gamed tonight. Drew the 5 on 3. He’s in the Blues’ heads. That’s how you respond. I’ve got to respect it. Like him or not.
Avs fan, but I'm a hockey player first. I think almost the same, maybe sneaky intent, but if so, only he knows it, because even in slow-mo it appears there was effort to stop as he played the puck. His dominant foot that was underneath him was turned for stopping and creating snow. Beyond that any intent would have been after the loss of balance by Rosen that caused them all to continue forward. I'm not a Kadri fan as so many seem to be suddenly, but I do give him props for not being a total turd this season. Even his mouth appeared to stop flapping as much during the latter part of the season. Maybe he's actually growing as some suggest... maybe he's just gunning for that big contract; contract year and all. Regardless I agree, I think his response was f-ing pro. After all the hate, it was almost a form of justice... which is so weird to use that word in his favor.
Will Toronto have yet another player they basically gave away play a crucial in a different teams Stanley Cup win? We already have Tuukka Rask and Alex Steen that I can name off the top of my head, good to see Kadri excelling regardless.
Congratulations Avalanche my prediction Is dead now I had Blues In 6 they tried to push back but couldn't. At least you guys answered that Husso definitely won't be out starter next season the team has to play so defensive when he's in net and Isn't agressive offensively. But when Binner has been in net for the playoffs they play so much better in front of him. Good luck against the Lightning Avalanche fans If you make It that far. Lightning Is looking like they are gonna 3 peat
Thank you for the well wishes, and thank you for being a respectful and fair fan too. I felt pretty bad for Husso tonight. 20 shots on goal and a 5-on-3 isn't what I'd call good goalie support. Anyway, good luck next year. We'll see you again. (Btw, I'll be back here to fix that Lightning prediction when the Avs win. Playfully though) 🏔🏒🏆
If I remember right, Husso was great in the regular season and also had a 37-save shutout in the 1st game of the 1st round. Then he lost two games, so it was ok to put Binnington in and win the series. Anyway, if the goalie stops 37 pucks and wins, it is a great performance by him, not only thanks to the defense. Starter or not next season, I'm happy that Husso was given the chance this year. He deserves another chance somewhere, so you guys may quite well trade him to Carolina, because they take all Finnish players whom no other team wants.
Логики никакой нет ,а барбашов - это супер игрок, ему нужна конкретная тренерская установка на игру. Буч лучший у трубадуров,а тарас очень разочеровал.
Honestly, the Avs are kinda just that good. Plus they were super motivated tonight. The Blues looked lost without Binnington in the Net. Husso didn't do bad, he just didn't have a whole lot of help from his defense tonight. I don't count the empty net against Husso since he wasn't involved in the decision
