My favorite Nicktoons game, bar none. I had so many memories with this one. You get to play as SpongeBob and Danny the whole time (people might mind it, but my two favorite Nicktoons were and currently are SpongeBob Squarepants and Danny Phantom, so I fangirl every time) characters talk to each other mid game, and it's situational so they don't repeat themselves like in Attack of the Toybots, the bonus stages are a nice addition (except You Go Goth... f*ck You Go Goth.) there's no more textbox cutscenes, the music is my favorite in the series... I just wish, as said in the video, you could pick characters. Also, they can clearly make passable models, write people in character, and fitting music... why didn't Nick hire these guys to make a DP game...?
This game was fun back then, it still is. It's pretty good with plenty of bonuses. Problem is, it's too short. And you are constrained to Spongebob and Danny Phantom in many levels. I wanted to play Timmy more as his magic and hammer were amazing. Still, as I said, game is good. Plenty of bonuses to find, costumes to unlock, BONUS LEVELS, AND A ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. A zoo! When I was young, I wanted zoos in so many games, and this was the only platformer game I can find that included a zoo. Should you get it? Maybe. You can beat this game in a few hours but it's still pretty fun along the way. Fun is what we want in a gamecube game.
I do agree with you this game is great but the problem is that it's just way too short nicktoons unite was clearly the longer game in terms of length 😄😁
I believe there's a dialogue in the crab level confirming he can't use a lot of his powers in this game. As a situational dialogue in the level, he says 'I'm going ghost! ... Nope. Still nothing.' Of course, not only is he in his ghost form the whole time, but he can also shoot energy blasts. I dunno, a lot of the times in the show Danny forgets he can go intangible when in fights so I wouldn't put it past him to forget how to fly in a situation like this... course this WAS during season 2 when he's much better at controlling his powers... Yeah, I got nothin'.
@@alluke6633 your welcome,I've also only really beaten globs of doom once,and that's on ps2,the thing I like about attack of the toybots is that you can choose your characters before going to a stage,not just randomly selected ones,also I heavily enjoy the spongebob sliding sections
I love how everyone in this game has their own unique range attacks that actually fit their character. Spongebob: Bubbles Danny phantom: Ghost Ray Patrick: Cartwheel Sam: Fenton Ghost Peeler Timmy Turner: Fairy Magic But I can never understand what Sandy's range attack was, if anyone find out please let me know.
We haven't seen a new Nicktoons crossover game since Nicktoons MLB. I honestly think there should be a new one at some point. And I know you've said in the past that you're against the idea because you don't like most modern Nicktoons, but I think some characters from shows like T.U.F.F. Puppy, Legend of Korra, Ninja Turtles, Harvey Beaks, Loud House, and Bunsen's a Beast should be included to get younger audiences interested, and have characters from 90's and 2000's Nicktoons for older fans.
Well, I've thought of a platform fighting game that has mostly cartoon characters (both popular and obscure). There will be Nicktoons characters, both old (Vendetta) and new (Harvey), but NOT all of them will be in it.
I think the rating you gave this game was a fair call, and I'm glad to have heard what you had to say about it; a lot of your arguments were pretty solid and well-thought, and the critiques you gave it were quite understandable. :) While I have never played the game myself, I have seen a walkthrough of the PS2 version on RU-vid and I found it quite enjoyable. The odds are unlikely for me, but I would love to have a PS2 console and the PS2 version of this video game; I'd love to play as SpongeBob, Danny, Patrick, Sam and others. :)

To me, Battle for Volcano Island is my favorite Nicktoons Crossover Game and the only game in the series that I really cared for. Meaning that, not only was I not the biggest fan of Nicktoons Unite, but I also was not the biggest fan of Attack of the Toybots or Globs of Doom. So as far as I'm concerned, this was the only good game in the series. Great job on the review Fred5107!
I completed this game 10 times as a kid, so much fun but could never finish a one in which they were stuck in a robot maze because the 1st robot level was too hard for me.
I do really enjoy this game for its graphics, music and the fact that you get to play as more characters. However, the big problem that I have with it is that Timmy gets unfairly sidelined which is really noticeable when you see the other playable characters. For instance, when Patrick, Sam and Sandy are found they are playable in the very next level. However, after Timmy is found, he's not playable when you fight The Great Carapace and is only playable in The Crystal Ruins level. I found that really disappointing and still do. In fact, I actually wish the game could allow SpongeBob and Danny to not be playable in a few levels and Timmy could substitute for one of them. It's really my only problem but it is a problem that's prevalent throughout the last third of the game. If they gave Timmy more to do, I probably would have liked the game more. I didn't really mind Jimmy being non-playable because he still got something to do.
This review is great dude, I remember playing this game when I was a kid after I rented it from Blockbuster (remember those?) anyway I give the game a solid 8/10. Anyways, great review, great job on it, can’t wait for more.
I really liked this game back in the day, but I always thought Nicktoons Unite was better. Maybe just conceptually though: like the idea that one game can contain the stars of 4 different shows UNITING IN ONE SETTING blew my little 8 year old mind. But maybe mechanically, this game holds up better I think. Strange; cause the idea that all the characters would be suddenly called to this random dimension that had nothing to do with any of their respective shows was strange to me as a kid. But with how kids shows are, anything goes really.
I more played Globs of Doom. Volcano's island's universe is my favorite (both DS and PS2, and I like the enemies's design on gba), but I prefered the unlimited unusual gadgets's cheat code in "Globs of Doom"... But I fucking love the "Globs of Doom"'s and the "Attack of toybots"'s ost

I like Globs of Doom. The DS version for me is more nostalgic because I remember playing it in 2008. But the console version is where it's at for me now

Guys butch hartman confirmed that a new game in the nicktoons franchise is in the works its called dimensional overdrive its being developed by platnam games and it will have veautifull joe and that wolf character thats from that one game that they made that I can't remember the name of as guest characters and yes jimmy danny and tak will be in this game look it up you won't find much though
I didnt own this one but my best friend did. We werent allowed to watch fairly odd parents at the time thanks to Vicky so we were looking for anything with Timmy Turner and we liked thee orgnal. We were annoyed timmy was only in one level and jimmy was only in one (probably because Jmmy's show had just been canceled and Timmy's was planned to end soon)
Don't forget Cosmo and Wanda I mean let's face Timmy is pretty much useless without his fairies. Sure he saves the day without them before but in most episodes he needs them.

Only thing I remember from this game is that there is a game-breaking bug in the GCN version that boots you back to the Main Menu prematurely at anytime, often starting to occur after finding Sandy.

Can you review the Attack of the Toybots? I think that even though these games were much more fun as a kid, toybots was the best of the 4 "nicktoons" games. Unite and Globs of doom were terrible. 2 and 3 were the best by far.
12:22 their secret item find animation and sound play tends to be glitchy. Especially in the fort crab claw level. I sure hope it was an unintended glitch. The characters that are not being played only attack in self defense. At least you can beat them up without doing any real damage.
Will you ever make a review of Nicktoons Attack of the Toybots. I had the most nostalgia with that game, and I would love to see a review of that game by you if you ever have the change.
The game developers could of taken inspiration from the LEGO games. In those games, once you've beaten one level, you get to play as other characters as long as you unlocked them already. It could of been like that but whatever. I say that because I've noticed that the gameplay in this game is very similar to the LEGO games, minus building things.
