I'm so glad you checked out Lacuna Coil! They're so, so good! I also recommend Blood, Tears, Dust, and absolutely anything from the live 119 Show, such as Swamped, Nothing Stands in Our Way, and also Blood, Tears, Dust.

This is a band my wife (gf at the time) and I loved independently before we even knew each other in the early 2000s. Lacuna Coil has had a lot of ups and downs with albums (IMO) and lineup changes, but now I'd say they're as good as they were in their early days with their current lineup and sound. They almost exclusively sing in English, if you want to hear a good song in Italian, check out Senzafine.

Strapping is a Devin Townsend band. His rabbit hole is deep ,weird and strange in a great way. Devin is a superb vocalist and musician. And I might as well get my top recommendation,NeObliviscaris: Forget Not or Devour Me Colossus. Can't wait to see your take on the distorted violin,dual vocals,dual guitars,blazing baselines and last but certainly not least the drumming machine Mr. Dan Presland.

Guitar sound is one of their signatures. Sorry I neglected to tell you about this band! They are SO good!.. Like mixed vocals? Try the band Amaranthe "The Nexus" or "Archangel", "Helix" or "Digital World".

@@sevsimo also mixed vocals but totally other style is Bloodywood. Indian folk metal, the mix is a rapper in English and a screamer/shouter in Hindi mixed with traditional instruments and also in the song Aaj the add a female feature vocalist at the end. If you start with Bloodywood, be aware you going down a rabbit hole. But also almost everything from Laguna Coil is amazing. But the music style off Laguna Coil varies from album to album. As this song came out I was screaming off joy as they went quite hard, because the earlier stuff is amazing, but far not that hard. Love both sides

Love this! I'm also enjoying Cadaveria stuff a lot. Title track "Emptiness" of their most recent album is a jewel and also "La Casa dell'Anima" that is completely in Italian.

The female-fronted symphonic metal line for me went from Evanescence straight to Lacuna Coil. From there Epica, then Within Temptation, and then finally Nightwish after all those others. Lacuna Coil is special to me for being the first in that group I'd call metal, rather than rock, and they're so so good. 🤘

I notice you mention "choppy" quite a bit as a riff/cadence description, should check out some Death Metal, the best choppy, groovy, chunky metal genre, even melodic; Death, Jungle Rot, Children of Bodom, Gojira ( < a must listen band right there)

This was my first time hearing this song. I like but I more prefer the older stuff like “trip the darkness” (I think) and older BUT I see you’ve dabbled in Japanese metal.
