With Some Wrestling Experience, NickyRod had been training bjj for three months at this point. instagram - @nickyrod247 grappling & lifting instructional bjjfanatics.com/search?q=nick...
I don't understand all the negativity in the comments, anyone with any grappling experience can understand the incredible level of conditioning this guy has. I am really impressed by this ability to remain explosive even deep into the fight. I would be interested to know more about his training techniques.
crazy to see how much of his technique is the same when comparing him just starting out, and today. I'm not saying he hasn't developed and evolved, I think it shows how instinctually good he was even from the start. His style looks relatively similar from 5 years ago compared to now, where as someone like myself has 2 completely different approaches from when I started compared to now.
I saw the thumbnail & thought "It looks like they're hugging, wtf?" so I clicked to see what was going on. I'm sure that was the plan, well played sir.
I am a wrestler new to BJJ and it is depressing to see such studs perform with crowds of less than 100 people. Same shit in wrestling at the highest level.
@@freedom2870 they both have their advantages bc wrestlers can take someone down and Jiu Juiteros Can control someone while on the ground but as a former wrestler going into BJJ I think realistically it’s better to have 80% wrestling and 20% BJJ background as opposed to the other way around bc the fundamentals of wrestling carry you further than the fundamentals of BJJ in a street fight
Guys please can someone really good at jiu jitsu explain to me why has nicky crossed his legs when taking back? Why anybody didnt leg lock him from there?Nicky is a stud💪.
If your ankles are to high and/or off to the sides of their hips, it's highly unlikely that the old school figure 4'ing your legs for the ankle lock is accessible. Worst case, you can frame their head away and escape your ankle if it starts to become a problem.
@@trxscreed but he didn't have a wrestling stance at all to try and be low enough to block takedowns, when the takedown did come he didn't do any takedown defense. I mean what the hell. he didn't do anything. Ignoring the rear naked choke and using both hands to grab Nick's foot?? Did they grab some guy from the crowd??? I'm so confused.
@@kris3451 I could imagine that kind of thing happening but still isn't he meant to be black belt brown belt purple belt level? If you've been training grappling for 5+ years you'll probably come across some other big guys and realise you need to learn proper technique
Finally some good aggressive grappling. That is what these people do not have. it is always some bull gentle art nonsense that leads to breaking limps and choking people
@@JeanTheDweller The throat is the neck not the sternum. The sternum is a breast plat that is hard and its use is to protect your heart. That is what i saw him push. If you can provide a time stamp that would be great
na bro got the wrestler build. A way to recognize people who took steroids is to look at their traps because many androgenic receptors are located in the trapezius muscles. This guy has underdeveloped traps for his size, so probably he's natural especially if he's from a wrestling background, many wrestlers look like gymnasts.
2024… Still the same Nicky Rod but I’d say less explosive. 0 No Gi sub attempts All aggression, power, explosiveness. Others have developed but not Nicky
@@cool8150 hahaha ya I’m sure you think it’s easy for me to say that. Nicky is a BJJ guy, and a very high level guy at that. I’m only a lowly purple belt. With over 50 professional fights, boxing, kickboxing, and MMA. But I get it BUD
Where is the jiujitsu? This is basically a wrestling match with no pins. Wrestling is cool but nogi jiujitsu it ruining the art. I’d like to see this guy in a gi metamoris type match, 20 mins, submission only. That way I could get a better perspective of his jiujitsu vs his wrestling. He’s a very good wrestler
if you don't like it get good wrestling defense. if jiujitsu is such a good art it should be able to stop it. Grappling and wrestling is crucial to good jiujitsu.
