I just relapsed after 36 days of being nicotine free due to stress from studies. I’m actually surprised to see how little it did despite going for the highest dose I previously used. It’s not really much of a nootropic or a fun substance compared to the detrimental effects it has. It’s not worth the constant pain and cravings for a few minutes of ‘cognitive enhancement’. Wish me luck guys, I hope I’ll get rid of it for good this time.

Nicotine can be a little b***h my friend. They say it’s harder to kick than heroin for a reason. It’s such a short high/buzz that it causes your brain to constantly crave it. Nicotine addiction is nothing but your mind playing tricks on you to try and get you to relapse until it completely consumes your thoughts (not to mention lungs). That ‘cognitive enhancement’ is nothing but BS marketing and can easily be recreated using meditative breathing techniques. I’ve been clean for who knows how long and still get those stupid fkng cravings but I’d rather eat delicious food and get fat than smoke my life away ever again. Best of luck on this hell of a journey.

I found that vaping helped me quit smoking last in july (1 year ago exactly) Vaping was more addictive to me and I still get the urge to buy a disposable vape nearly every day, I'm currently taking 5-6 4mg nicotine gums a day. Sobriety from ALL drugs and stimulants is so sadly understated, most will never know the freedom it gives you in all areas of life. Been off all caffeine and nicotine for just two weeks after my sleep and mental health being in the gutter despite eating super healthy and staying moderately active. I couldn’t stop smoking until I quit drinking coffee, and couldn’t stop drinking coffee until I quit smoking, they had to go at the same time. Sometime addictions feed each other. My mind and spirits has been restored, thank the Lord, I’m telling you all. God + Sobriety + Righteous living is true freedom! “All things are lawful to me, but not all things are helpful. I agree with your statement. Patches are the best way to microdose nicotine use. It helped me quit smoking and nicotine down the line. I used step 2 and then step 3 patches for just 3 weeks and smoking addiction was gone, along with nicotine addiction. I've been able to moderate pipe smoking -- usually 1-3 bowls per day. I rarely feel compelled to go above that because my palate tires of it. I don't know how much nicotine I'm absorbing from it, but suspect it's more like a micro-dose since I, like most pipe smokers, don't inhale and it takes upwards of an hour to consume a bowl. I feel a mild elevation of mood, but not a buzz like cigarette smokers describe (I've never had one myself). For me at least, it's less addictive than coffee/caffeine. I will skip the pipe entirely some days, but I can't fully function without at least a couple of cups of coffee or some other form of caffeine. From the pipe smokers I know in person and online, my experience is fairly typical; although, there are some who will chain smoke his pipe all day.

I've been addicted to nicotine for 10 years and honestly i've never felt any of the positive effects other than fullfiling the needs that addiction to the substance has created itself (like feeling less stressed because you satisfy your cravings or just being able to connect with other addicts during a ciggie brake or in the other social circumstances). In my opinion (and in the opinion of the smokers i've been talking to) it's the most stupid addiction you can actually get into since it brings nothing to the table. If you were a regular smoker and you were able to quit for some time and then smoke one cigarette after a while you propably would feel absolutely nothing excluding pleasant taste of earthy/nut flavour you wouldn't experience if you a smoke regularly since your tastebuds ain't working the same way and maybe a little dizziness. Even in my hometown there is a homeless guy that would do every drug on this planet and still he would say he ain't that stupid to smoke cigarettes 😂

0 to 8 mg a day is good in my opinion. 4 mg to get up & going if you have pain in the morning. I tolerate it better than coffee, which disrupts sleep and feels more addictive to me because the effect is much longer lasting.

Man how do you quit a typically not very habit forming substance and start an extremely harmful habit instead? Regardless if you're only a couple days in you should be able to put it down easier but you gotta put it down. If you're addicted to the act of smoking like a lot of people can be, research ways to satisfy that urge while you're fighting he withdrawals and then slowly let go of that when it feels right. Focus on one thing at a time, we love you and hope you feel better man. Please don't let yourself go down the path of cigarettes

@@scubasteve6175 thank you sir I used to smoke cigarettes years ago before I started cannabis, because I’m cold turkey weed I felt the psychological need to smoke something and I didn’t want it to be CBD, and I happen to have a pack of cigs from somebody else on that day so I started smoking it. Cigarettes are extremely disgusting after you quit for a long time, I hated the lingering taste I hated the smells, but I felt anxious and bored without smoking something in the day.. I have not bought new packs and I’m not planning on smoking cigarettes… I just want to use this one pack of cigarettes to get through my first week to two of my withdrawal… I appreciate your advice brother!!

Choline uses same brain receptors as nicotine, it's a edible nutrient. So in theory it should have same effects, maybe not as long lasting or concentrated

Is there any evidence of association between cancer and nicotine itself? Or this association is always connected to other substances present in nicotine products (pouches for example). Thanks doc!

Nicotine and caffeine are suposed to be taken as a treat, not in a daily basis so you depend on them. Plus when you doing them occasionally, you enjoy the effect much much more.

I personally feel like nicotine is the lesser of the three addictions so I used it as a crutch for awhile but when I was ready to let go I finally did thanks to relying on god and also watching your videos to keep me motivated.. thanks brother

used weed to quit nicotine/caffeine because weed is the only drug i can reliably quit without replacing, then cut down from daily smoking to 1-2 days a week. which is basically where i want it to stay, i dont drink or anything so those 1-2 days are my drinking i guess?

If you keep taking 1mg a day, that tolerance is gonna build up soon and it won't do jack after a while. Everyone's body chemistry is different too and no two people will react to nicotine (or any drug) in the same manner. Some might need 1 mg, some might need more. I think the questions we should be asking are, what are the harms? Specifically, what are the harms compared to other substances that are completely legal to consume? I absolutely despise Tucker for the most part but he's not wrong, at least not on this one. Even if he's probably in Zyn's pockets lol
