LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers have been getting all of the headlines this offseason after the blockbuster trade for Russell Westbrook. However, not everybody is giddy with the Lakers. Charles Barkley joined Bob Costas last night to talk about the King, saying quote: 'The reason I put Michael up there before these other guys is that LeBron has stacked his teams..going through that struggle, that's what separates sports..the struggle is part of your legacy.' Nick Wright, Brandon Marshall, and Kevin Wildes discuss what they think of Barkley not putting LeBron over Jordan or Kobe Bryant due to his 'stacked teams.'

Lebron is GOAT of basketball already. Coming from a person who watched Jordan in the 90s and Jordan, Rodman, and Pippen were my favorite players. And it’s laughable that people still have Kobe above Lebron, that’s insulting. Lebron has been better than Kobe when he beat the pistons by himself and took a bad cavs team to the finals when he was 22 years old.

Not his fault they failed at doing even an adequate job of putting any good players around him. Then Boston put the big 3 together and he left for a better owner, GM and players. Dame wants out for the same reason, he gave the organization lots of chances but they've failed. KD joined the warriors even though okc did an excellent job if putting players around him, he went to a 73 win team that just beat him.

Bron needs 1 more title and I'll consider him the GOAT. Too many accomplishments and even his failures (6 finals losses) are something that would boost a vast majority of HoFs resumes. Barkley being 0-1 in the finals helps him tremendously. Bron is changing the narrative for GOAT and bringing longevity into the debate.

Jordan averaged 41 points against Barkley in the finals. He didn't need a superteam with Chuck on Defense. The expansion diluted a lot of Jordan's competition. LeBron was staring down the Celtics and Spurs which were stacked.

with the exception of lakers vs heat in the bubble, can you name any point in time in all his visits to the finals, where he had a better team than his opponent? in which finals series were any of the teams lebron was on the favorites? his most stacked team were the heat which was exactly a .500 team when he didnt play, i dont know how thats a superteam. adding to that, how is it a stain when you were able to overcome not having the better team and winning 3 chips?

You are delusional, nothing nick or Brandon said about Barkley is applicable. We are comparing MJ kobe and lebron. They basically used the fact that charles barkley himself was a mercenary as evidence as a contradiction for his argument against lebron...how is that relevant when barkley is not even in the goat discussion? Lebron takes more of an active role than MJ and Kobe in generating teams that he still loses with...I'm sorry that's fair ammunition to fire against lebrons legacy. I dont care who he is losing too, you dont excuse being swept twice!! Yes, the first sweep was not him orchestrating but the second one was. A goat should be able to win a game. You HAVE to take into consideration the way Bron has won. Any top 10 player of all time would have MULTIPLE rings if they had the flexibility to consistently move around and join other great players. I can't blame Bron for leaving Cleveland the first time, but I can blame him for leaving Miami and then leaving Clevland again. Dude is a ring chaser. Durant is about to prove again that, that same formula is full proof.

People understand that but you have to put it in context. Jordan’s marathon came with pieces that helped him, great general manager and talent seeker: Jerry Krause. Great coach in Phil Jackson. Not making it far into the playoffs or being a low seed lead to high draft picks like Scottie Pippen. Bron had none of these luxuries that afford you to sustain a marathon. With the Cavs first high draft pick they chose Luke Jackson and never forget without Bron they chose Anthony Bennett. They didn’t even get a capable GM until David Griffin in 2014.

Of the 10 other players than LeBron the Cavs had that averaged more than 10 minutes a game in his last year in Cleveland, 8 of them were on the team up until the trade deadline, they only lost Shaq (who played in only 50 games anyways) and Ilguaskas, who was nothing compared to the player he was a few years prior. The rest of the core returned, and the only trade made was the Antawn Jamison for Baron Davis and a 1st trade that happened right before the deadline, and they already had the worst losing streak in NBA history, so no, the Cavs didn’t lose a lot the following year, being a season ticket holder and actually watching both teams makes you realize how bad the team was and LeBron carried it.

I will say this CB did avg 20pts+ before during & after joining the heat. Didnt get hurt/injured or miss any games towards the end of his career. But I will agree with Marshall. Bosh ONLY avg a double double in 3 seasons. Ok he was an ALL STAR before & during the heat. But back he wasn't a big man factor. Chris bosh was an all star. At best he just squeaks into top the top 20ish at the time he went to Miami. He was a good player on a bad team so his jumpers were inflated. He was never going to lead the raptors. He’s definitely not a top 50 player of all time. No one questions d wades skill. He’s top 3 shooting guards ever. But by the end of Miami’s run his body was broken down and he could never stay fully healthy, so lebron did have to carry him, but not due to skill, due to health.

That’s the lebron effect that’s making him higher than he actually his. Bosh plays great when he’s the feature on offense. Even after lebron left he played great until his heart issue. He’s just not a big enough game changer to be the first or second option on a championship roster. His two championships were because of his time with lebron and D wade. Other than that he never had a chance to even make the conference finals. As I said D wades ability is still top 3 all time that doesn’t change. But that’s only when he’s healthy. You get flashes of it during his last years but he was a non factor From 2014 to retirement. Part of the reason lebron left in the first place. He could not survive a whole season plus playoffs playing at a high level so he needed to be carried. Even Chris bosh was carrying him after lebron left.

Lol that rockets team was not stacked. Hakeem was passed his prime by the time Chuck joined them. Clyde was passed his prime by the time he joined the rockets (3 years before Chuck join them), pippen was definitely not even top 25 when he joined the rockets. Lol and it has been at least 3 years since rockets had won their last chip. These guys really don't understand what a super team is.
