I can't believe this happy sounding song that feels like its made to dance around a fire is actually abt a siren enchanting sailors to drown and kill them 🙂
"Loreley" Merrily we sailed along Though the waves were plenty strong Down the twisting river Rhine Following a song... Legend's faded storyline Tried to warn us all Oh, they called her "Loreley" Careful or you'll fall... Oh, the stories we were told Quite a vision to behold Mysteries of the seas in her eyes of gold... Laying on the silver stone, such a lonely sight Barnacles become a throne, my poor Loreley... And the winds would cry, and many men would die And all the waves would bow down to the Loreley... And the winds would cry, and many men would die And all the waves would bow down to the Loreley... You would not believe your eyes, how a voice could hypnotize Promises are only lies from Loreley In a shade of mossy green, seashell in her hand She was born the river queen, ne'er to grace the land... And the winds would cry, and many men would die And all the waves would bow down to the Loreley... And the winds would cry, and many men would die And all the waves would bow down to the Loreley... Oh, the song of Loreley Charms the moon right from the sky... She will get inside your mind, loveley Loreley... When she cries "Be with me until the end of time" You know you will ever be with your Loreley... And the winds would cry, and many men would die And all the waves would bow down to the Loreley...' And the winds would cry, and many men would die And all the waves would bow down to the Loreley... And the winds would cry, and many men would die And all the waves would bow down to the Loreley...
@@gblakney1 There are plenty of correct spellings: Loreley, Lorelei, Loreleï, Lore Lay, Lore-Ley, Lurley, Lurelei, Lurlei. In german language, the official spelling is Loreley, which is very close to the origin of the word: "ley" is the Celtic word for "(slate-)rock". The first part "lore" is descended from middle-high-german, either meaning "luren" (lurking) or "lurren / lorren" (crying) Basically "Loreley" means "lurking / crying rock" which does make sense in both ways, from the crying sailors of the capsizing boats or also from the Danger of Capsize lurking behind the rock. The Loreley is still dangerous though, just a few weeks ago there was an accident with an acid carrying ship.
A couple of years back I found this song, heard it once and tried to find it because I found it beautiful. I looked and looked but since I forgot the name of it, I couldn't find it. I remembered the picture and looked at this and I was like, "Wait, is that it?" So I click on it and I freaked out because I love this song and haven't forgotten it even over the last years.

a real legend and place with the statue but its a sad one because she basically drowned everyone. the sad part is that it was her beauty that caused the ships to crash
English share a little something with you now you might think I'm crazy but I'm still trying to get water out of my ears things to her talk about annoying
How is it that so many Celtic Nightcore songs are arguably better better than the original? The remixing is so good that it literally sounds like actual girls with amazing vocal range are singing!

@@miavelie2627 I know that. I'm just meaning if you take out the lyrics you have a happy upbeat track...... I know the lyrics off by heart. Dark lyrics + happy beat = this song
Kashiki G. not a good idea, I got teased a lot because of my name. "lord of the lies", "you must lie a lot because your name is Lorelei", even if the spelling is different.
Okay, so I volunteer at a charity shop and today someone actually donated a copy of the picture used in this video! Brand new, still in the package! I was like “OMG! I know that picture!”

Porcelain Chai It was a picture on my old laptop (which I don't have anymore) and I'm relatively certain that I never knew the artist. So while I would love to credit the artist and give a link to them I physically can't.
I know the song is from Blackmore’s night but is this song based on a sailor story of a siren or woman that you see in the ocean, fall in love with, only to find it’s an ocean’s illusion or am I missing something? What is this song about anyway?
A women on a mountain near the Rhine who sang and the sailor listen and dies, I live in the near of the mountain cx and I think she's a siren yee *they dies because the just listen and forgot to drive the boat and so they collide with the mountain of somthing like this
Its "Loreley" thats a myth of a women who sailors seduced with her singing and the sailors died because they are collide with the mountain who now names "Loreley" I life in the near of the Loreley
Speed up Music(the higher pitch mainly Comes from speeding up too)there are Songs where it works because the rhytm gets pepped up,but there are also Songs which can be ruined by it
You mean 99% of all 'Nightcore' songs? only found that works (makes it better, even), Porclein doll - killer, or something in that vein. It'll have Suicide Squad Harley Quinn as the thumbnail.
