Eh, you're really stretching it with this one. I can *sort of* see the Pens-Bruins thing because of the color issue and that Samuelsson hit on Neely, but these two aren't even in the same conference.
It's a silent rivalry. It's like America and the Soviet Union during the Cold War. The Pens and Hawks are the two most successful organizations in their respective conferences over the last 10 years so you could say they're the 2 superpowers but they almost never play each other. It'd be crazy though if they met in the finals some time in the near future
+OneTimer Don't give me that bullshit. We got outplayed every period of that series by a better team. When you score 2 goals the entire series you don't deserve to win
- JPoopsy - Iginla was about to shoot the puck on the pp that would of given us the 1st win of the series and he gets his stick slashed. The stick brakes in 2 no call.. McQuaid's hand passes. He had like 3 off those. We let it go to our heads and the players didn't perform well because of that
OneTimer Yeah and we would've lost in 5 if he scored. Look man Boston was just the more mentally disciplined team. They played better teams in the playoffs before us, had more chemistry and played a physical type of hockey that we couldn't match. We didn't have it that year and a lot of other years in the playoffs for whatever reason. I think that series against the Flyers fucked them up psychologically because they really didn't beat anyone that good in the playoffs until this year.
Christian Stokes If you say your fanbase is not the most hated then you must have not been a hawks fan for long. They used to hold the bandwagon title.
This is actually we really nicely done documentary. Somehow I haven't found it until now. Problem is, this was only an "NBC rivalry" and nothing more. They took over broadcasting the NHL from ESPN and needed to market players. Naturally Crosby vs Ovechkin was the primary show, but once Chicago had their success, (and Edzo being on the broadcast team and his connection to both franchises) of course they wanted to fabricate this comparison. Toews was the leader of some outstanding teams, but he really has no business falling into the conversation of "Best players" any more than Claude Giroux does. Kane on the other hand IS that superstar for Chicago. So as fun as this was to watch, it certainly didn't age particularly well in the 19 vs 87 argument, but I really enjoyed this period in NHL history.
Unfortunately as a Penguin fan, the Hawks have been killing us for years! The outdoor game would have gone into double digits if not for the weather and two years ago that game it all came to a head with that 10-1 shredding!!
As a fan of the #DetroitRedWings, until both the #ChicagoBlackhawks and the #PittsburghPenguins meet in the #NHLStanleyCupFinals, and the Chicago Blackhawks defeat the Pittsburgh Penguins, then and only then can you call this a rivalry
+Salamander Man the video was uploaded to youtube march 2016, doesnt mean this actually aired 2016. right in the first 30 seconds, the guy says "what toews can say is i've got 2 stanley cups and you have only one." clearly this wasnt aired in 2015 or 16 as the hawks won the cup in 10, 13 and 15 in the 21st century. either you didnt use your own brain or you know nothing about hockey
Crosby owns-2 Harts, 2 Art Ross, 3 Lindsays, 1 Rocket Richard and 1 Messier award(s) plus an Olympic OT Gold Medal winning goal, Toews has none of those
Toews over Crosby why? 19 can play defense. and before you talk about "Oh I'm a bandwagon fan." I'm from chicago. and the penguins declared bankruptcy 2 times and the blackhawks, while enthusiasm died down. never left
@@sackandpack9166lmfao and?...nice rebuttal...since we wanna go there we gonna bring up the fact that the pens almost relocated twice due to poor attendance and literally only sell out when the get a generational talent and literally have the biggest bandwagon fanbase in the league?...oh ok then.
***** Bruh, hawks had a stacked roster compared to the pens in the last 6 years. Now we have 4 elite players, You guys had 5. We had 3 all along. You always had 5.
dead awake3 You fucks that became hockey fans after 2010 think you know what you're talking about. He barley produces at all. Yeah he's good in the playoffs sure but season time he's a no show. He might be a 2 way forward but that's not an excuse to not produce. Zetterberg gets solid numbers and he's a 2way forward. Then you're gonna come back with he's a good leader but that doesn't make him a better player.
OneTimer leadership doesnt mean youre a good player: only thing that you got right lol. How is scoring 28 goals three straight years in a row "barely scoring"? how about scoreing 68,66 then 58 pts over those 3 years overrated? Im assuming youre considering Zetterberg's numbers those years? 13,17,16 goals and 50, 55, 48 total pts. So youre right Zetterberg is solid... but Toews is elite and unlike Zetterberg he has won the selke and consistently is voted top 5 in the selke trophy. So season time is not a no show and does produce. Playoff time, well in the playoffs his game sort of speaks for itself.
Sid and Geno > Toews and Kane. The numbers back it up and Chicago no longer has the "we won more Cups" excuse. Pens are now the greatest post-lockout team.
I hate how they always target Crosby in these. He doesn't dive anymore, grow up its not 2006 anymore. Move on. He's accomplished more than in his life already than you probably will ever accomplish.
I'll take toews over Crosby for one reason and one reason only. defense. as good as Sidney Crosby is, defense isn't his strong suit. whereas toews is no slouch offensively but he can play defense extremely well.
